Resting a stone’s throw away from the majestic Tamar Valley AONB and just a few miles away from the bustling town of Callington, this wonderful retreat promises a refreshing getaway for a family of all ages and tastes.

After a day exploring this wonderful location or an afternoon making the most of the excellent on-site facilities, be welcomed into the well-equipped interior, where you will find everything you could possibly need during a week-long break.

Here, you will find a flexible sleeping arrangement to suit the needs of your group, with four well-presented bedrooms situated across both floors to choose from.

On the ground-floor there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, whilst the first-floor occupies a king-size and a second twin bedroom.

Fulfilling your culinary needs is the well-equipped kitchen, where you will find all the essentials required to whip up a delicious evening meal before settling down at the dining table to plan the days ahead with your loved ones.

The dining area is joined by an inviting sitting area, where you can unwind on the plush sofas and tune into the Smart TV, or make use of the patio area with bench to enjoy the last glimpses of sunshine during a summer’s evening.

To keep you busy whilst staying here, make the most of the wonderful on-site facilities which includes an on-site pub, climbing frames and play equipment where hours of entertainment can be enjoyed.

As well as a handy convenience shop and off licence selling daily essentials such as, fresh milk, a basic selection of confectionery, tinned foods, wine and beers to enjoy in your lodge, along with toiletries, cleaning materials and gifts.

Alternatively, venture to the nearby town of Callington where you will find a selection of shops, pub and eateries, as well as attractions including the 15th century St Mary's Church.

Not forgetting your little ones, visit The Tamar Valley Donkey Park, a sanctuary and an adventure park that offers fun games and attractions for children, along with a host of donkeys to meet.

Tavistock is also a must visit as an ancient stannary and market town - now a world heritage site, and which is the home of the cream tea and the vibrant Pannier Market as well as a variety of shops, cafés and St Eustachius' which is the Parish Church of the town next to the ruins of the old Abbey.

For those feeling active, find miles of walks upon the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or spend an afternoon at the National Trust property of Cotehele.

CALLINGTON

Tavistock 9 miles; Launceston 11.5 miles; Plymouth 14.6 miles.

The small rural village of Gunnislake lies on the steeply wooded banks of the River Tamar. It has village pubs and a small selection of shops. Notably, the village sits at one end of the scenic Tamar Valley Railway - with regular services along the river bank to Plymouth. The area is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches and the attractions of Cornwall’s far west. Close to hand, the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs and restaurants is a must, as well as the popular fishing village of Calstock, renowned for its crafts and festivals, while the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are just 10 minutes away. Enjoy a round of golf at St Mellion (8 miles), explore the restored Victorian mining village at Morwellham Quay (4 miles), search for otters and deer along the Tamar Valley footpath, visit the National Trust owned Lydford Gorge, or take a trip to the beach and picturesque harbour at Looe (25 miles) - there’s something for everyone.
