This is our third year at Nookie Cottage and we love it, the location, the comfort and the parking space make it a perfect place for us to stay in Dartmouth

  • "Lovely, comfy cottage and provided everything we needed."

Welcome pack of Prosecco, milk and shortbread was a nice, helpful treat. Only gripe which was out of your control was different people parked over the parking bay a few times, despite the notices. Sykes hols want customers to do everything for them via their website and it was difficult to get help over phone which was annoying.

Marion, Really glad you enjoyed your stay at Nookie Cottage. We are sorry about the parking issue. We have not experienced this before, so hopefully it is a temporary problem. Many thanks, Chris & Jackie Property Owner

  • "Great cottage in fantastic position There was a pumping noise that lasted most of the night in the top bedroom but we soon got used to it."

Thanks for the positive comments and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I think he noise you are referring to is the bathroom extractor fan in the attached cottage. Perhaps they left it on. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage within easy walking distance of town centre."

Clean and tidy with all equipment available. Only one shower so if a extra could be fitted in top bathroom it would make a great improvement as just one shower is not enough for four adults. Parking is only for a small car and we had to park away from property. Another point is the mattresses could updated. We would recommend this place and would stay again.

Thank you for the positive feedback and we hope you will stay with us again. We recently refurbished the second floor bathroom and installed bath taps with a hand held shower attachment. Unfortunately the sloping ceiling does easily allows us to install a stand alone shower. The bath is also useful for guests with small children. The property details do state that the parking is suitable for a small/medium car. I do park my C class Mercedes in the space. Kind regards, Chris & Jackie Property Owner

  • "A lovely stay at Nookie cottage with a great location, ease of access to town centre 400 meters away with a nice flat walk."

Cosy and comfortable, but as clearly stated, parking is only for a very small car and stairs to in the cottage to top floor are very steep with low head room, so care is to be taken. As always Dartmouth was lovely.

  • "We absolutely loved this accommodation but the parking was a real problem."

We came thinking we could leave the car on the drive and forget all about it but this was not possible due to there being a car on next door’s drive. This meant we were unable to get ours on Nookie cottage’s drive. We played musical car parks all week which was costly and frustrating! The market square car park is free (and close by) but getting a space there is the hard bit. The park and ride is also an option but we didn’t like the thought of leaving the car so far away from nookie cottage. The cottage itself is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly want for the week stay (apart from enough toilet roll - pack some extra to last the week!). We will most likely return next year as we loved the cottage and it’s location but we will be bringing my mini so we can definitely fit on the driveway!

Kerrie, Sorry to hear about the parking problems. It is tight, but we get our C class Mercedes on the drive even when there is a car parked next door. Glad you enjoyed the cottage and we look forward to welcoming you back. Kind regards, Chris & Jackie Property Owner

The parking space was a bit tight but we got our mid size car in the space. Excellent location, loved the shower. If I had one niggle the bed was a tad soft. All in all an excellent stay and will go back

Well equipped kitchen & even had sharp knives!! Loved the coffee/drinks station. You need to list stuff like the hairdryer & straighteners on the website & then I wouldn’t have packed my own. Nicely decorated & maintained and easy to use heating & hot water.

Parking space a bonus in Dartmouth no problems getting our car in it. Easy short walk into town. Top floor access not for everyone and as previously mentioned wouldn’t have wanted to be in the cottage with 4 adults fine for family.

  • "Lovely, warm and cosy period cottage with traditional features but all modern conveniences, including Nespresso coffee machine."

Lovely quality crockery, cutlery etc and sharp kitchen knives, which are so often lacking. Comfortable bed. It was just two of us so we used the first floor bedroom and generously sized shower room, but there was another double and a single room on the second floor with a bathroom with a bath. Bed linen was good quality. Good access to internet and Smart TV apps and lovely, easy to use, gas fire to take the chill off when necessary. Appreciated the bottle of bubbly and initial supply of milk, tea bags, coffee capsules, dishwasher tablets and wash capsules (a second kitchen bin liner would have been useful). Like others we found the car park space tight, especially when the neighbouring space is occupied. My hatchback is described as compact by its manufacturer but at most it's small mid-sized, but it was a squeeze and you have to reverse in or you can't get out of the car. If we had been more than two plus a small dog and driven a larger car we wouldn't have been able to use the space. The ground floor area of the cottage is lovely, but again, we were only two and it would have been tight for space with 4 adults. Very easy walking distance of everything in town. We particularly liked the Dart Cafe as the dog was warmly welcomed. We drove to Brixham via the lower ferry, and went to Kingswear as foot passengers to ride the steam train and back. Easy access to the South Coast Path on a good day too.

Thanks for the comprehensive review and positive feedback. Glad you enjoyed our cottage and beautiful Dartmouth. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "Cosy cottage."

Good fire, comfortable sofa and only a short walk to the centre of Dartmouth. Spacious bathroom on the first floor. Second double bedroom is small. The floor in the main bedroom slopes so it would be good to put something under the bed to level the bed. You can hear the neighbours walking about next door. We thought it was a nice little cottage.

Thanks for the positive feedback. We are glad you got to experience the charms of staying in a 200 year old cottage ;-) Property Owner
