  • "A wonderful apartment with three balconies offering stunning views across the River Dart."

The internal decking allows you to take in the great views if the weather comes over all British. There a 40 steps down to the property but you are in Devon and it is hilly. Dartmouth is great although parking is not easy in the town so I wish we'd have known about the free parking permit. Would happily stay in Manor Studio again at any time of the year.

  • "The stone steps up and down to the property and the surrounding area are a little hard going but worth the climb for the views you get."

Hips ached at the end of the stay but it as a fabulous place to stay. Hard to get the car near the property to unload due the narrow roads so drove the car up the following morning at 5.30 a.m so as not to cause any hold ups to any other cars but a small price to pay for such a lovely home to holiday in.

  • "Love it at Manor Studio and been several times before."

A few home comforts would be nice -a couple of throws in the lounge for chilly evenings and I think at least a bottle of milk in the fridge on arrival would be appreciated. I run a holiday let and our agents would not accept us not leaving a welcome basket - our guests get a cream tea / bottle of wine plus biscuits, chocolates etc as well as milk on arrival and flowers on the table. The views make it all worthwhile though to be honest and we did really enjoy our stay.

  • "The property is fantastic, very well maintained and lovely smell and feel to it."

However, may the property be fantastic, it comes with a warning ! To get to it is NOT suitable for older people (60 plus) as the steps to get to the property are simply very dangerous. I am sure if you ask, Sykes (et al) will furnish you with a representative photo of what people are saying. Lest, the risk thy own, it was worth it for us !!

The sofas were very hard and uncomfortable and were an issue. The steepness of the steps was not indicated and could be an issue for some people.

  • "If you wish to enjoy the best views in Dartmouth, Manor Studio must have some of the best, if not the best."

I spent hours on the balcony, fabulous. The flat was spotlessly clean on my arrival, excellent !. The negatives.... whether you're sat watching TV or on the balcony enjoying the views, you will be sat on garden furniture, (even 4 spare garden chairs stored in the lounge) very uncomfortable garden furniture at that. From the flat I could see people lounging in their gardens on better furniture than the flat has. During the summer it is bad enough but I imagine if spending long winter evenings at the property, watching TV would become very unpleasant. Wicker furniture, no where to put your arms, dreadful. There are a few other bits and bobs that need addressing, but on the whole a super flat. Alas, having stayed here twice the steps have got the better of me, at almost 70, a sole occupant negotiating the steps with luggage has beaten me, I can't endure that experience again. (Due to the single track road that accesses the flat and to prevent obstruction to a minimum, it is necessary to get all your luggage to the top of the steps, leaving it unaccompanied while collecting your car from the car park on the other side of town. I suggest that you use one of the neighbours 'bays' to turn the car around and leave the property by the same direction by which you approached ) I have another flat booked with Sykes in September but one on street level. If it were not for the steps I would have chosen the Manor Studio without doubt. The double bed is comfortable and the flat well equipped, as mentioned before a couple of further small points that need addressing but are un note worthy, simply frustrating.

  • "We booked this apartment for the view, it was too die for, absolutely fantastic."

Just a pity of position to get to and from. Access was just as it said, we are quite fit 61 year olds but the steps to it were challenging. Loading in and out with all our luggage was most challenging!!!! Won't book again for this reason. Having said that we enjoyed another beautiful week at the music

  • "What a fabulous apartment!"

Comfortable and very well equipped. The views are amazing. The steps could be tricky for some and the bridge/walkway not suitable for those who don't like heights, but if that doesn't bother you then this is a perfect spot. We would happily return for another stay!!

Fabulous to be able to sit on the balconies and watch the river. Sofa cushions now replaced so fairly comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped.

  • "Manor studio was very clean and had everything we needed, but it's not a good place to relax on a rainy day for one reason, the sofas."

There are two in the lounge area and they are both awful. They are uncomfortable with rock hard cushions. I like to relax and read on a rainy day without having to do so lying on a bed. Everything else was great, but the lack of a comfy sofa does make a difference. I'm not a fan of wicker conservatory furniture.

Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Agree with previous comment that the sofa's are hard. The weather was not great but it didn't matter as the accommodation was very warm and the views fantastic. The description of the steps and uneven floor are accurate but did not detract from our enjoyment of staying at Manor studio. We would book to stay here again

  • "This property had fantastic views and was very modern comfortable and clean."

The kitchen was well equipped and had a dishwasher which is a bonus. The owners are very thoughtful, there was a rechargeable torch plugged in the hallway to use of a night-time. it wouldn't suit anyone with walking difficulties as there are several steps to the property which are very steep. Also the floors slope in the apartment which might be disconcerting. the road is steep and very narrow to negotiate with a car and there isn't any parking facilities. The apartment comes with a parking permit for the car park in Dartmouth, this was around a 10 minute walk. We enjoyed our stay in Dartmouth,we especially enjoy morning coffee sitting watching the river Dart.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. Manor Studio is in a unique location, benefitting from stunning views! This location does mean that the property is not for everyone. We are glad that you had an enjoyable stay and look forward to welcoming you again in the future! Property Owner

  • "Manor Studios was superb."

Both bedrooms and the living room had fantastic views of the river Dart. The best view I've ever had with a holiday let. The bed was really comfortable. The decor tasteful and muted. Kitchen appliances and utensils were all good quality. It was great to have the use of the washer/dryer in the laundry shed. Nice to have an en-suite with a bath, and a separate bathroom with shower. Large TV, the use of a stereo and two coffee tables, one just the right size for a 500 piece jigsaw meant we were happy to stay in the flat on our only rainy day. We are already looking forward to staying here again in a couple of years time.

  • "We loved the views."

They are quite spectacular. Generous sized bedrooms and very comfy beds. Great bathrooms. Only negatives are the settees are too firm and the lounge floor slopes quite dramatically! Can't do anything about that though. I would love to visit again, it's a lovely place to stay.

  • "The apartment has fabulous views across the estuary from both bedrooms and the living room, and as 2 couples sharing we particularly appreciated the separate balconies, where we could all enjoy the views while remaining socially spaced."

It was clean and sufficiently spacious for our needs, and well-equipped. The listing was accurate in that it explained about the steps: it is quite a climb down to the property, and does require a degree of fitness - but we felt it was worth it! It is also made clear that there is no parking at the property, but we found that the provision of a space at the Mayor's Avenue car park worked well, as it's only a 10 minute walk away, and it was possible to drive to the property to drop off luggage. Communication from Coast and Country was effective and pick up and drop off of keys straightforward.

Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town.
