"Our 2nd stay here."
Its a lovely apartment right in the centre of Dartmouth with all the facilities you could ask for. A bit quirky with the floor levels due to the age of the property but we love it so much we have booked again for next year, which for us is very unusual

"A very nice presented and homely apartment."
Ideally located for all the shops, pubs, restaurants and other facilities in Dartmouth. Only complaint there were two side lights not working in the lounge. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

"This is a lovely apartment situated right in the heart of the town."
Beautifully decorated and as a very old building, having the quirkiness of the wonky walls and floors, made our stay even more memorable. Our one request would be to upgrade the pillows in the bedrooms, they are all very lumpy. Other than that it was a perfect stay so much so that we have booked to come back again next year.

"The location was perfect for what we wanted, having the quayside and shops just a few minutes walk away."
The property was clean and had all the facilities we expected. The only downside to the property is the single glazed sash windows; the seagull dawn chorus and the bin lorry collecting right outside during the early hours of the morning didn't make for a good night's sleep on the first day (not to mention the nearby church bell ringing the hour, every hour). Earplugs are a must if you're a light sleeper. We had to collect the keys from the key box on the side of the office as we were arriving after hours. Putting the address into Google maps sent us to an estate agents office a little walk away from where we needed to be. Would be a good idea to provide a What 3 Words address or similar for late arrivals. However, we found it in the end and had a fantastic few days stay. Would recommend to anyone with ear plugs :)

"Lovely property, great location, 5 stars all round."
It is right in the centre of town so was a little noisy but if you're purely using the property as a base this won't be an issue. The house is quirky, beds really comfortable and it was spotless. We would stay here again, thank you.

Never gad a bad property with sykes holiday cottages This one in Dartmouth was perfect Definitely will be using them again

"Beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped."
A quirky property in centre of tiwn - just a few steps from the river front. Great to have three double bedrooms. Quite quiet despite central position. Floors, stairs and ceilings all a bit wonky due to the age of the building but we loved how these features were emphasised by crooked pucture hangng etc rather than trying to hide them We will definitely be back. Staff at the nearby office where you collect keys were very helpful and parking permit in nearby carpark made our stay mch easier.

"We all loved staying at the Clock House."
It was such a great position. Luckily the 2nd car found an unlimited parking space nearby and the other parked in the designated Mayors Car Park nearby. The furnishings were all very good, comfortable beds and really everything you could want. We did think 5.00 to collect the key was a bit late in order to get unpacked etc without wasting a whole evening especially as we were only staying 3 nights!

"A lovely property."
Very clean, comfortable and perfectly located. We all had a wonderful stay. Just a couple of minor points that you might want to consider though: Provision of a couple of disposable dishcloths/sponge cleaners would be very useful and inexpensive. A check on the drainage from the kitchen needs to be looked at as it's very slow, so might need a good clear out with some soda crystals or something similar to get rid of any build up. I mentioned, when returning the keys, about the damaged 'director's chairs in our room. It was already broken when we arrived on Friday. Other than that, perfection! Thank you. Susie Mears

"We had a lovely holiday in Dartmouth."
The little clock house was perfect for us. The location was spot on, central to everything. The apartment was clean and had all that we needed. The only thing we would say is there was no information about the area from the owners, most places we have stayed had a folder with local information. We have always found this helpful and informative and a nice friendly way to welcome visitors to their property. We had a very long journey 12 hours so we arrived late, we needed to go out and search for a shop to buy milk for a drink. Usually there is a welcome pack with simple basic things. It’s the little things that make a difference. Once we found our bearings we had a lovely holiday staying in the clock house and the very beautiful Dartmouth.

"Had a lovely stay in this apartment."
Very well located to local shops/ restaurants etc. was surprised how quiet it was for such a central location. Dartmoor is a beautiful town and will definitely visit again. Coast and country cottages were also most helpful with any problems. I would suggest getting a bath mat for the shower as my elderly mother nearly slipped. Would have preferred thicker curtains as I found the bedroom very bright so woke up really early in the mornings, but this probably wouldn’t be an issue for a lot of people. Would recommend staying here.

"Wonderfully clean and well equipped home."
The location is second to none. The decor may not win any style awards but it is all good quality and in fine working order (super comfy beds and huge travel cot, lots of storage). Thank you for letting us stay.

"Stayed before at The Clock House."
So that speaks for itself

"Fantastic location if "in-town" is what you want, and we did."
Observations - (1) the small bathroom's extractor fan didn't work so the bathroom got overwhelmed with steam, I mentioned this to the person when I dropped off the key. (2) the small bathroom's door catches on the floor when you open/close it and is extremely annoying. (3) There were oven gloves and tea towels supplied but the description emphasized there weren't for some reason. So we took our own for no reason. Annoying - (1) the small bathroom is actually painfully small, you cannot sit on the loo properly and exiting the shower is just dangerous as the WC is in the way. We ended up all using the larger bathroom with aged grandmother which was what we were trying to avoid in the first place by choosing a property with 2 bathrooms. (2) The big rubbish bin in the kitchen is awful as you have to press down one side with your hand, it needs to be a pedal bin. (3) The position of the dishwasher right next to the sink means you can't get to anything when it's door is open.

"Loved staying in the little clock house, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay again!"

"Good location right in the town for people who are not going to be very active."
A little noisy in late evening because of people coming out from the pubs but other times fine. Parking in car park worked fine for us even though it was really busy time.

"Great location."
Comfortable accommodation and the parking permit very useful. One gripe - the taps in the kitchen were very hard to turn on and off!
-
"The Little Clock House was very central close to all amenities shops pubs restaurants and the River Dart, lovely apartment although does slope in many places due to the age of the building."
The seagulls are very noisy early morning and the nearby clock chimes every hour so you can be sure to awake early. The parking permit was very welcome as parking can be difficult in the town and expensive. Lots of things to see and do around Dartmouth and surrounding areas - enjoyed the holiday and would return.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes.
