Lovely area. A broom would be handy for daily sweeping indoors. Would definitely recommend. Location was perfect for Exmoor walking. Garden small but completely enclosed.

  • "The bed linen had old stains on it which was not pleasant."

The accommodation was available from 4pm and I have to say the cleanliness of the accommodation could have been much better, the toilet brushes need to be replaced! The outside courtyard needs some attention, just to do a bit of weeding and empty dead plant pots does make this a big difference. Having to strip beds is a bit much in my view. Property has a lot of potential just needs some tlc.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We review all feedback and take action as needed. We strongly disagree with the statements that cleanliness could have been better, and the property needs some tlc. Our cleaners take great pride in their work and the house is always spotlessly clean. The property has been completely renovated to a high standard and as owners we work hard to maintain the standard. The excellent record of feedback for the property clearly reflects this. Toilet brushes are never going to be pleasant things and bleach corrodes their appearance; all are replaced regularly, most recently after your stay. The courtyard was weeded the week before your stay and the planters contain spring bulbs which naturally die off in summer. The bed linen has been examined and we noticed some very small permanent marks which had not washed out; we agree that anything other than pristine bedding is not acceptable and these have been replaced. All the facilities you want - very well equipped kitchen, roomy dining and sitting areas, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ( 2 of them en-suite), and off street parking in a road with few spaces. We’ll be back!

..great accommodation, well equipped, clean, comfortable and well located right in the centre of Dulverton. One very minor thing...a microwave would be very useful. Would highly recommend.

  • "Just returned home from a lovely stay."

It was lovely and clean and very comfortable. Beds and bedrooms were spot on, nice en suites. Booking it very easy all instructions good. One very minor thing, no microwave which we probably would only have used a few times anyway to warm food. Town nice and close with a well stocked co op. Dog walks all close by. Hopefully be back.

  • "A comfortable and roomy property ."

Having all bedrooms with an en suite is great as is being able to off road park securely. A microwave ,small saucepan with a proper handle and a potato masher would make self catering easier. Dulverton is a town well served with shops, restaurants and pubs

  • "Lovely property in a great location."

Really good walks right on the doorstep plus just a short walk to the village centre where there are good independent shops and a well stocked CO-OP. We ate at the Bridge and Woods and food was excellent with very friendly staff. Lovely tea rooms as well. Very cosy property with good amenities and plenty of space for up to 6 people. Enclosed courtyard was nice to have as well.

  • "The cottage was very comfortable and the beds were nice and soft."

My only criticism was that there was only large saucepans and it would have been nice to have some smaller ones or at least a milk saucepan, with no microwave it was difficult when heating milk for coffee etc. Also a fire glove would have been safer for putting logs on the wood burner . Dulverton is a lovely town and very friendly with lots of independent shops.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in Dulverton."

The cottage was well equipped and nicely furnished. The quality of the kitchen equipment is high (induction etc) and plenty of crockery, sharp knives etc. Lots of nice touches including blankets on the beds, a few dishwasher tablets, all the rubbish bags you'll need, wood included so you feel really welcome. A bottle of wine and some local biscuits would have topped it off! Dulverton is a great place to explore from, with easy access to the moor and great walks, but also with a thai restaurant/takeaway and co-op, as well as a butcher, and several pubs. The pub at Withypool is highly recommended for a great sunday lunch. The weather wasn't great all the time but we had a great time.

Very comfortable beds and bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed. Great walks nearby. Woods restaurant was excellent. Not sure why the hot water went off at 10.30pm? We did go to bed later than that - it was New year and we washed in cold water! Also would have loved a few Tbags and milk for our arrival after a 5 hour journey! Our friends had all food and drink in their car and arrived late. We go away each New Year and always have a bottle of bubbly left for us!! Minor points really - but just leaving some feedback! Thank you - all six of us had a great time.

The location was superb and the cottage itself was too. Comfortable, warm and well equipped. The only slight disappointment were the lack of Christmas decorations! A small thing, but as it was Christmas I assumed there would be some. We’d definitely recommend the cottage and plan to go back.

The heating was on when we arrived which made it very welcoming and everything was impeccably clean. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need except a microwave which is the only improvement the cottage could possibly make… that and lose the awful cow hide rug, it made our flesh crawl walking on it! All the beds were very comfy and the WiFi worked well, it was great having somewhere to park too. Maybe a mini ‘welcome pack’ with a few goodies from The Tantivy (local shop) wouldn’t have gone a miss, considering the cost of staying there… just a suggestion x

Thanks for a great time The property is set on a road & the smell of diesel is present if the bedroom windows are open, also the shower room smells of damp however that said it is still a great place to stay The only other issue which does not reflect on the property is that there are not many eateries in the village therefore booking is advisable.

Great having 3 bathrooms so each couple had their own. Thankfully, we took spare loo rolls as there were no spares and one bathroom only had half a roll to start with. Would have appreciated a summer duvet with much lower tog value as very hot and we never managed to unlock/open the windows. Despite the minor grumbles we had a very enjoyable stay and would revisit.

About the location

DULVERTON

Minehead 17 miles.

Dulverton is the southern gateway to the Exmoor National Park, a small town standing between the rivers Barle and Exe, which meet further down the valley. Dulverton has some quaint narrow streets weaving between fine Victorian buildings and a three arched bridge crossing the river leading to riverside walks. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs in Dulverton and in the square is the Exmoor National Park visitor centre and art gallery, offering plenty of inspiration for exploring the vast expanse of the moor on foot, on horseback or from behind the wheel. Why not try an off road safari around Exmoor to see red deer, wild ponies and rare birds? Exmoor has been designated as a Dark Sky Reserve, where the light pollution is low and plenty of stargazing can be done. Near to Dulverton is the majestic lake at Wimblewall Country Park, the first Dark Skies Discovery Centre on Exmoor. Wimblewall is also a premier trout fishing location, and provides tuition in numerous water sports, including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Further afield the North Somerset coastline has sandy beaches at Minehead, picturesque harbours and plenty of wild walking around Porlock Weir. A fabulous holiday destination for all those enjoying outdoor activities, dramatic landscapes and wildlife.
