  • "We had a lovely stay at this unique eco holiday place."

Staying in a piece of wilderness able to spot the resident wildlife is an absolute treat. We spotted several deer, a majestic heron and the owl. If the weather had been better we may have seen more. The bird feeding station outside on the patio area gives you a grandstand view of nut hatch, great spotted woodpecker, gold finches, tits, wren.....plus all the others we missed. Tara the dog much appreciated the field opposite which is the off lead running area. We are already thinking about when we can come again. Thank you to Colin and Mae for sharing their piece of paradise with us. Although it is out in the sticks ( which is our preference) it is still close enough to South moulton and access to many dog friendly pubs.

  • "We loved our stay at Narracott Down."

Place was lovely. We were lucky with the weather for the time of year. We managed to see the barn owl a couple of times and a very large woodpecker surprised us. We ventured out most days to Dunster castle, watersmeet, lynton/lynmouth, Minehead and Ilfracombe. The men did a little fishing in the ponds at night and were pleasantly surprised and caught a good range of fish, so they were happy.Any thanks Colin for a wonderful stay

  • "We had an amazing relaxing time lounging in luxury and wandering around the stunningly beautiful and peaceful nature reserve."

We felt so lucky to be allowed into this unique haven of beauty and tranquility with deer, foxes, birds of prey and much much more. There was so much to see and do in the area as well with day trips to Knightshayes and Arlington Court National trust properties, Exmoor Zoo, Heddons Mouth beach, Lynmouth, Doone Valley and stunning sunsets at the Valley of Rocks. The holiday property was amazing and modern and really really comfortable. A couple of finishing touches for us would have been a bigger built in fridge and a mirror in the main bedroom near a plug socket. But there really is nothing major to complain about. We loved the whole package deal so much, we can’t wait to return. Also a big thank you to Colin and Mae for being great hosts. ☀️

Thank you for your wonderful feedback, we are delighted you had such a fab stay! The owner has taken your comment onboard regarding a mirror in the main bedroom and has now purchased a stand alone mirror. Property Owner

  • "Narracott Down is the perfect place for a complete relaxation and getting away from the bustle of everyday life."

Located in a private nature reserve it is so quiet with only the bird singing. We will miss the daily visit of the woodpecker, coal tits and the buzzards. The high ceiling in the lounge area and the patio window "wall" really brings the outside alive. Our two dogs enjoyed the playing field and it was no problem keeping them on a lead in the rest of the reserve.. Of the facilities - first class and the internet speed was perfect (ideal for working away from office) Thank you Mae and Colin for a great week despite the weather.

  • "The property is stunning!"

Absolutely immaculate. We took our two dogs and plenty of towels and throws in case they jumped on the furniture . The huge doors let in loads of light, however the garden is not fenced off, so we were unable to leave them open. Lovely walks around the property, we saw deer, rabbits and hares . Also many different bird species. The owners Colin and Mae were very friendly. A really lovely, peaceful holiday away from our busy lives.

  • "A stunning lodge set in a wildlife and nature haven."

The lodge is beautiful, with its vaulted ceiling and white walls, its simple but grand architectural design gives you an amazing sense of space. We had deer and hares running around outside which were clearly visible from the vast panel of bifold windows in the living area. Watching the woodpeckers, robin, blue & great tits and chaffinch’s feeding was such a delight. Walks are plentiful on the vast surrounding land. Our Hosts, Colin & Mae, made us very welcome. They were on hand for anything we needed but also left us to our own devices to enjoy the peace and tranquillity, thank you x
