"A beautiful house, sympathetically restored and decorated in the heart of Dartmouth."
Within walking distance of the town, river and all the historic buildings. We would recommend the train/bus/boat trip. We really enjoyed our stay.

"It is a lovely house, generally well appointed but there was no plug for the sink in the bathroom, also with the bathroom cupboard being directly over the sink, it would have been impossible to wash one's face without banging your head."
The bath has no anti-slip protection and so was very slippery when having a shower, we only used it once and all shared the shower room instead. If there had been 8 people, there was only seating for 6 at either table. It must be difficult to keep the terrace clean with the plants in the guttering above shedding leaves etc.down on to it, however it had not been swept or washed for some considerable time. It would have been useful to have a folder with tourist leaflets so that during the evening you could plan the following day. There was no facility to recycle bottles, jars, or cardboard packaging although there was plenty of room to provide it in the garage.
Hi Mrs Morgan. We appreciate your thoughts, as often it highlights things for us to sort out. The plug going missing is frustrating but easy for us to replace. We had not found a problem with the bathroom cupboard previously but will have a look to see if it can be moved. We have added a non slip mat and grab handle for the second bathroom/shower room as I agree it makes getting out of the bath or shower easier. I am not sure if you read / found the house information pack, with additional leaflets? It explains that we pay for all the rubbish to be collected and then sorted so that anything that can be recycled is. It also lists local recycling points if you want to do it yourself. It also mentions several spare chairs in the garage to add to the 6 already at the expandable table. Lastly we have reminded our cleaning company to freshen up the terrace during the house cleans. We hope that you had a good time in our house and in Dartmouth and will be back soon! Phil & Vanessa Property Owner

"Great location."
The layout of the house worked well for us as a group of seven and we never felt on top of each other. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. My only request would be for a few board games or card games to be supplied for something to do on those rainy nights.
Thanks for the positive feedback Emma. Having some board games is a good idea - we will bring some next time we come to stay ourselves. Phil & Vanessa Property Owner

"Black out curtains would be good in 1st floor front bedroom also a TV."
Hi Julie, thanks for the suggestions. We have now changed the curtains to black out curtains. The house does have 3 TVs already, and adding another TV into the large main bedroom is something we will look at doing if we can. Phil & Vanessa Property Owner

"A comfortable house, nicely decorated."
The courtyard is not really usable because of noise and smell from industrial extractor fan from the takeaway next door. The location is a short walk from the centre but is opposite a very noisy pub and next door to a pizza takeaway shop. Not very salubrious! We had some problems with the remote which opens the garage door. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. The garage is very narrow and difficult to use without scraping your car - even a small car like ours! Despite double yellow lines outside we found access to the garage frequently blocked.
Thanks for taking time to give us feedback on our house. We're glad you found our house comfortable and appreciated the recent redecoration. The house is Grade II listed, giving it character and it's position in the heart of Dartmouth, close to the river and old market. This does mean that occasionally you can hear the sounds of the town. The neighbouring pizza parlour vents 4 floors up to meet planning rules. The fan hum when it is open, is more in the background than being intrusive. Sorry that you had problems using the garage remote control even after we sent a new remote. We have had it checked since and it appears to be working normally. We've now arranged for the council to repaint the faded double yellow lines to stop people parking in front of our garage. We are lucky to have a prized and sought after garage. It does need care when entering but worth it to take the stress out of finding a scarce parking space! We hope that you were able to enjoy your stay in Dartmouth. Vanessa & Phil Property Owner

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth.
