  • "Thank you for a wonderful stay."

We hope to return in future, maybe booking Two Shoes as well to visit with extra family. We have so much left to see in the area. The beds were really comfy, the shower was hot and it was a powerful hairdryer which is rare in a holiday let. The kitchen is well equipped and the rooms are a great size with good storage, mirrors etc. Meadow, Dad and I were all very happy. The delicious lemon drizzle cake and dog biscuits were much appreciated. Dad said the only improvement that he could think of was bigger bath sheets for the shower. My only suggestion is to put some board games in the sideboard. Warm regards, Jo

Thank you so much for your comments. I'm glad you had a lovely stay! I'm sorry you didn't find the bag of games in the sideboard, by the books: chess, draughts, backgammon, cards, dice, dominoes and a jigsaw. I will label it so it's clear what's inside. Thank you for letting me know! Property Owner

  • "We stayed in Nuthatch with two young children."

Whilst some other family stayed in the other cottage here. We received a very warm welcome and we all loved our stay. The gardens were lovely and well kept. The rooms were nice and the bed in the main bedroom was a good size for all four of us to comfortably fit in of a morning. The cottage was well set up for kids but could have done with a stair gate and a second baking tray for our dinners. It was quiet even though we were next to the road and the boys were able to safely run between the cottages to visit family whenever they wanted. The cake Sally made for our arrival was yummy. We had a lovely bbq but if you are planning to have one during your stay ensure to bring some metal utensils with you. Thank you for a great stay.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have now supplied another baking tray and BBQ utensils. Property Owner

  • "There was no phone signal."

The WiFi was patchy as you had to find a spot in the lounge to connect to

Thank you for your feedback. Since your review, we have updated the WiFi and there is now a good signal throughout the cottage. Due to the proximity of Dartmoor, mobile phone reception depends on your network. The Three network (and SMARTY sim cards) give good reception here and that's what we use. O2 is generally available upstairs. EE and Vodafone can be variable. Property Owner

  • "We were fortunate enough to stay in this delightful cottage for 4 weeks and from start to finish, it has been a wonderful experience."

Sally and Malcolm made every effort to ensure we were fully catered for and were continually helpful. They have made a beautiful oasis of a garden which we used to its fullest benefit. If it wasn't for the fact that we are moving to Dartmoor, we would definitely come back. We have nonetheless recommended the cottage to our family and friends. Thank you so much Sally and Malcolm!

  • "We enjoyed a lovely week at Nuthatch Cottage."

The owners are very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. We had an initial problem with wifi, but they resolved it by providing a plug-in router extender. The cottage is comfortable and very well equipped, and the garden is lovely. It's in a great location for visits to numerous National Trust properties as well as the Dartmoor National Park. We also enjoyed a trip on the South Devon Steam train. Overall, a lovely place to stay!
