"The cottage was good the beds very comfortable and well equipped unfortunately the garden was across a lane not enclosed and certainly not suitable for my dog and I doubt good for any dog owner."

Ilsington 1.5 miles.This charming holiday cottage sits next door to The Rock Inn, in Haytor Vale in the eastern section of the Dartmoor National Park.
Well-equipped across three floors, Early Mist Cottage provides a superb base for a family of eight and their canine companion looking to escape to Dartmoor National Park.
After a day of exploring, look forward to kicking back in the lounge and catching up on some TV, whilst the woodburning stove provides a gentle warmth.
Head into the kitchen, where you can rustle up something tasty with assistance from the electric oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, whilst the dishwasher is sure to come in handy with the cleaning up!
Suppers can be enjoyed around the dining table, while there is a separate breakfast room featuring French doors out onto a small balcony area with a bistro set for two – ideal for those who might like to enjoy a peaceful coffee outside before the busy day begins.
Venture up to the first floor and discover two bedrooms, including a super-king-size and a double, each nicely presented and featuring ample storage.
On this floor there is also a bathroom and adjacent shower room, so you can choose how to prepare for the day.
Continue up another flight of stairs to reach the remaining bedrooms, with a double and a twin (with limited headroom) on offer.
You won’t have to travel far for excellent food, as next door is the reputable Rock Inn, serving a varied lunch and dinner menu with an extensive wine list.
When you’re ready to explore, nearby lies the famous Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor, which offers a great starting point for extended walks or even a scenic picnic.
Wander the surrounding moorland and enjoy the great outdoors, making the most of the panoramic views.
Whisky connoisseurs must pay a visit to Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, where they can take a guided tour and learn how the single malt beverage is produced, before getting the chance to sample some yourself.
