"Lovely place , very clean and airy."
Everything you need. It was quite windy towards the end of our stay and it howled around the bungalow more so with the elevated position. A small price to pay for a great view. Would recommend this place.
Dear Jane, we are very glad you enjoyed your stay and the views at Westcroft. We hope to see you again in the near future. Property Owner

"Lovley cottage in excellent postion, bigger than we expected."
Great views. Great touch having scones, milk, tea coffee sugar available. Will be looking into staying next year. Enjoyed the book about the history of the cottage and book about the area. Could not find information on what could be recycled and on heating. Unable to get the blind down in the bathroom.
Dear Maureen , Thank you for your kind comments and we look forward to hosting you again next year. We expect to fully update the washroom at Westcroft in the next few months so you will find improvements there during your next stay. Best Wishes, Property Owner

"Excellent location and view of the sea."
The kitchen is well equipped for 3 people. There is no dishwasher. Three more outdoor chairs on the terrace would also be helpful for 5 people. Perfect as a starting point for further exploration of Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor.
Dear Jochen, Hope you enjoyed your stay at Westcroft and your roaming at Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Property Owner

"Could not fault the accommodation ."
very clean and comfortable . Good location. Car parking was tight depending on the size of the car. A suggestion , installing vertical marker post would be very helpful . Just a tall piece of wooden batten fixed to the rock where the cars front bumper goes ,just to give an indication of the distance rock.
Dear Jim, Thank you for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed your time with us. Parking is at a premium all along the cliff and we are grateful for our dedicated parking in front of the chalet. We recently made some parking improvements there and will certainly look into your suggestion when we have a gap in the bookings. We hope to see you back again soon. Property Owner

"A fantastic little gem of a place with stunning views of the sea that made our holiday a very comfortable & pleasure to stay at."
The property had a fresh feel to it & very clean. It was well equipped just like home from home & provided everything u would need including extras like: towels, toilet rolls, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, sugar, hairdryer & even washing capsules for the washing machine. There were even fresh flowers on the table & some lovely scones, jam & clotted cream left for us to enjoy. Apart from the parking being a little awkward & small especially if u have a larger vehicle, I would highly recommend & we are already missing waking up to that beautiful sea view, can't wait to return.
Dear Sarah, Thank you so much for your kind comments and we are elated you had a lovely stay at Westcroft. I just heard back from my groundskeeper today and he indicated he has recently adjusted the parking space for better accessibility and so the ramp is not quite as steep of an angle as it was. Please let us know if those changes have helped the situation. We really appreciate your rebooking and hope your next stay is as good as the first! Best Wishes. Property Owner

"Hired this chalet for family over from USA and they loved it."
The property was nicely.furnished and spotless. A nice extra touch was that there was coffee , sugar, milk in the fridge and some really nice biscuits which they appreciated after a long journey. The steps up are steep but actually are not too bad to go up and are lit at night. Worth it for the view over the bay. Had to contact Paul to check on something and he was super helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Dear Anthony, we are delighted to hear your American family loved their stay at Westcroft. I am very grateful to have had Paul and Michelle manage the chalet, they always go out of their way to make sure everything is just perfect! Hope to see your family back again in the near future. "The property was amazing and we will hopefully book again."
The views were incredible especially with the storms coming across the bay. We would move there forever if we could. Sadly we didn't see any dolphins but maybe next time.
Dear Chris, Thank you for your kind comments, we are elated you enjoyed your stay. If you see masses of seagulls frantically feeding in dense flocks, it's often as the result of schools of mackerel being concentrated and pushed to the surface by a pod of hungry dolphins down below. Keep an eye out and you'll soon likely see eight or so dolphns breaking the surface. A video of Dolphins in Whitsand Bay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FewZCLPD3Ls Hope to see you back soon. "STUNNING Best place we have ever stopped at both here ,in England and abroad."
The views are magnificent .The facilities are excellent and I will definitely be revisiting. Your representative Paul was excellent and nothing was too much trouble
David, We are very happy you had an oustanding time at Westcroft and look forward to your return soon! Hope you had a chance to observe the pod of dolphins which have recently taken up residency below the chalet. Property Owner

