"Lovely home, very cosy and well-maintained."
Great location, easy to walk into town or off around the coastal path. We didn't move the car all week.
-
"Brilliant ………."
The location was perfect. Short walk to the center. Everything was provided for a relaxing stay. Accommodation was excellent overall. Only thing to be aware of is it’s tight to park your car if somebody is in the parking space next to you! We have a Volvo XC40 and we just managed it but had to move flower pots in Main Street to get out……..and only had a few centimeters between wall and side of car.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay here."
Your place is very nicely setup and adorned. Made for a great 4 nights in Dartmouth. Great position too, with only a short walk into the main harbour area. There was a little damage in the main bedroom en suite (tiles) but I'm sure that is tricky to sort in high season. Otherwise, everything was perfect. The narrow lane to the cottage, and parking there, did test your driving skills! But it was fine, and great to have a parking space at the dwelling.

"Everything was perfect, we loved our stay in this beautiful cottage."
Perfect location, within easy walking distance into town. Very well equipped, exceeded our expectations, the advert doesn't do it justice it is much nicer in reality. If we had one criticism it would be the road access instructions. The office from where we collected the keys should advise if you have a wide car to enter Clarence Hill from the top end, not the bottom. Once this is known getting to the property is much easier. We are very much looking forward to returning to this cottage, we loved it.
-
"Excellent accommodation and location."
Could have done with another rubbish bag and pump action soaps all had only a couple of millimetres of soap in them. Hardly worth mentioning, but you did ask!
-
"It was a little cold."
The dishwasher is not straight forward in terms of programming it, could do with instructions. Otherwise a lovely stay
-
"This is our 12th visit to Courtyard House as we love the cottage and the fact there is a parking space and not far to walk to restaurants etc."
Being re-cycling conscious it would be nice to know if our rubbish needs separating as nothing to tell us otherwise, I have mentioned this before. Also it would be nice to see a new “ table” in top bathroom as present one is rusty.Previous comments have been noted as there are more bowls etc in the kitchen, also egg cups so thankyou for taking note of our comments.

"A lovely cottage only minutes away from the centre of Dartmouth."
Very peaceful and cosy. Very clean and well presented. We had a very restful break and even though we've been to Dartmouth many times we actually found other parts of it to explore. The cottage is up a quiet, narrow lane with little outside noise. The only noise we heard was the steam train whistle which was actually really nice. The parking space is a rarety in Dartmouth but make sure you are confident at parking as the space is tight as is the lane up to the cottage. Please be aware the cottage is up a hill or steps and being over three floors wouldn't suit everyone. Those who are fit and able and can park, will love the cottage and the surrounding area. We would certainly book again.

"Fantastic stay at Courtyard house in October."
Great location with very short walk into town. House is very nicely furnashed with everything you require. Would highly recommend.
-
"10/10 to the cleaner."
. the cottage was spotless. Well equipped and comfortable. Ideal location. Did not need the car. Parking space was a bonus, although a little tight when car parked next door. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

"Cottage is very comfortable with everything you need."
We did find the wicker sofa quite large for the room and thought two smaller sofas probably would work but that's our personal taste. DVD player listed but we didn't find it. Premium having parking in Dartmouth. The road to the cottage is extremely narrow so you need to be confident driver especially when parking. Walking to the town is fine but the walk back could be difficult for some as it is steep in places. Great location for visiting surrounding areas with steam trains and boats as a choice if you would rather not drive. Many eating and drinking places all within walking distance. We can recommend Singing kettle for lunch and Floating bridge for evening meal. Dartmouth is a beautiful place hope to be back in the future.

"The accommodation was excellent very well equipped and comfortable and convenient for the harbour."

"If I were judging the property it would be an 'excellent'."
Beautiful house and super situation so near to the front/town. Only two things were a challenge : no oven gloves or tea towels (dangerous and a nuisance) and the so called parking area. The narrowness of the street though charming made it virtually impossible to get the car in IF AND WHEN THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR in the area! No mention of that in the description!! My car got scratched by the car of the owners in the opposite apartment coz they couldn't park while our car was there. My main gripe is with Coast &Cottages; : a) had to chase several times to get the final details to get in the house b) got cut off when we attempted to book the second week which was suddenly free c) when picking up the keys we were largely ignored by the staff in the office and d) I utterly object to stripping beds at the end of my stay - that's what we pay extra ,money to an agency for! Likely to avoid Coast and Country from now on.

"Absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, clean, very well equipped, attention to detail excellent, decor made it feel like home from home."
Will definately return
-
"Very comfortable property, spotlessly clean, tastefully presented."
Very well equipped and in ideal location. Highly recommended. We didn't use oven, washing machine or dishwasher but I'm sure others would find these very useful.
-
"A completely flawless holiday experience."
Courtyard cottage is lovely, 100 % completely equipped and located in a perfect spot of Dartmouth - quiet, but nevertheless central. We enjoyed our stay very much with excellent opportunities for walks. The Private parking place in the courtyard is really helpful as well. Top recommendation!
-
"This is our second visit to this lovely cottage, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with nice furnishings and comfy beds."
It has been nicely maintained. Would have liked some cleaning products in bathrooms if i had known there would be any i would have bought some with me, as like to keep things clean. But that is a minor issue. Great to have parking and very close to the town in a quiet road. The road is narrow in parts so be sure to check your car is able to fit!! Our Suzuki Vittara was no problem.

