  • "The best lodge we have ever stayed in, very clean, tidy, and so comfortable."

We felt right at home as soon as we stepped foot through the door. So well organised and easy to book and I was emailed everything I needed to know in plenty of time. Also I had a phone call telling me my lodge was ready and I was so excited. I can’t wait to return one year. Thank you for much Jenny bowler

  • "14 Horizon view is located in a great pitch."

It is private and in general the grounds are in a good state. The inside was spotless and again in a fairly good condition. There are a few things that need attention, some of the blinds are damaged and the ensuit shower door is at risk of falling off. Overall the lodge is great and what we expected. We stayed in one a little further down a few years ago, so knew the site and quality. The outside furniture is nice, although we didn't use it. The reception staff were very efficient. The dishwasher wasn't working and the service provided by reception and maintenance was second to none, in ensuring the issue was resolved. I was very impressed with reception making a second call to us later that day, to check everything was ok. Small touches in the lodge, such as fruit bowl was nice. The milk and welcome box was a nice gesture as well. I would recommend this lodge and the site. The lodge has everything you require and more. The site is very quiet and located in easy reach of many of the South coast attractions. Overall fantastic.

Thank you so much for your amazing, informative review Rod, it's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at 14 Horizon View. Thank you also for letting us know of the issues you came across, I'm so glad that the problem with your dishwasher was resolved straight away. Hopefully you will return for your third visit in the very near future! Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

Was so much bigger than we thought! Loved the fact they came out and cleaned the hot tub every day! It was clean and had all the perfect equipment in the kitchen! My partner loved the fact it came with robes too! Would definitely come back again!

  • "What a peaceful and relaxing holiday."

We were lucky to be able to book in early, walked in as the cleaners were finishing, the place actually smelled like it had been cleaned. Hot tub was perfect for our needs. Good sized oven and fridge/freezer, plenty of cupboard space and utensils. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Local pub had a reasonable menu, fairly priced and they were very friendly too. This is a local’s pub but they were very welcoming. Lots of places to visit but the only thing within walking distance is the pub/local Spar shop. Everything else is around 20-60 mins drive. If you like little fishing villages this would be good for you due to location. Newquay was just under an hour away, as well as Tintagel/Port Isaac. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful holiday. The only this is, you can’t see the view from the lodge, as it looks into the garden. You have to walk between a couple of hedges and then you can see the view. Fine for a sunrise!

Thank you so much for your wonderful, detailed feedback Jennifer, we really do appreciate your time. I am so happy that you loved your stay at 14 Horizon View and managed to get out and about to explore the local area thoroughly! I hope that we will be able to welcome you back to see us again in the very near future. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner
