  • "We have stayed a good number of years, sadly we tried to re book and found it's not available next year ,I hope the lovely gentleman who owns it has not passed away?"

. We have booked a property just up the road from here ,our only grumbles were mattresses need sorting and making others in cottage adjacent park in area under cover leaving car outside their property causing problems for access in the dark and slightly awkward exit from garage. But a good time was had as usual many thanks .

  • "It may be time to replace the mattresses on all beds."

Very uncomfortable, bossy, squeaky. Cleanliness was OK but again bedding could be refreshed. I also had bites on my legs. I moved the beds in the spare room to find crackers, crisp packets and roll on deodorant, so the cleaners can't do that good a job. Overall a lovely place but new mattesses, bedding and a deep clean of both bedrooms would be beneficial. It was also a real shame to have our last day of the holiday disturbed by heavy garden maintenance, not very relaxing. This was in addition to scaffolding being put on the property next door (owners I presume) half way through our holiday which was not only noisy but blocked us in for arouns 2 hours one morning as we weren't able to get out of the drive was unloading scaffolding and setting up around the house.

  • "There were a lot of cobwebs behind the twin beds and across the staircase."

Crumbs in the microwave and I washed all of the crockery and cutlery before use as I wasn't confident it had been checked by the cleaner. I also removed a copious amount of hair from the bath plug hole as when I showered, the water wasn't draining away. The owners do not live nearby, so the fault for these problems lies entirely with the company contracted to clean the property between let's. The facilities were good and the furniture and furnishings comfortable.

  • "This was a perfect little get away."

Fairly close to several beaches including Bigbury beach. All stunning beaches as well as the water was so clear. There is a pub just up the road which we found to be unfriendly. But if you go further out everyone was so friendly. The are is also dog friendly and very welcoming. The cottage was a beautiful Devon cottage. It felt so homely. Every thing we needed was available for us. You will definitely need a car and the roads are narrow country lanes. Some a bit bumpy. But the scenery was unbelievable. Our break was so much more than expected. We went into Plymouth. So much to so there. We went on a boat cruise which was fab. I recommend this break highly. We made so many lovely memories. We definitely plan to go again. We loved every minute !

I did have to fix the tumble dryer but as we were lucky to have one it's no great shakes . The owners were great . A truly lovely place. it would have been better if we Ed have known how narrow the roads were so it made getting to places hard . I live in Norfolk so am used to bad roads but a heads up would have been nice.

Fred and his wife (whose name I can't remember) made us so very welcome. The accommodation was stunning, a magnificent barn conversion. The grounds were well kept with constant gardening happening. We even had a go at the pool table (I won). Fred was very informative about local areas and warned us of the tidal road. We are happy to recommend this lovely place to anyone.

Dog friendly with lovely upper garden where our dog can run around. We've only ever been over new years and also so central heating or log fire you still feel so warm with many heaters around. Kitchen equipped for sitting round the lovely farmhouse table. Games rooms. Laundry room. Towells and fresh bed included all in the price. We hope to return again for sure! *Small faults we had was the WiFi was rather slow and new years morning ( after the obligatory late night for the new years count down). Someone from 9pm was using a chainsaw for about an hour which woke both our children.

  • "Lovely little barn conversion in a nice quiet location."

It had everything we needed for our stay. The downstairs area smelled a little musty, but it is probably to be expected in this type of property, with thick walls etc. Also, lots of cobwebs, again to be expected in a barn at this time of year. On the whole, it was very clean. The velux windows could do with a clean but difficult to get to. My gripes are minor and would not put me off staying again. I can definitely recommend this holiday rental.

  • "If you are wanting a modern place to stay, this isn't the one, however if you want a place to stay that will make you feel like you're in France, 100% this is the one."

The seating out the front was an amazing sun trap and it was really nice going up to the top of the garden to have a BBQ and play croquet (these facilities are there for use). The facilities aren't great in regards to the tele being very small, and the kitchen being quite old, but we barely spent any time watching tele due to being out on day trips, or playing pool in the games room (pool table and table tennis table aren't amazing but did a job). We were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. It was very dusty and there were a lot of cobwebs, but it wasn't a massive issue for us. Was great having a washing machine, however it did break towards the end of our stay, but I'm assuming it will be fixed soon. If we were looking for a place to stay around that area again, then we would not think twice about re-booking.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are thrilled you like the property it really is in a lovely position. We can only apologise about the cleanliness and will pass this onto housekeeping, please know if you had made us aware of any issues during your stay we would have rectified them as soon as possible. We are pleased to say that the owners have brought a new washing machine. We do hope that we can welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner

Lovely main bedroom. Comfortable bed and lounge seating. Used the games room and enjoyed doing so. Light in fridge appears to have gone but no doubt that can be quickly remedied. Also kitchen window difficult to fully close. Other than these small items the Barn was fine and had everything we needed. Location is a little remote with some very narrow roads in the vicinity but Village of Modbury not far away with a Co-op and two pubs and other shops/cafes etc. We visited in November when the weather was not the best, but nevertheless enjoyed our stay and imagine in the summer months it would be even better.

  • "Quiet, pretty location, but initially struggled to find the barn."

When you reach the postbox in the wall you need to turn left and drive past the Coach House as the barn is behind the house and not sign posted 2 Eastern. Barn is lovely with all the old features but the kitchen particularly is in need of modernising along with plates, some of the pans etc. The blinds in the main bedroom also need updating, they do little to keep the light out as all the windows are skylights. The main bedroom itself is amazing with the high barn ceiling and all the original beams, new bathroom is a good edition. We had a good week and the cottage was pleasant but would be even better with a few updates.

Minor criticism- the mattress on the double bed should be replaced as it is rather worn.  The bathroom however was not clean, there were spots of dirt in the sink and clusters of hair on the floor. I find this worrying in the current covid climate. I got in touch with the property manager about this but have not heard back from them which means we will not be returning to this location.

Many thanks for your feedback, we are pleased you liked 2 Easton Barn, although we were concerned to read that the property was not satisfactorily presented prior to your arrival. As you will appreciate, we work very hard with our owners and housekeepers to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained, so it is very disappointing to read these comments. Your feedback has been passed on to the housekeeper/cleaner concerned Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
