  • "We have just stayed a week at Spring cottage and had an excellent time."

The cottage was lovely and welcoming on our return from our days out. The garden was beautiful and fully enclosed so our dog could be allowed freedom. I think the sitting room was oour favourite room. It was so relaxing to sit in. The owner made it known that if we had any problems we should just come and get them. We would definitely consider returning there again.

  • "Great location."

Easy check in. Easy to find, ample parking. Cottage interior tired and enclosed garden still had gaps dog could get through. Lack of WiFi not an issue and had good phone signal. All the crockery and cutlery had a fusty smell and needed washing before using and if you put it away in between it needed washing again as you could taste it! This would prevent me staying here again. Smaller bedroom full of spiders that just kept coming! Appreciate it’s rural - we live rurally ourselves - but this was the only room with the issue. 11 year old wouldn’t go to bed without us checking and removing. Listing had stated there’s an electric meter but there wasn’t which was good news! We had some bad news and had to leave early so couldn’t do the full week. We had a nice stay otherwise.

  • "Upon arrival we found Spring Cottage larger than expected."

There was a welcome pack with plenty of information regarding our stay use of utensils (eg cooker, microwave etc) and on the surrounding areas. The cottage was very clean and equipped with appropriate utensils etc. Lack of WiFi didn't bother us as it was nice to get away from Internet. Tv was available if we wanted it. Shower and bathroom facilities were more than adequate. It was nice and quiet away from city life. Having no blinds on the skylights was no problem as we wore eye shields. If you like to sleep in a dark room I advise that you take an eye shield.Lots of great places to visit, Valley of the Rocks, Minehead, Dunster, Ilfracombe and plenty more. Would we stay again - yes we would.

  • "The cottage is clean, comfortable and adequately equipped."

No WiFi but good phone signal. TV channels very limited but we weren’t there to watch TV. The electric shower wasn’t powerful but the corner bath and plentiful hot water more than compensated. Lynmouth and Lynton and the surrounding areas are lovely. The cottage is walking distance from the bus stop in Barbrook but the lane is very steep. The pub / Thai restaurant at Lynbridge is excellent.

  • "Lovely property but : 1."

No welcome pack and no nearby facilities to get provisions, which could have caused problems if we hadn't taken milk etc with us 2. No blinds on bedroom windows so we were woken at 4.30 each morning with the bright sun 3. No instructions for any of the appliances cooker, microwave, television etc 4. Garden not entirely dog proof - gaps in hedging 5. No extra bedding and it was very cold the first night of our stay

  • "Lovely warm and cosy holiday cottage in ideal situation for exploring exmoor."

Good walks from the door as well as further afield. Good eating pubs within a short drive. Road up to cottage was not a problem for us as a few people had mentioned. Steep at first and narrow but fine! Only criticism I have about the cottage is the shower. A new shower head would solve the problem I’m sure. Also in the kitchen it would be nice to have a bigger range of crockery and cooking pots, especially if 4 were staying. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the near future.

Lovely, safe, peaceful and enclosed garden for our two small dogs. The owner, Keith and his family did everything possible to help to make our stay enjoyable. They even bought a new TV for the cottage when the old one broke down. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would definitely visit again and we highly recommend this property.

Comfortable little cottage in lovely area. Enjoyed the 2 weeks here . Stags and hinds came to visit the bordering fields. Owner very helpful when tv wasn't working on arrival and was up a ladder first thing next morning to fix the aerial. Only grumble we had was owners dog left us several 'presents' on the grass to clear up . Would definitely stay here again

  • "The owner Keith gave us a very warm welcome - what a pleasant gentleman."

The cottage is ideally located in a beautiful area and is totally peaceful. It was well equipped, beautifully furnished and very clean and there was no unpleasant doggy odour within the cottage. (We have unfortunately found this to be the case on other dog friendly holidays we’ve taken.) The Cottages’s location is ideal for short drives to Linton and Lynmouth and for those wanting a walking holiday there are numerous walks in the area. We would definitely stay there again and can highly recommend this cottage to anyone who is seeking a peaceful and tranquil holiday.

  • "Me and my mum spent a week at Spring Cottage and had a wonderful time."

The cottage is very cosy and the location is brilliant for exploring Lynton and Lynmouth. The owner Keith was lovely and even dropped a pint of milk round when we first arrived so we could have a cup of tea. My only compliant was that the kitchen equipment could do with some upgrading. We tended to go out for lunch and come back to the cottage in the evenings to cook dinner. There were plenty of glasses, plates and cutlery etc but there were no wooden cooking implements, the knives were very blunt with no sharpener and the pans and were a little scratched. Also worth noting that there’s no WIFI and the TV is very small and only gets channels 1 to 5. We didn’t mind too much as we were happy to relax, read and listen to music but WIFI or a DVD player etc would have been nice so we could have watched a film in the evening. Other than that we had a lovely time and would come back again.

We would have appreciate some extra touches like comfortable pillows, a couple of throws to cover up with on a chilly evening, and a rug on the cold kitchen floor. The walks information was helpful, so would be an OS map of the area.

Nothing was too much trouble for them. The holiday let is down a narrow lane which is quite steep and twisting but it is well worth the effort negotiating these.
