  • "Lovely property in great location."

Very stylish with all mod cons. Bed and pillows a little uncomfortable, but that's personal preferance. Only real let down was the state of the communal hallway which is in need of a good clean.

  • "Dishwasher not usable due to poor fitting."

Reported it but not no action taken

Thank you for your feedback, we are very sorry that this was not resolved within your stay. We will always act swiftly in response to any maintenance issues. It is a shame that in this case it was not brought straight to the local offices attention. We have since been able to rectify the issues with the dishwasher. We do hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay at Tides Door. Property Owner

  • "Lovely flat with a great spacious feel."

Well equipped with perhaps a few too many nick nacks for families with younger children!! The only negative is the first impression created by the common entrance- always a bone of contention regarding cleaning and maintaining. A really great flat that has been refurbished with high quality fittings. A central location and very highly recommended. Many thanks

  • "Great property overall."

Large, bright, attractive rooms. Very comfortable beds and sofas. Stylish and quality kitchen and bathrooms. Ideal location- no sea view but that is clear in the listing and reflected in the price. Minor negative was that some of the paintwork is peeling, as acknowledged before our arrival. We enjoyed getting the ferries to Kingwear and Dittisham for pub lunch, and doing sections of the costal path to various beaches. Stunning views everywhere we went.

  • "The bathroom door lock on the same floor as the kitchen/ dining room needs attention as doesn’t lock or even close properly."

When 6 people are sharing you want to feel confident when showing or using the toilet that someone will not come in, so disappointing. The entrance could do with a clean downstairs. We enjoyed our stay there and have stayed at lots of properties over the last 25 years of coming to Dartmouth.

Thank you so much for the feedback and we will be looking at fixing the bathroom door and lock, thanks for bringing this to our attention. The entrance hallway is a shared access and not part of the home but we will ensure this is looked at and tidied up. We really hope to see you back in Dartmouth again and really appreciate the honest feedback. Property Owner

  • "The apartment is clean and modern with lovely original features."

All bedrooms were big and spacious. The kitchen well equipped with full size fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There’s a washing machine upstairs. Three toilets and showers in total and a lovely big bath. The sitting area in the breakfast diner was a bonus and the window great for people watching as it looks out on one of the shopping streets. I was expecting more noise early morning and late evening being so central but it was pretty quiet. On the last night I left the ensuite window open and woke to the smell of freshly cooking croissants from the Cornish bakery next door. Not an unpleasant experience! The beds were all very comfortable and lots of hanging room for clothes including plenty of hangers. Loved the blue tooth speakers in each of the bedrooms. Only slight issue for me was not being able to keep the window in the bedroom with the ensuite open without propping it with something. I’m of a certain age where I need a cold room to sleep but I’m sure wouldn’t bother most. Car parking was easy even on a bank holiday when we arrived. As soon as we had the keys we were able to put the pass in the car window. We didn’t bother trying to park outside the apartment as the car park was only a two minute walk. I loved the fact that we didn’t have to use the car at all once we were there. There is a co-op a couple of doors from the apartment and a Marks & Spencer‘s food hall a few minutes walk away. On the doorstep are plenty of Cafes, restaurants and pubs. Be aware if there is a particular place that you would like to eat, it is best to pre-book as some places are fully booked by the day before. We can highly recommend the café Dudley’s for breakfast or a cream tea, the Seven Stars for an amazing lunch or the Royal Castle for another great meal. We also tried the George and Dragon on our last evening. Everywhere we went, the service was exceptional despite it being incredibly busy. We used the river boat for a cruise up to Totnes. We made the mistake of going straight there and straight back rather than wander round Totnes for a few hours. We also got the ferry over to the steam train and had an enjoyable ride to Paignton but were very keen to come back as Paignton is not as nice as Dartmouth! Also recommend getting the ferry to the castle and walking back. There are some amazing views and lovely houses to look at on the way. However, as lovely as the other houses were nothing beats this apartment for locality and style. We are already planning on coming back later this year! Dartmouth is our new favourite place and Tides Door ideal for our needs.

  • "A fantastic property, right in the heart of Dartmouth filled with everything you could need."

Do not be alarmed when you step through the doorway off the street, a scruffy hallway (common parts) leads to a fabulous home. Bright, spacious, immaculately clean and tidy and a hand written welcome note and bottle of prosecco to greet us! The managing agents at Coast & Country were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!

  • "Generally a great holiday let."

Tastefully decorated and lots of additions such as books, games and fab kitchen facilities. Amazing location for exploring. However, with being rated 5*, I wouldn’t expect the complimentary tea tray to have uht milk cartons 10 months out of date and I would also expect a better welcome pack. All the plug in air fresheners were empty - again just a little attention to detail. The approach to the property really lets the apartment down. The smell of drains and damp dogs from the adjoining property really were not a great first impression. Because of this we were unable to leave our coats downstairs on the coat hooks as they started to have the same smell as the entrance.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We will take this up with the supplier and alert our housekeeping team to keep an eye on this as well as ensuring the plug ins are full. We are pleased to advise the neighbour with a dog has moved on and the shared corridor is free of any doggy smell. Property Owner

  • "Good location although approach to flat somewhat 'trollish' and the actual property was poorly signed."

Very comfortable , great sized rooms and comfortable beds. Pity about lack of infant's facilities- no cots, high chairs or stair gates but we managed. Also would expect a better welcome pack with a 5 star property - was a lot better at the Sykes property we stayed at in Weymouth last year. Prosecco was welcome but one tea bag , 4 coffee pads and no milk was somewhat stingy . It's these little things that matter -otherwise 5 star all round.

Thank you for the constructive feedback which we have taken on board. We have since added additional signage to the property which should make it easier to find on arrival. With regards to the facilities for infants, we have added a hair chair for our guests to use. We have also since created our own Welcome Packs which are more comprehensive than the Sykes packs. These include things like tea, coffee, milk and biscuits plus washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, a sponge, cloth and washing tablets. We also can’t forget the prosecco of course Property Owner
