  • "The property is starting to look a bit tired, it is due a touch up, generally a nice place to stay."

Access is down a very narrow road with on street parking (if available). When approaching & turning left into Fairview then the turn is very difficult. Light damage was caused to my car attempting the turn. Walking into the town is down a steep hill and steps so not suitable for those with any mobility issues, returning uphill requires strong legs & lungs.

  • "Super property, very comfortable and lots of extra goodies provided ( eg dishwasher tablets and washing liquid)."

This is our second stay and it seems better every time. Loved the new rubbish bin in the kitchen that opens by itself, caused many a funny moment!!! Well done 5 Fairview lovely place to stay.

  • "The property is conveniently located and you can park outside!"

We did enjoy our visit. However there were a number of things that needed addressing some of which were raised following our stay last September 2022 in the same property. The property does need some updating. RAISED LAST SEPTEMBER AND STILL NOT DONE. 1) Extractor hood not working. 2) Kitchen window handles broken, difficult to open. 3) The whole shower needs changing, very old and keeps falling off the bracket when showering. 4) No outside light to decked / garden area. 5) Child gate on stairs broken, danger of falling down stairs. CURRENT VISIT 2023 1) Washer needs service / deep clean. Washing came out stinking and then we were unable to dry anything. NEED a new washer / dryer. 2) Hoover also stinks and needs replacing. 3) Kitchen bin lid broken off and needs replacing. 4) TV has very few stations and we were unable to retune it. 5) Storage cupboard in kitchen/dining area had to be emptied out to get to the ironing board / hoover / iron etc. An old cupboard door had been dumped in there after the new dishwasher had been fitted. 6) A curtain or blind should be on the window next to the front door. Not very private when going up and down stairs. It is a big window looking onto the road. Sykes sent me a voucher whilst we were there for £40 off our next booking and it expires on 13th October. It would be better to have an open expiry date as we were not ready to book our next holiday yet!

  • "Lovely property well maintained, fabulous views from the decking."

The only comment I would make is the the steps down to the kitchen diner area are quite steep and deep treads, not for someone with mobility issues. Otherwise a fabulous house and we shall be back again.

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes indeed, the steps down to the kitchen area are quite steep and deep and I'm sorry about that, However, I don't believe there is much we can do about this at least in the short term. I will ask the agency to flag this up on the info about the house. Property Owner

  • "Great unexpected little find."

Easily big enough for couples or families of 6. Lovely location, clean and well kept. On street parking available outside the property, with a 10 minute walk up hill from the harbour to the property. The house had everything we wanted and more, allowing for a very relaxing stay. Booking and key collection made very easy. Would highly recommend.

  • "We had a fabulous us stay in your house."

Great location. Beautiful comfortable house. Only thing is would have loved a dishwasher and to have seen recycling being available. We put our own box of glass out after asking our neighbours what day it went out. We also didn’t know what day the rubbish was collected as this wasn’t told to us. We felt so bad sending so much recycling to Devon land fill that we took it all home with us. Comfy beds, clean, beautifully furnished. Loved the homely touches. Welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits was nice. A fabulous stay. Would come again. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We will ensure that directions for recycling are clearer and thank you for that heads up. We are looking at installing a dishwasher where the small fridge is. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house and we had a super stay but important to highlight the amount of stairs in the house and also their steepness."

Very difficult for older people especially after a long climb up from Dartmouth. The upside is the fantastic view from the top balcony. Gorgeous views, comfy beds, lovely decor. Showers could do with updating though and in the kitchen I would take out the small fridge as there is already a large one and swap with a dishwasher. Love Dartmouth and loved the balcony and the terrace

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it. It is our plan to swap the small fridge with a dishwasher, and we will look at the shower situation. We are so happy that overall you enjoyed your stay. Michael. There is now a dishwasher and a new large fridge. Property Owner

  • "Spacious bedrooms with good views (except one on the ground floor) and the bathroom with shower and bath."

Good size lounge and dining room. An extra toilet was helpful. The kitchen was very small and narrow, but the view out from the window helped. There was a good sized fridge freezer in the dining room as well as the fridge under the worktop. The place looked cared and had warm feeling. There was no place to hung damp towels. No hook apart from the one on the door. It's a shame that there was no separate recycling bins, though the council seemed to operate recycling scheme. Fabulous view, but it meant walking up high to go home. We were fit and didn't mind, but if you are not as fit, it will be an uphill battle of about 15 mins from down town. There was always a space to park nearby, but once you drive up there, you'd only want to drive down to go home on narrow and steep street.

  • "Booked this for a last minute getaway."

The house was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Lovely views. The bedroom on the top floor was really lovely! Short walk in to the town, however it is quite a steep hill walking back up! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