"The perfect Christmas in a beautifully presented home."
Delightfully decorated for Christmas, warm, cosy, comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished throughout. Ideally situated too. It really was home from home. We didn't want to leave. We had the most wonderful Christmas at Courtyard House & would highly recommend it. Our only tiny niggle was that the smart TV was old & consequently we couldn't watch some of the Christmas programmes we missed on i player etc. Catch up TV just wouldn't run & there was a lack of main smart TV channels. (The on line description of Courtyard House needs updating as tea towels & oven gloves were provided & there was no CD player). Very minor niggles which did not spoil out lovely holiday & Christmas. We would return at the drop of a hat! Paul & Gill

"This is a really nice place to stay."
Very well presented and appointed, comfortable and roomy. Really good for two people but with accommodation for four. The street is very quiet and has good access to Dartmouth. When they state that Clarence Hill is narrow, they mean it. We didn’t touch the car all week, which is no bad thing.
-
"Everything was wonderful apart from a bannister on the first staircase would be a good idea."
We took our 84 year old dear friend who is registered and is very unsteady on his feet so he was a bit worried about going up and down, a bannister would have provided more support and stability. Apart from that we found the property absolutely wonderful and would happily go back again sometime in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
-
"Could do with more lighting in the sitting room area."
Sorry that i-player and netflix could not be accessed on the TV. Copious instructions but none about how to open the windows!
-
"Lovely cottage which had obviously been re decorated and updated since the photos were taken."
Great to see the local artwork in the cottage. Would love to come back again.
-
"Nice stay, parking tricky but good to have"
-
"Great place and a great location with parking… essential in Dartmouth."
Actually we co- owned this cottage 10 years ago and wanted to experience it again. Will come back again in a couple of years. Cheers Richard
-
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The property is perfectly located a couple of streets back from the main area which means peace and quiet when needed. The street is as mentioned narrow, but manageable with due care. The space is fine too. Just keeps you on your toes if you’re not used to negotiating small areas! The owners have set the property out well and you can tell they have thought about pretty much everything. Thank you, it was just what we needed.
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Courtyard House."
Everything required was provided (except a Pizza cutter!). We were a little concerned as we approached the property by car as a road sign indicated '6 foot wide'. It needed careful negotiation to access the designated parking area, and ours' is not a big car. We travelled around the area and enjoyed the South Devon scenery although sadly it rained on each day, but it was warm, and it is Winter!
-
"Excellent cottage, exceptionally clean, well presented and maintained."
-
"The location was great and everything at the cottage met our requirements and Dartmouth itself was wonderful"
-
"This is our sixth year at Courtyard House, that means we like it."
Accessible to a supermarket, restaurants, ideal for older people. Slight slope to climb but seems harder than it actually is but maybe not for the less able bodied.Any criticism or observation regarding facilities was corrected by the next visit. Spotlessly clean which is so important during Covid times. Hopefully will return 2022

"From the moment we walked into the cottage we got the Wow Factor!"
We could not fault the cottage everything you needed fantastic. Very comfortable, great location with parking outside your door. Definitely one of the best Sykes cottages we have stayed in, looking forward to a return visit.
-
"A really lovely cottage in a fantastic location and with free parking as well!"
The cottage is fantastically appointed and the decor, facilities and equipment supplied was faultless. Absolutely loved it and would definitely go back to stay here again
-
"Really good location lots to do in area, lovely boat trips ideal Cottage very nice and homely."
-
"Lovely cottage, excellent facilities- apart from the front door which caused some stress in the first 2 days when trying to lock it!"
! Recommend Bantham beach of all the beaches we visited
-
"This is a lovely holiday cottage in a really convenient location to the centre of Dartmouth."
It is definitely one of the nicest cottages I've ever stayed in. The parking space is a huge bonus and whilst the access road is narrow, you soon get the hang of it and how to swing into the parking space! We had no problems with our saloon family-sized car (a large 4x4 might struggle a bit though...) I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.
-
"Possibly the cleanest and best equipped holiday cottage we’ve stayed in."
The location is great, and having an allocated parking space right outside the door is a massive plus. Genuinely can’t think of a criticism or a suggestion on how this cottage might be improved. Would not hesitate to book again or recommend to friends. Thank you.
-
"We enjoyed staying at Courtyard cottage ."
It had everything we could need .Very clean.Would like to stay again
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you had such an enjoyable stay and look forward to welcoming you back to Devon soon! Property Owner

