  • "On arrival the place was crawling with spiders, the inside of the cupboards were filthy, there was quite alot of black mould on the ceiling in the bathroom there were no towels left for us even though it stated they were included in the holiday let it was a good job I had my own otherwise we would of had to use one tea towel( that they did have )for all of us to shower an wash up with ."

As we arrived late at night I was unable to complain but when I did nothing was really done yes they gave us some towels which smelled and had terrible stains on them they also asked if we would like the place to be cleaned which is abit stupid when we're moved in ,so they expect us to lose half a day in our home in which we have paid for.But by then I had cleaned the place myself!! Then by the second week I had to ask when are we getting the bedding changed with staying here for three weeks the response was they wasn't aware of having to. Then finally on the last day of our stay when we were clearing up making sure we hadn't left anything my son came to me and said he had found what was a mouldy spatula under neath his bed!!! ..Well just shows how good the cleaners are here..!! The kitchen didn't have quite enough adequate cooking equipment and what they did was unsuitable the saucepans were scratched I couldn't use them and had to buy my own and there no suitable bowls to use in the microwave all plates an bowls they did have had a gold rims round them. You have to watch the fridge door aswell...when ever you open it it catches the corner of the work top and scratches the door. On all I don't think this place is worth the amount I paid and I wish for a part refund. from Karen

Thank you for your feedback. You contacted me prior to your stay to ask about the frequency of linen being changed and I asked Management/Cleaning company to liaise with you regarding this, which they did. You also contacted me on the morning of the second day of your stay to advise me of the issues with the spiders, the cupboards, the mould and the missing towels. I advised you that I would arrange for the Management/Cleaning company to contact you and they did call to the bungalow straight away with fresh towels for you. If you were not happy with the condition of the towels and you had let them know at the time then fresh towels would have been provided. They also offered to do an immediate clean for you, which you declined at the time. The Management/Cleaning company did contact you to arrange to provide fresh linen and towels part way through your stay, which was done with your agreement. Whilst doing the linen change it was noted that you had moved the furniture around in the twin bedroom and also had several boxes of your personal items in that room, so we are not able to comment on how your son found a mouldy spatula under the bed when you were clearing up prior to leaving. I can only apologise that the pans were scratched but if you had let either the Management Company or myself know we would have arranged for them to be replaced during your stay. This property is furnished and equipped as a holiday let not a residential let. I will, however, make sure that the pans are replaced and the crockery is either replaced or will provide more bowls suitable for a microwave. Thank you for pointing out the issue with the fridge door. These issues will be attended to as soon as practicable. I am sorry my property did not meet your expectations but if you were unhappy with anything during your stay and you had contacted either the Management/Cleaning company or myself (you had my number) at the time we would have done our best to resolve your issues and make your stay more enjoyable. • "Beautiful little chalet."

The website says to take tea towels etc but it actually had it all there. Was very clean and surprisingly spacious. We only stayed for 2 days as we were more in the area to see family than have a holiday. Would have been nice to use the pools, but it says only available if the chalet owner has a swim membership. We couldn't find that information anywhere so assumed we couldn't use it. Also the TV has sky but it was not working, it didn't think it was connected to the Internet. The Internet was working fine as we all connected to the wifi. Anyway the vast dvd collection saved the day. Improvements, add a park map to show where it is and where to park and maybe a welcome pack. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback and apologies for not responding sooner. I am really pleased that you were happy with your stay. Unfortunately, we do not have swim membership, but I think this information should be included on the Sykes website. I will check to make sure it is. I will investigate why Sky was not working on the TV, but I'm glad that you found the DVD collection was an acceptable alternative. I will also check with the management company about the welcome pack. I'm sorry you found locating the property difficult. I believe maps of the park are available at the shop next to the pub as you enter the park. Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at 39 Manorcombe Bungalows, the property was clean and warm and having an onsite pub and shop was very convenient."

It should be made clear that there is no access to the swimming pool or gym as this left us disappointed, the description says "enjoys access to a range of on-site facilities". The kitchen could do with a better frying pan and a few microwave proof bowls.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m pleased you had an enjoyable stay. I apologise that the description is misleading, I will ask Sykes to amend this to avoid disappointments in the future. I will also consider your comments about the kitchen equipment. Property Owner

  • "Only problem we had was figuring out the parking, it said on the posting that 2 car park spaces was available but on arrival to the site we had to park near reception as there was no parking spaces anywhere near the accommodation, which is not good when you have an 18 month old."

Overall the accommodation was clean, well equipped and plenty of space.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry you had issues finding parking. Unfortunately there is no allocated parking for each property and sometimes it’s not possible to find a space nearby. I have asked Sykes to amend the details on their website to make it clearer. I’m pleased that you were happy with the accommodation. Property Owner

  • "Having spent 2 weeks in this bungalow with our dog, I feel the owner definitely needs to provide a hoover."

New pillows would be good as we found them to be way too firm. Everything wise was pretty good.

Thank you for your feedback, which I will take on board. The pillows were all bought new this year and are a mix of 2 different types. I am sorry that you weren’t able to find something that was to your liking. I’m glad that you found everything else suitable. Property Owner

  • "What a lovely bungalow."

Perfect location for everywhere we wanted to explore. When we arrived the bungalow was immaculate. Clean, tidy and smelt lovely. We had shopping delivered with ease from Sainsbury’s. The neighbours we saw were super friendly. I would definitely recommend and return.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I’m pleased that everything met your expectations. I hope you had a lovely break Property Owner

Badly equipped kitchen microwave needs replacing no instructions on how to use tv and dvd shower not hot although the heating was on it still felt damp

Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, due to back to back bookings it has not been possible to arrange for investigations into the dampness yet but this will be happening next week. I’m sorry that the kitchen facilities did not meet your expectations. I will be replacing the microwave next week. I will also look into the issue with the shower. Property Owner

  • "This was our first time in Cornwall so we were really excited to stay in number 39."

It is a really quiet, peaceful, safe place. In a great location, lots of space, clean and tidy. Fab facilities - most appliances seemed new. DVD player and dvds brilliant for the evening. Our children loved the fudge/shortbread/harribo gifts. Plenty of towels, and plenty of cleaning products too. There were some things that I felt i needed to mention: A long handle sweeping brush and a vacuum cleaner would be useful (especially the vac if pets stay) Instruction manual for warm water, shower, washer, leaving the property (what is required regarding bedding and towels), site facilities etc.. would be useful. New shower as the current one is not very powerful. Colander in the cupboard needs a good wash as it looks mouldy. One of the chairs needs fixing as one of the bars kept popping out and the table needs tightening up. The bedrooms are damp - bedding feels damp/cold every night, clothing feels damp and smells musty. We left the windows on the latch to help with condensation but nothing really worked. Wardrobes smell really musty so we couldn’t use them. Unfortunately we had to leave a night early as the dampness set off one of my children’s and husbands asthma. So we felt it best to leave early to ease the asthma cough/breathlessness. Apart from the dampness we had a lovely stay.

Thank you again for booking No 39. You are the first visitors so thank you for providing some honest feedback. In response to the concerns that you have raised, I can only offer my sincere apologies. I recently purchased the property and have had had an issue with a leaking roof, which was replaced a few months ago. I have also updated the heating system and done a few improvements. I can only assume that the dampness in the bedrooms is because they have not dried out properly due to the property not being occupied for some time, and I will be addressing this asap. In the meantime I have arranged for some moisture absorbers to be placed in each bedroom today. I believe the issue with the shower is due to the lack of water pressure as the park has a private water supply, not mains, therefore the pressure is not as high, but I will get this checked out. Tamar Valley Cleaning also provide a support service for issues with my property and I have arranged for them to have a look at the table and chairs and make any adjustments needed. They will also rectify the issue with the cleanliness of the colander. Apologies for this. I will arrange to provide some instructions for the appliances, as you suggest. Property Owner