"I booked this rental very last minute as a second little holiday for myself and the children before school resumed."
It was a lovely stay - it was nice and quiet, a clean house with towels provided and suited our needs - meeting friends staying nearby. It was lovely to wake up to the view of the sea each morning. The dedicated parking is a little tricky, on a steep and small spot (I do have a very large 4x4), so it would be absolutely fine for most other cars, and as I had read the previous reviews, I knew I could also freely park on the adjacent parking bays attached to the property (which in the height of summer / BH weekend, was only once, but we were fine about that, as we knew it was there. On our first day, the Wifi wasn't working (we didn't mind as we were tired from the drive), but when I messaged the property manager the next morning, he arranged for it to be reset that morning and no issues thereafter - really good property management service. We had a lovely time staying at the property and driving to meet our friends each day / explore nearby beaches and towns. We would definitely visit Whitsand Bay again.
Dear Jessica, Thank you for your valued feedback. We really welcome your comments about Paul our property manager and glad to hear he was able to resolve the WiFi issue quickly. Hope to see you again soon at Westcroft. Property Owner

"Enjoyed holiday very much."
Didn't like the very narrow and busy road. The parking place could be made better by digging more out and making it flatter. Would be better if weeds were removed on patio area.view lovely.
Dear Marion, thank you kindly for your valued feedback. You may have noticed the additional seven parking bays 40m immediately to the east of Westcroft as these too are part of our farm, Withnoe Barton. Following your feedback, we have flattened the ramp a little to improve parking access. The weeds on the patio have been addressed. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your time at Westcroft and look forward to your early return. Best Wishes. Property Owner

"We enjoyed the views and the surrounding areas."
We know the steep entrance had been mentioned but the bottom 5 steps are extremely uneven and dangerous. 23 steps to the property should definitely be mentioned in the details. We would not return to this property because of the terrible parking situation. It was on a strange angle from the road, on a slope without enough room to get out of the car safely. For anyone with a car bigger than a Corolla ( which are small) it would have even impossible to park.
Dear Lynda, we are glad you enjoyed your time at Westcroft and surrounding area so thank you for your valued commentary. We endeavor to accurately represent Westcroft along with all of it’s rustic quirks and charms befitting a 1930s chalet perched atop this Cornish seaside cliff. The uneven few steps (carved slate steps out of the natural stone at the bottom portion of the walkway) are mentioned in the listing, and the parking spot is shown in our photos; Overall, I find these come as a welcome contrast to urban concrete landscapes. You may have noticed that parking all along the cliff is at a premium so many properties do not enjoy dedicated parking as Westcroft does; we can report larger vehicles (example my Nissan Qashqai Hatchback) having successfully used the parking space extensively and at 6’6”, I am considered a very large man who very much appreciates the proximity of this dedicated parking. Having said that, we accept your feedback and you may have noticed the additional seven parking bays 40m immediately to the east of Westcroft; these too are part of our farm, Withnoe Barton. We are in the process of making one of these bays alternate, reserved parking for Westcroft for those who have difficulty negotiating the currently provided parking. We can only suggest it may be beneficial to review the photos and listing descriptions to select accommodations which conform to your specific accessibility requirements. Property Owner

"A lovely cottage, with great views."
The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and left a cream tea for us. Plus basics tea, coffee, etc. The patio outside was a beautiful stop to watch the ocean. The cottage wasn't far from the little supermarket for shopping. The beach is a steep walk down a cliff. Unfortunately, I have back problems and didn't take a chance walking down. Cawsand and Kingsand are not far away. A place to visit and take a picnic is The mount Edgecrumbe house and country park.
Dear Jayne, thank you kindly for your valued comments. It is heartening to share our seaside treasure with those who share our appreciation for the cottage and the surrounding area. Best wishes. Property Owner
