  • "Great location, know the area and have stayed on this site before."

Decent house, clean and plenty of space for the 3 of us. 6 would be a push in the lounge. Showers good and garage good Space for wetsuits and boards. Negative would be the Wi-Fi 2mb download speed very poor. Was hoping to work and daughter studying for GCSE’s but very slow and the smart tv buffering on Netflix etc. for the price you should have fibre connection. only 1 key and no thumb turn on front door so not great for access. No heat detector in kitchen. Crockery all mismatched and mugs all stained. Twin bedroom basin blocked. A good house but for the money would not expect the shortcomings noted.

  • "We had a great week here."

We found it clean, and we are fussy. Perfect location. The parking is an issue but we knew that when we booked. Didn’t have great weather but because of the great location we could stick on our wet suits and do some body boarding. We had a 10 year old with us that loves body boarding. We would recommend this place. The welcome pack was so lovely. Amazing views. We will be back. The only issue we had was the internet. Two of our party wanted to log on to do a bit of work and couldn’t and the tv is constantly buffering. If that was fixed we couldn’t fault it.

  • "Perfect holiday house for our family of 5 (three teenagers)."

The house is perfectly located, with ample for everyone to do. It is literally just a stone throw away from the most gorgeous beach, and only a few minute's walk into the little quaint town with lovely cafes, restaurants and shops. The house was imprudently clean and perfectly equipped with everything we needed. Thank you for the lovely 'Welcome Basket', all very well received after the long time spent in the car. We will most certainly be back :)

Thank you for this lovely review. Delighted you love our home as much as we do and that you enjoyed a great holiday Property Owner

  • "The new sofas are a great improvement, we’ve stayed in this house for the past 3 years and further back over 10 years ago each year for around 6 years in a row so it was nice this time that there’d been some improvements such as the sofas and the new garage door."

As always the views and location are absolutely perfect, the parking situation is difficult as always, it sleeps 6 people but only one parking space, I know there’s not much that can be done about this but it really does make it difficult. But the location is perfect, the views are stunning and the cosiness of the house is lovely, always feels like a home away from home! The improvements I’d suggest would just be the cleaning standard, under the sofas didn’t look like they’d ever been hoovered, the rug wasn’t particularly clean as it had lots of bits in and the bathrooms I think could’ve been cleaner.

Thank you very much for your feedback it is most helpful. I do try to make things welcoming for guests. It is very disappointing that you didn’t find the property clean. I have sent your feedback onto the company that we use at vast expense!! Particularly frustrating when I had paid extra for the rug to be washed only last month and the new sofas are easily moveable to hover under! I am glad you like the new sofas - not an easy choice as sofas can be quite large and I really wanted x6 seats! The parking is a pain and as you say there is nothing we can do about it but when the rain hammers down it is nice to have the garage. We love our house and are delighted you like it enough to revisit. I hope we can fix the house keeping issues…!!! and you will visit again. Many thanks again for your feedback it really helps us try to get things right. Property Owner

  • "The property is in a great location though is set back from the road so you have to keep your eyes peeled to see it."

The bedrooms are all good sizes and the living space is perfectly nice. The only negative comment I would have on the bedrooms is the floors upstairs are very creaky so it's very noisy downstairs when other people walk around. Just a consideration when deciding who sleeps where. Otherwise great property in a brilliant location.

  • "This is a very nice property, located right next to Woolacombe beach."

The number of bedrooms and on-suite bathrooms is great for 6 people. The beds were very comfortable and there is sufficient space to store your clothes. The view of the beach from the kitchen and lounge area is very beautiful. The dinning table is good size for 6 people, but the sofa / seating area is somewhat small for 6 people to relax in. The sofa definitely needs to be replaced, it looked so worn out and tired and very uncomfortable to sit on at the end of a long day out. Whilst parking is available for 1 car, it’s a nightmare to get in/out of the garage, especially if all the other tenants have parked their cars in their space outside or if someone hasn’t parked properly within the parking lines. One thing we did have to complain about was the lack of cleanliness, quite a few old spider webs and lots of dust especially in the Master bedroom, around the headboard, side tables and table lamp shades. I sent photos as evidence but never heard back from anyone!

  • "We had a fabulous week at beach lodge."

The property is superbly located, just a short distance from woolacoombe beach and the lovely little town. The view from the lodge is truly amazing . The lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay, it really is a home from home. The walk up towards Mortehoe is one of the most breathtaking walks you'll ever do.The garage is fine to park in, with plenty of room for a large car. Just a couple of things to perhaps improve. The lodge could do with a tv in the bottom double bedroom, and the lounge sofa is uncomfortable . Overall it really is a fantastic holiday lodge and would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Balcony great for relaxing and watching the sea also the same great views from the living room window. Drive a bit steep but parking in the garage is ideal especially if the weather isn't so good. Will be booking again.

  • "We had a great week at Beach Lodge."

The property is in the best location for nearby restaurants and access to the beach. The view from the property of the beach is fabulous. We had 1 car which we parked in the garage & had no problem with access. Thank you for the welcome pack it was much appreciated! The only negative I have( and this is no reflection on Beach Lodge) is that I contacted Sykes to enquire if I needed to take kitchen cupboard basics like S&P, foil, clingfilm, dishwasher tablets, washing up cloths etc and was told that I needed to provide these myself, when we arrived all of these items and more were supplied! We hope to return when next visiting the area.

Fridge door wasn’t closing properly however was resolved quickly and efficiently. Felt the check-in time of 5.30pm was exceptionally late especially as that was not the time advertised at time of booking, not impressed at all that we lost that day as well as with the early checkout time of 9am on departure !

A few minor repair issues which were reported to the owner. Perhaps it would have been better to have informed of the broken bed before we came, as my step daughter was worried she'd broken it when infact it was already broken.

Car parking is a problem if your party has more than one car. Should be made clear one of the bedrooms has no outside view. There were a few problems on arrival but these were sorted the next day. There were no bags to leave towels and bed clothes on departure.

We eventually found that buying a 7 day North Devon Council parking pass on line and leaving the car at Mortehoe for the week was the least worst option.

  • "Beach lodge was well equipped but lacked a colander in the kitchen."

There wasn`t actually a cupboard available for food because all the utensils were housed in them. There was an ironing board but no iron. A grab rail in the shower cubicles would have been helpful for older, less mobile (and nervous) occupants. Otherwise it was satisfactory.

It is fully equipped for all our needs and everything works as it should We were blessed with unexpected good weather which made our holiday complete. Woolacombe is a lovely resort and we have been away for too long. Thankyou to the owner for the use of this great apartment - only one thing was missing [our fault] - a hairdryer!
