"The actual owners of the property were excellent."
Location good for Dittisham.
-
"Very comfortable stay at the Tallet."
Lovely decor and comfortable beds. The shortbread, milk and other kitchen items was very welcome.
-
"Lovely property in a quiet location with stunning views of the Dart."
The property fully met our expectations. It was beautifully furnished, well equipped and very comfortable.
-
"A lovely property which was light and pleasant with views of the Dart estuary and situated in a beautiful village which was steep in places."
Nice attention to detail overall, which made it feel comfortable and homely. We would go again.

"My husband and I have been coming to Ditsum for many years and have stayed in various rental properties."
This is the third time we have stayed in Dittisham Court. Very clean, tidy, spacious, quiet, and with everything we needed for a great stay. Thank you.
-
"Lovely stay at The Tallet, comfortable and everything thought of."
Great views, very peaceful.
-
"Lovely cottage in an excellent setting."
Very comfortable, well furnished and attractive property, the 'upside down' arrangement works well - we enjoyed looking out towards the river. The Dittisham Court properties and land are really well managed, nice to be in the village and have plenty of room for parking.
-
"The Tallet was very clean and comfortable and the little extras were very welcome, as were the milk, cakes and flowers."
There was a problem with the cold water taps and we didn't have cold water on arrival however the caretaker did sort out the problem for us quickly after we had reported it.

"Enjoyed our mini break."
Cottage clean and very comfortable and very well equipped. Living accommodation excellent. Toilet and bathroom acceptable. Major disappointment for us was heating system noise in second bedroom. I thought someone was running a motor outside bedroom window - and gurgling water noise through pipes was disturbing. No sleep after heating system came on. Suggest this needs looking at. Having said this an enjoyable break.
Thank you for your feedback. The heating timings have been adjusted so hopefully this does not disturb others. We have not had a comment of this nature before. - The Owner Relations Team Property Owner

"Comfortable, well-equipped property."
Plenty of hot water for baths after a long day walking the hills. Clean and tidy and freshly-laundered bedding. a lovely place to stay.
-
"Having stayed at the Tallet before we knew what to expect and it did not disappoint."
The only point of note is that items of crockery appear missing. E.g. only one bowl suitable for cereal, some glassware certainly insufficient for 4 people. Recommend a tour of Britannia Naval College. Limited numbers on each tour and book well in advance. Best use Park and Ride as parking in Dartmouth difficult.
Thank you for your feedback, we are glad that you enjoyed your holiday at The Tallet again. Thank you also for your comments on the crockery and glassware, we will review the number and condition of these items shortly. Inevitably there have been a few breakages. We hope that you were able to find something suitable during your holiday. Property Owner

"We very much enjoyed our stay in the comfortable and well-equipped property."
The area is beautiful and we knew we could rely on Helpful Holidays to find us suitable accommodation for our visit. Thank-you very much.

"Lovely cottage, far more spacious than we were expecting, with good facilities and extremely clean"
-
"A really lovely quiet location with beautiful walks and views on the doorstep."
The cottages was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and spacious. Would definitely go back!
-
"As other reviews have said - a lovely light, spacious and comfortable place in a great location."
I think the owners have mentioned in other reviews that they are going to put in a proper shower. Perhaps lockdown is a good opportunity to do that! The shower over the bath is functional but at this price level a proper shower is usually standard.
-
"Our second holiday at The Tallet and despite the obvious limitations this year we had a great time and found some new places to visit."
The bathroom plumbing is the same as previous but if the owners engage a plumber i believe they will find that it only needs a couple of new flexible basin tap and shower hoses as both kinked! Other than that everything was fine and with the new smart telly we even managed to sign in to our Netflix account (Don't forget to sign out before leaving) We will probably holiday there again as we love the area.

