  • "Wow! What a stunning place."

The whole site was perfect for our 2 families of 4. The accommodation was extremely well thought out with everything we needed, top of the range appliances, comfortable and clean. Ann was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The children loved the fish, animals and rolling hills. We enjoyed several bbq's on the terrace looking out over the magnificent fish pond. The bedrooms were all huge with the choice of singles or doubles - very handy depending on the dynamics of the group. The location was in easy reach of many beaches and places of attraction. We had a really special week to finish off the summer holidays - thank you so much.

  • "In terms of Sykes Cottages you are not easy to get hold of via your phone system."

When I did want to call I kept getting cut off when I chose an option. Therefore, you do need to improve how accessible you are when a customer wants to call. The property itself was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were great and made us feel welcome without intruding our privacy. Would highly recommend this property. The only slight improvement that could be made is some form of welcome basket with basics such as bread, eggs, milk etc to supplement the specialness of Swallows Dip.

The owners are lovely, the location is beautiful, the cottage is fantastic and everything (and I mean everything) has been thought of. We absolutely loved our stay and would plan to come again. Wonderful for a family, a few couples or (with the adjacent cottage) a larger group.

It was amazing, this is 4th year in a row of booking with Sykes and can honestly say this property was by far the cleanest, most comfortable and true to the photos and descriptions given. The owners Ann and Steve were so friendly and knowledgeable about the area, giving us tips on where to go. Right from the minute of pulling up on the drive to leaving the property we were made so welcome. 100% recommend and 100% will be back.

  • "Fantastic stay at Swallows Dip."

8 of us (4 adults / 4 teen/tweenagers) stayed for 8 nights and would happily have stayed longer. The property is very well equipped (we did a full Sunday roast) and is very clean (new) and cosy. All bedrooms a very good size - 2 en-suite upstairs. Good size family bathroom for other two bedrooms with excellent shower. Very welcoming hosts who are on site (but stay out of sight unless you need them and then are very responsive and helpful). Property has great countryside views but is easily (for those of average fitness) walkable to shops and restaurants in Honiton. Great position for exploring East Devon. Certain we will be back. Thanks for having us Ann and Steve and for helping us shelter from Storm Eunice!

In fact the comments of the young people was " Wow, this is posh". Done to a high spec throughout, comfortable beds and furnishings. A cream tea on arrival (scones, jam and clotted cream) much appreciated. A quiet area surrounded by lovely views and grounds. The town of Honiton is close by with easy shopping for provisions, Tesco, Aldi & Lidl. Other areas to visit within easy drives. The trams at Seaton are worth a visit. The only disappointment was the weather, but we made the best of it. C & R Chamberlain
