  • "The Old Dairy had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing week."

It was a bonus to have the glasshouse and pond area for additional space to unwind as well. A minor point: there might have been a bit of a dog smell in some parts of the cottage for the first couple of days. I could see from the visitors' book that three dogs had been staying there for the previous two weeks. Perhaps only a non-dog person would have noticed, and I realise the cottages are all advertised as being dog-friendly. We did like Tritchayne a lot, though. It's a beautiful and peaceful location.

We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay at Tritchayne. So sorry if there was a dog smell when you arrived - we thoroughly clean each cottage between guests and we’ve also cleaned the carpets following your feedback to ensure there are no lingering smells. Hope to see you again. Best wishes John Property Owner

  • "Second stay in this delightful cottage."

Welcomed from the outset. The scones/cream tea were such a nice touch. Our dog loved the field exercise and the pond and glasshouse made recharging our batteries easy. Thank you Sarah and John.

  • "Lovely friendly owner, great grounds, nice cottage and location."

We loved being able to walk around the gardens and straight from the cottage. This part is NOT about the property. The reason I’ve not given an over all good rating is because of the absolutely terrible experience I had booking it and then again trying to amend it. It’s been an absolute nightmare. We have always used Sykes and actually had our own large holiday home on with you for several years but after this experience I will not be using you again in any capacity. I hope your property owners know how bad things can be at the bookings end and customer help side- and how it can affect the experience.. I would be asking for a refund to offset the extensive trouble I had EVEN DURING THE HOLIDAY but knowing how hard it was to actually try to give you my money, I can’t face the prospect of asking for some back ! Really poor. Stop using computers to try to sort out unusual queries. It’s so frustrating that no operatives can see the previous WhatsApp message and I had to repeat myself every time. Get more humans on the phone lines. Sort yourselves out.

  • "A very nice and well equipped cottage with a welcoming and friendly owner."

The cream tea provided on our arrival was very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed. Only drawback was the narrow road from the cottage through the village of Colyton. We were lucky to have good sunny weather and a peaceful location to stay.

  • "A beautiful cottage in Devon as a wheelchair user I’ve found wheelchair accessible properties aren’t always that well the Old dairy was fabulous for my limited mobility."

We were welcomed onsite by John who couldn’t do enough for us such a lovely welcome after a long journey. We had a fabulous week and saw some beautiful places in Devon . The cottage was really well equipped too with everything needed and more and was very dog friendly too our pups enjoyed their stay as much as us thanks again John hope to be back again soon . Kayley Steven Julie and of course Ruby and Albie the pooches too xx

Many thanks for your kind words, it was lovely to meet you all ...and your pooches too! I am very pleased to hear that you found the Old Dairy accessible in a wheelchair and you had everything you needed. Also great to know you like East Devon as much as we do! Sarah and I would love to welcome you back again any time. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was wonderful, secluded and peaceful, and splendidly equipped."

However, within easy distance of the donkey sanctuary and several beaches. We particularly enjoyed the Seaton tramway which departs from the local village of Colyton. We found a much easier route to the cottage from Honiton via Google - I'm afraid the directions in your email were very confusing!

Thank you so much for your feedback Judy. We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us in the Old Dairy. We have re-visited the directions and now also include the route from Honiton which will hopefully make it easier for guests to find. Property Owner

  • "We had a comfortable, peaceful, stay."

The cottage was so well equipped even down to the dog box with spare lead, balls and treats as well as towels. Everything in the cottage worked well and the staff were pleasant and eager to please.

  • "The directions to to the property were totally inadequate."

(please revise) After going round in circles and asking at least three different people for directions we phoned the owner who kindly came to meet us and we followed him. We would never have found it otherwise. The property was comfortable and pleasant walks nearby and lovely garden. Unfortunately weather awful for two days which put a damper on the holiday.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback, we are sorry that you had trouble finding the property, we have asked the owner to revise the directions to see if any changes need to be made. Property Owner

  • "Lovely homely cottage on small well maintained complex ."

Warm welcome and delicious cream tea waiting for us ! Never stayed in such dog friendly self catering - enclosed gardens for that night wee trip , big field for a longer wander and the dog box with doggie essentials treats and poo bags !!! Peaceful location and yet close to all the main attractions . Such great communal outdoor spaces and the gorgeous summer house ( we had a picnic in there in the rain !) Tritchayne cottages really are a little piece of heaven in Devon . Thank you John and Sarah .
