"Beautifully decorated property in lovely surroundings."
So comfortable and well equipped with all the essentials. Both bathrooms had amazing showers and we enjoyed relaxing after a day of walking in the roll top bath. Highly recommend.

"We were greeted upon arrival by the property owner who was welcoming and friendly."
Lovely bottle of wine for our enjoyment provided. The property, itself, has been beautifully built out of an old farm building and is warm, clean and very well appointed and equipped. Would say it is perfect for a couple although there are two lovely double bedrooms with modern ensuite bathroom facilities. Bit of a lack of privacy for two couples but probably ok for a few days. Very nice kitchen and excellent laundry. Plenty of parking. It is a little remote and you need to follow some very narrow Devon lanes to reach the property but once there is is peaceful and so very comfortable. Would recommend this property.

"The Coach House was tastefully decorated and furnished and was spotlessly clean."
Although we didn't need the heating or log burner when we visited, I should imagine that it would be really warm and cosy in the colder months. It was a pleasure to stay at a property where it was so blissfully quiet.

"I stayed with my wife, young teenage daughter and our Lakeland terrier from 9th - 16th August 2024."
We found The Coach House to be a well presented, lovingly furnished, spotlessly clean and sympathetic barn conversion which has been done with great attention to detail, and which incorporates all the facilities you could require - a real home-from-home, with the bonus of 30 acres of hay meadows for dog walking. It’s a great base for exploring the moor and south Devon beaches. The long walks, dark skies, and solitude meant we had some great nights sleep!
It was a pleasure to have you and your family stay with us for a week. We are so glad that you enjoyed the coach house, along with the delights of Dartmoor and the charms of Devon.

"This is the perfect place to recharge and relax away from everyday noises and light pollution."
The barn has been beautifully transformed into an open plan space with amazing attention to detail in every room. I have taken some design tips home. The kitchen has all the accessories you would need to prepare a meal after walking in Dartmoor or the lovely walks from the farm. It was a big bonus to be able to walk my nervous dog off the lead in their fields. The cat was always there to greet you and the outside tables are positioned perfectly to view the stars on a clear night. The downstairs lobby was fabulous to store boots and wet gear and the utility room with freezer, washing machine and dryer a real bonus. The cleaning liquid for our use was a lovely touch. The farm is down single tracks so be prepared to reverse if you meet any vehicles. Simon and Natalie were wonderful hosts and I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be rebooking next year.

"Really good accommodation."
The corner room shower appeared to be slightly plugged up. Very happy that there was 24 hour hot water. Loved the farm yard position and remoteness. Might have been good to have had black out shades on the skylights .

Quiet, secluded and extremely peaceful. The accommodation itself was clean, spacious and a real comforting stay after a day of going out. I could not recommend this place highly enough if a peaceful break with your family including the dog is what you are after.

"What fantastic accommodation, we can't speak highly enough of it."
Simon the owner was very friendly, checking to make sure we had everything we needed.
A lot of care & attention has been given to every room. Very clean & comfortable, all immaculately furnished and the kitchen has everything you could want. I'm certainly going to miss cooking in it! Infact, I've taken home some furnishing ideas!
It was great that the door in was downstairs & so muddy boots & rucksacks could be left there. Loved the fact there was also a utility room containing freezer & clothes washing facilities with washing liquid etc for our use, a lovely touch.
Lovely walks are from the doorstep and places such as Canonteign Falls & Castle Drogo, both a must visit, a short drive away.
Overall, this has to be the best accommodation we have had in the many years we have used Sykes & would definitely recommend.

"We had a lovely stay at The Coach House."
The property itself was well furnished and very comfortable. Great location and we soon got used to the narrow lanes leading to the property. Would highly recommend, however, we would make the following comments: we found the stairs quite slippy (no shoes allowed upstairs) and our dog fell down a couple of times; maybe some grips could be fitted? Upon arrival I was worried regarding our dog and their beautiful new carpets upstairs; maybe provide an outside tap or water butt to help clean dog's feet? Also, we struggled getting off the drive (it was very wet with all the rain) as it's quite muddy and your turning onto a very narrow lane; maybe try and level the end of the drive? All these points are just my opinion and NOT critical. As already said, would highly recommend and would return ourselves. Thank you to the owners for messaging us about an item of clothing we left behind. Many thanks for a great stay.

"I was really looking forward to our stay at the Coach House as the photos looked great but when we arrived the barn conversion was even better."
Beautifully designed living space for 4 people with so many stylish finishing touches. The main living space is flooded with light from the roof lights which also gave us a peek at the beautiful rural countryside surrounding us. Everything we needed for a self catering week was supplied and all top quality. My son's a keen cook and loved preparing meals for us every day

"What a stunning conversion of The Coach House !"
Our hosts, Natalie and Simon, provided everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The beds are so comfy and the bathrooms/shower areas so luxurious. The kitchen and utility also had everything anyone could need and the overall opinion is that it really did feel like a 'home from home' during our stay. Set in a very quiet location it was a treat to hear owls during the evening and see the Swifts - probably for the last time before they fly to a warmer climate !! Natalie and Simon are the perfect hosts and we so enjoyed meeting them. Thank you so much for making our stay memorable.

"Suggestions: Boot scrapper at front door, put the microwave in the kitchen."
Bathrooms grab rail in shower and perhaps a non slip mat, somewhere to put shower gel, shampoo etc., shelf for toilet bags, plus for the smaller bedroom a mirror is needed adjacent to a plug socket for hair drying etc.

"Absolutely lovely property and the surrounds of Dartmoor are stunning."
Everything you could need is supplied in the property. We loved the little elephants hiding around the place, Mouse the cat is awesome and Connie the horse was lovely. Really high end finishing and appliances, and the property is spacious and homely, with great games and books also, if you just want to chill. Would highly recommend this property and corner of the world to visit. Thank you Simon and Natalie, your were amazing hosts.

If the city is more your style, you can spend a day shopping in Exeter, while if you want some seaside fun, travel a little further to the Exmouth coast.
