  • "Kitchen was not clean on arrival - soaking wet sponge, mouldy wooden dish drainer, greasy pans and oven, rust in pans."

Sofa and kitchen caters up to 4. Only 1 small saucepan. Property is great and in great location. Just needs to think of the guest experience.

Sorry, you felt the barn wasn't up to your standard, however, we did offer to send the cleaners back when you complained but you declined. We do pride ourselves on cleanliness and our responsiveness as can be seen in previous guest reviews. Property Owner

  • "A fabulous clean, warm and comfortable holiday home for 8 people, which is right off the A30 about 10 mins drive from Launceston and the nearest supermarket."

Because of the very close proximity to the A30 it is ideally located for visiting places around Devon and Cornwall, St Ives being just 1 hour away. Around the house there is wall art with place names beneath, which gave us plenty of ideals of places to visit, which we thought was a lovely touch. The house has a lovely big secure back garden (although there is a low gate around the side, so if you have a dog that likes to discover ways to escape, just be careful, saying that they do have to go around the house to get there). The back garden could do with an outside light though for the dark evenings. As mentioned before, a baby gate on the wooden stairs would be a good idea, to keep dogs from exploring upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped, although another big frying pan would be handy for a large group of people and some more forks. More storage would be handy in the bedrooms too. We had the only wardrobe in the house (ground floor), the two upstairs bedrooms had drawers but the other ground floor bedroom didn't have any storage for clothes and our son lived out of his suitcase for the week. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back to stay again.

  • "Lovely barn conversion very spacious and light."

Well equipped and dog friendly! Quite central for touring the local area and lovely pub within walking distance which serves very good food! The secure rear garden area is also brilliant for enjoying the sun and eating outside as well as great for our four legged friends! Brilliant having two double bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs for anyone with mobility issues as well as the downstairs walk in shower and w.c. The kitchen is well equipped and laid out with everything you need! We personally found our mattress a little soft as we both need firm to orthopaedic but nothing ever compares to your own bed unfortunately! Maybe a safety gate would be an asset on the stairs for children/ dogs although we improvised with two stools! The locals we met were friendly and helpful, the moors are a five minute drive away and large supermarket ten minutes drive away too. We did notice that some drivers come off the A30 into the village at speed worth bearing in mind if you have young children although the same happen in our local village too! Nice touch was milk biscuits and a bottle of plonk in the fridge! Our weather was nice which obviously helped but two tv’s if it rains ! The main bedroom upstairs is lovely with great views and a very large custom made wooden bed ! Could be problems deciding who has this room lol

Thankyou. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the old cattle barn Property Owner

  • "We had the most enjoyable holiday in the beautifully converted old cattle barn, the property is spacious with lovely kitchen and bathrooms."

Great for our family group of 3 generations with dogs. Well positioned for exploring the area and walking in the wood nearby. We can recommend the Eliot Arms a few miles away for excellent food and service. I’m aware the owners are new to renting and will be contacting them to make a few suggestions for some additional items to be added to the property to make a holiday stay even more comfortable.
