"We had a lovely time staying at Crew Cottage."
The owner was excellent and straight on to getting a new washing machine when it wouldn’t work, The house was excellent for our needs and very comfortable.
-
"The accommodation was comfortable but the bathroom and the kitchen definitely needs some TLC."
Also to note that the front bedroom is very noisy with traffic passing by and a very noisy loud bus route!

"We really enjoyed our stay at Crew House."
Good location 5 minutes walk from town. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable lounge diner. Very comfy beds. Upstairs terrace nice for a drink on a warm evening.

"The bathroom needs some TLC, the skirting board is coming away from the wall and the paintwork needs a touch-up."
Apart from that the place was lovely and we had a great stay.

"We had a very nice few days at Crew House."
Location is particularly great. HOWEVER, on the last night as I was getting into bed, I noticed a small black bug crawling in the duvet. I looked around and noticed there was a quite a few more on the base of the divan beds in the twin room, as well as in the carpet, and on the curtains. It really unnerved me as I cannot cope with creepy crawlies! It really ruined my holiday to be honest. I didn’t think it fair to write a review initially, so I e-mailed Sykes direct, however they offered absolutely no apology and said they would pass it on to local team. I recently received another e-mail from them, clearly sent in error, which was meant for someone else who also stayed at Crew House. Coincidentally, they had also complained about bugs in the house, which Sykes are claiming are ‘grains of dirt’ - dirt does not crawl? As there was no apology, no action taken, and I’m obviously not the only one who has experienced this, I felt I had no other option than to write this review and make others aware.
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at Crew House and our local team, as discussed with you privately, did send pest control to Crew House on your departure and did not find any bugs. We did also apologise at the time and again in August when you contacted us and the web message you received was in response to your web message to the team, not sent in error. We hope you enjoyed your time in Dartmouth and hope to welcome you back to the area again. The owner relations team, on behalf of Property Owner

"Very comfortable and clean."

"We really enjoyed our week at Crew House."
It was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is well stocked and probably the best we’ve had in years of self catering holidays. The beds were comfy and the shower was nice and hot. The walk up from the car park is steep at the end, and the stairs to get to the front door are also steep, but hand rails help. We didn’t have the weather on our side so didn’t get to use the small terrace unfortunately, but the living room was very comfy. My husband particularly likes the little chair so now we are on a hunt to find one for our house! There is a good selection of games, books and DVDs. The tv is not a smart tv, so no access to anything like Netflix, which would have been nice given the terrible weather, but we made do. The only point I’d raise is that the wardrobes in the front bedroom smell like cigarette smoke. I don’t know if this is coming from next door, but perhaps an odour neutraliser inside would help? We would highly recommend a stay here, it was perfect for our family (2 adults, a child l, a toddler and a small dog) and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Crew House, it is just a short walk from the centre of Dartmouth."
The property was a nice size for a family of 4 although the stairs can be a little tricky for small ones. The little terrace is a sun trap in the day it is sheltered from the winds and it was nice to have that space on the first level. The downstairs can be a little cooler so bare that in mind for the evenings and mornings, although you can always pop the heating on. We did find that the downstairs smelt of dog but we did report this and hopefully that has been sorted. We would recommend staying here and would book again.

"The cottage was lovely, clean and very comfy beds."
In a perfect location too. Some more cutlery would have been useful as only 4 of each provided.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