"Courtyard House was the perfect getaway for us in these difficult times."
From the moment we got our keys and parked our car outside the cottage - wow! Parking in Dartmouth at any time is difficult so to have this was a real bonus. Everything was as expected and more. The owners have made a real home from home with a well equipped, well thought out living space on the ground floor and two, practical, stylish ensuite bedrooms on the floors above. It's an easy walk from Courtyard House to Dartmouth town centre and key side with all its attractions. There is an M&S food close by and plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops to suit all tastes. All in all a delightful stay in one of the best spots in Dartmouth.
-
"Had a wonderful holiday in Dartmouth."
Easy collection of keys. The cottage was beautiful. Fully equipped. Home from home with everything you would need. Easy walking distance into the centre of Dartmouth with restaurants and facilities nearby. Could not fault it. We also had wonderful weather all week which was a bonus. Would definitely go back to this property again.
-
"It’s great this house comes with a parking space but as access is very narrow perhaps add in a caveat that larger cars may be more difficult to park at the property."
This just gives people the heads up. Thanks.
-
"We had a wonderful relaxing week - the cottage was really well equipped, cosy and very comfortable."
It was also reassuring to find it scrupulously clean during this unfortunate current climate.
-
"The cottage was perfectly clean and the Christmas decorations and wine, coffee and tea left for us greatly appreciated and I have to say surprising."
It was all very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
-
"Fifth time at Courtyard so obviously love the place."
Only criticism is that every year have found the duvets very heavy with no other choice. Also, as Dartmouth is expensive to eat out, there isn't enough smaller Pyrex type dishes to use in oven. Also it would be handy to have all the re.cycling information on display as we would like to help as much as possible but every County has its own procedures. On the positive side it is accessible to the town and its facilities and the office is handy for any personal enquiries. Because of the service we have received over the years we hope to spend many more years at Courtyard House.
-
"Courtyard House is like a home from home, you have everything you need."
The furnishings and fittings are of a very high standard. It's a lovely place to come home to after a day out. Everything went smoothly from the time of booking, staff so nice to deal with.
-
"The extremely high standard of the property especially two bathrooms was an added bonus especially with teenagers."
The only slight disappointment was the outside furniture is in need of replacement and to really exceed expectation maybe a small welcome pack of tea/coffee/biscuits and milk for when you first arrive.
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage!"
Maybe advice customers to drive down to the property rather than up as incredibly narrow, Dart marina facilities an absolute plus, would definitely recommend the whole package! Thank you
-
"This is a well equipped, comfortable and nicely furnished and decorated house."
We found the bed comfy and the situation was quiet. In the master bedroom there is a really good sized wardrobe and a chest of drawers plus bedside tables, all with plenty of storage. The shower was good and both bathrooms well designed with everything you need. Parking is always a bonus in dartmouth so that was most welcome. The balcony was lovely to sit out on although maybe the furniture could be changed there as a little rusty and not too comfy to sit on (although there were seat pads) This was the only little complaint. It was nice to have tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival, however a small milk would be good as after a long journey a hot drink is most welcome. we would definately recommend this property.

"Had a lovely week here in Dartmouth."
The Cottage was well equipped, in a great location and with the bonus of a parking space, and use of the pool at The Dart Marina Hotel and Spa was a definite plus ! Thank you.
Many thank's for your positive comments and feedback, we hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

"Balcony outlook is a brick wall so didn’t use ."
Sofa in lounge is wicker material and more like garden or conservatory furniture very uncomfortable so sat on a bed instead ! £620 for what is in effect 3 1/2 days for 2 people very poor value and a lesson learnt for us !
Many thanks for your feedback following your recent holiday, although it was disappointing to hear that the property did not meet your expectations and you felt misled by the images of the property. We do not mention any views in the description and feel that the property is accurately described on our website. Wherever possible, we try to find the most suitable property for our guests and if you had kindly contacted the team at the time of booking we would have been happy to have answered any questions you may have had in respect of the views or anything else. It was also disappointing to read that you felt this property did not offer value for money; compared to similar 4 star properties in the area we feel it is priced favourably. In addition, at the end of your stay a late check out was also offered as a goodwill gesture. Please contact us at any time to discuss our wide range of alternative 4 star properties in Dartmouth and the surrounding areas. We will be happy to help you choose a more suitable property for your next stay. Once again, many thanks for taking the time to leave your comments, we hope that you will book another holiday with us in the future. Property Owner

"Perfect holiday home for us, a family of four."
No garden but nice balcony with table and 4 chairs for evening drinks. Parking very useful. Well furnished, very tasteful decor, as my wife said, a home from home. The Spa membership was an added bonus which we used every day.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your stay at Courtyard House in Dartmouth. It is wonderful to hear that you and your family had a brilliant holiday at this lovely property. We are so glad that the accommodation itself, and its Dart Marina Spa Membership, suited you and your family so well. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

"This our 4th time at Courtyard House."
We really like it: great position with easy access into town and a parking space! Our only slightly negative comment is that the sofa needs a bit of re-plumping!
It was pleasing to receive your kind review in respect of your recent short break (and fourth visit) to Courtyard House in Dartmouth. We were delighted to read your comments regarding our service - thank you. Your feedback regarding the sofa, has been passed on to the owners. We do hope you had an enjoyable stay and look forward to welcoming you back to the Dartmouth area again for the fifth time! The Team at Coast & Country Cottages Property Owner

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
