  • "Comfortable, warm and well equipped with a stunning view over the sea."

Easy access to walks along the sea wall and the South West Coast path. Bus stop right outside the door and local trains on the famous English Riviera line if you don't want to use your car. Really enjoyed our stay.

Delighted you enjoyed your stay at No. 10 (Dawlish)! This is a lovely area & very accessible. We hope to welcome you again. Maggie Property Owner

  • "The property is in a good position, being situated with a bus stop towards Teignmouth right outside, and to Exeter within 50 yards across the road."

We walked to the railway station to get the train westwards and the walk took a quarter of an hour ( I can't walk very fast ). We were very comfortable . The weather was a bit changeable so the superb view of the sea was sometimes quite spectacular.

Yes…the bus service is good - as is the train service (when not on strike!). Dawlish is the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful South West & you made the most of your stay here. St Julien is ideal for relaxing after a day travelling - as you say ‘very comfortable’ & ‘the superb view of the sea was sometimes quite spectacular’. I’m delighted you enjoyed. A little tip to say there are two short cuts to cross the railway and get on to the beach at Dawlish. We were not aware and walked into Dawlish and along the promenade which was a trek. Thank you to Maggie for sharing her home. We were lucky with the weather and had the doors open to the sea-view until late at night.

Delighted you enjoyed Dawlish Warren & Teignmouth - both have lots to offer & the great weather is ‘the icing on the cake’ Hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "This apartment is incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay."

Despite it being on a busy road and with the train track in front it really was not noisy. Great location as you are just outside of the main town but it’s a few minutes walk and you are in the heart of it. I don’t drive so it was an ideal location you can hop straight on the train. The bus stops are literally just outside also. The contact I had with Maggie was great, just the right amount to let me know if I had a problem I could reach out and she’d help but not at all intrusive. Finally I have to mention the most important thing…..the view! I happily sat for hours staring out to sea it was incredibly relaxing. When I first went into the apartment I wasn’t sure about the scope being there but it turns out it’s great fun and also quite relaxing, who knew! I would happily stay here again it was amazing the only thing to bear in mind is most places in Dawlish seemed to close at 4pm but you get the hang of the slower pace of life quite quickly.

It was much larger than we expected from the photos and we hadn’t realised the bedroom had an en-suite. It’s a lovely clean modern, well appointed and comfortable flat with a fantastic sea view and in a great location for exploring Devon. There are bus stops outside to access Exeter and nearby resorts. The free off road parking is a real benefit. Maggie is an excellent unintrusive host, available if necessary. Would definitely return again.

  • "An excellent choice for an escape to the south Devon coast."

St Julien does exactly what it says on the listing and the views of the sea from the open plan living space really is quite wow. As a low-level train enthusiast, hearing them rumble away quietly in the distance making their way towards Exeter or further west was a treat! The apartment was clean and welcoming, as was Maggie the owner downstairs who was on hand with a text if necessary but who allowed us to enjoy our time in her space. Situated within a 5 minute walk from a Premier, a short drive from a Sainsburys or a 12-15 minute walk from black swan haven of Dawlish town centre and its train station, St Julien was also located right alongside a bus stop, where the No.2 Stagecoach could take you towards Newton Abbot or up to Exeter for just £2 each one-way. So my wife and I ended us using the buses and trains all week to explore the south coast and left the car in the neat and comfy parking bay outside the entrance. Everything in the apartment worked easily - a good shower, an easy to use Smart TV and a basic but fully operable kitchenette that did the job. Excellent and most certainly recommended for couples or solo travellers looking for a comfy, welcoming, well connected base from which to explore Devon and beyond. A big Welsh 'Diolch' to Maggie for her hospitality and warm welcome.

Whilst it was one of the hottest weeks of the year, careful opening of the windows and french doors and use of the cleverly designed shutters managed to keep the apartment comfortable. The siting of the apartment invites cooling sea breezes. Station within walking distance and bus stop on the doorstep meant I used public transport to get around most of the time. Due to Covid perhaps, we didnt find any pamphletts, booklets or instructions. Such things as how to turn the towel rails on so that they warmed, dried towels etc. The basic cooking facilities, Microwave, kettle, fridge and toaster were but barely adequate but having said that the apartment was warm and comfortable, and all fitments cutlery, crockery, furniture and bedding etc were of good quality. In view of the basic cooking it would have been nice to have had some recommendations re local restaurants that were in walking distance, or takeways who could deliver etc etc. This would certainly offset the limited cooking facilities.

Yes, you’re right - COVID advice isin operation! All electrical switches are labelled to avoid confusion. Local restaurants/takeaways - the info is constantly changing due to staff shortages, etc. Google still Rules! Delighted you enjoyed the flat & hope to see you again. Property Owner