"The Tallet was perfect for a relaxing holiday exploring Dittisham and the surrounding area."
With wonderful views and a fabulous vantage point to watch the sun set and gaze at the stars we couldn't have wished for a better location. The property was beautifully furnished with high quality fittings, we had everything we needed and more to make our stay enjoyable, all the little extra touches were so thoughtful, it was a home from home and somewhere we're looking forward to staying again. Highly recommended.

"The cottage was very nice and well kept."
The only downside it the shower which has been previously mentioned by other visitors. We also had a young family and stayed in the cottage for our evening meal which meant the fridge was always full and struggled to cope. Maybe a replacement fridge freezer maybe worth investing as well as more kitchen utensils (Potato Masher). We would happily book the cottage again though as we love Dittisham.
Thank you for your helpful comments, we will address these issues as soon as we are able to during these difficult times. We look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner

"The accommodation was lovely, even nicer in reality than in the pictures."
It would benefit from a power shower but otherwise perfect and very clean. Lovely location with stunning views and access to some beautiful beaches. Would definitely return!

"The TV set is quite old and the reception intermittent."
We had a very wet, windy and cold week so were housebound for much of the time and wanted to watch it much more than usual. It needs replacing. The water pressure in the downstairs bathroom is very poor so there is no shower, we prefer baths so were quite happy, but many visitors would expect a shower. The kitchen would benefit from a dishwasher - a compact one could quite easily be fitted. Other than the above the house is very warm, welcoming and comfortable.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to our feedback request. We have spoken to the owners who have now attended the property since your visit with a view to putting in a fitted over the bath shower in 2021 The poor TV signal was most certainly due to the terrible stormy weather you encountered during your stay and we are sorry for that but as you can appreciate completely out of the owners control. A smart TV has now been installed! Despite the points raised and the awful weather we are pleased to hear overall you enjoyed your visit. Property Owner

"We booked this holiday because we had had two hard months and needed a spell of quiet, hassle -free R & R."
The Tallet was almost entirely perfect, as was the little town of Dittisham. It was a quiet, comfortable retreat from the stresses of the world, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Because of the frequently windy and occasionally wet weather, the TV reception was variable, but happily we found a supply of early MASH dvds which were an enjoyable replacement for the TV diet.

"Very nice quiet location."
Comfortable holiday cottage fully equipped. Steep hill descent into Dittisham on very narrow roads. The only point of criticism is the plumbing to the bathroom needs attention as water flow is poor making a shower difficult. We tried the Ferry Boat Inn. Very nice food and atmosphere (suggest booking a table as fairly small). DON’T DRIVE to the inn, park at the Ham and walk. If the tide’s in there is no where to turn around so you have to back up a 1 in 4 narrow street. NT Greenway by ferry is a good day out as is steam train to Paignton. Use Park and Ride at Dartmouth as car parks in town small and usually full.

"It is a spacious cottage (apart from the twin bedroom) and ideally situated a short distance from the beautiful River Dart."
We found it clean with nice decor although there was a slight fusty smell emanating from downstairs and possibly the drains. Also, the floorboards upstairs are incredibly creaky and will almost certainly disturb anyone sleeping downstairs. That said, we enjoyed our holiday and the cottage overall and would gladly stay there again.
Thank you for taking the time to send in a review. We are very pleased you had such a good holiday. The slight fusty smell downstairs is due to the new soft furnishings purchased this summer, and in particular the Emma mattress in the main bedroom. We have been assured by the manufacturer that this will go over time and is a normal side effect of the manufacturing process. Property Owner

"Lovely cottage & setting."
We travelled with 2 toddlers & the listing was slightly misleading in being child friendly. Possibly not child friendly for children under 2 years old. We brought a stair gate & high chairs although the property did provide a travel cot. The shower pressure was also lacking. Otherwise a great property. Well worth a visit even with the slight detracting points.
We are delighted you loved the cottage and location. The website shows that there is a cot but not a stair gate or high chair, but we are glad that you were able to provide for your convenience. Property Owner

"Really lovely place for a holiday."
Very comfortable, clean and well furnished. If there was a negative, a small table by the side of the bed in the twin would be handy.
