  • "Lovely stay in this quaint cottage."

Very clean and has everything you need to make you feel at home. Love the fact there is a hoover etc. Fabulous walk to the beach by the river and so close to drive to the beach (5 min drive) Really is in a good position for everything you want to do. My granddaughter loved the raised level bed and hasn't stopped talking about it. The cottage is warm and cosy with a homely feel with a very well equipped kitchen. 10/10

  • "This characterful cottage is clean, cosy with a fabulous welcome pack thank you!"

The River Lim path is a great way to access Lyme Regis; particularly good to see the brown trout and the weir. Lyme Regis is lovely too. We would recommend visiting Dorchester, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Charmouth. Many eateries and coffee shops. We would thoroughly recommend The Black Dog at Uplyme for an excellent lunch at a very reasonable price. The local countryside is beautiful too.

  • "Overall we enjoyed our stay in Uplyme."

However we were unhappy that the cottage is right on an extremely busy and noisy road, and that this is not made clear on the write up for this property. It only says that it is in a rural setting. You cannot stop anywhere near to the property to unload, and the only parking is a few spaces slightly up on the other side of the busy road. If all the spaces are taken that’s a problem. The cleanliness was ok on the whole but there were areas that had been missed and the cleaning needs improvement. Would stay in Uplyme again for sure but not here because of its location.

We appreciate your feedback on the parking situation and sorry to hear you found the road to be busy. The map accurately reflects where the property is situated. The property description also does say there is no parking with the property, only nearby which, due to the quaint setting of both Uplyme and Lyme Regis, can be the case with properties located in these areas. We have passed your feedback on the cleaning back to Lyme Bay Holidays who are addressing this issue. Property Owner

Clean and a wonderful welcome pack on arrival. Beds were comfortable. My children absolutely loved the bedroom and loft bedroom. Great location, particularly for us as we have family in the area. We would absolutely book again

  • "This property is not a 4 person cottage."

The main bedroom barely fits a double bed & you can hardly get to other side of bed. It is very pricey for what it is - compared with other properties we have stayed in. Bed was rock hard & we didn’t sleep well. The outside space is tiny which we could tell from photo however was not inviting at all & our poor old dog couldn’t even climb the huge dangerous steps to it. Parking was a nightmare. The facilities in the second bedroom consisted of a futon which looked small & getting to the top bed would only be possible for young child although steps pretty dangerous. Wardrobe could not hang dresses in as blocked off & contained a huge bag - rail in second bedroom was not attached to wall. The small burner on hob did not work. Lighting was terrible especially trying to cook. Needs better bulbs for sure & couldn’t get all the lounge lights to work. Bathroom was lovely, bright & spotless & kitchen clean & had everything we needed although no cupboard space for storing anything making it cluttered. Road was in extremely busy & very noisy. In summary very cute clean cottage but very tiny.

Thank you very much for your feedback which has been very helpful and we will look to address the issues you have raised where we can i.e. the poor lighting in the kitchen, the wardrobe space and the cooker. The property is a 19th century period cottage with smaller rooms which is featured as being on the main road into Lyme Regis and therefore the road can be busy. It is also featured with no private parking. The back garden has since been landscaped, making it more suitable for a dog, and the issues you have raised with the steps have all been addressed and also a hand rail is now installed at the front of the property for additional safety when crossing the road. The bed in the main bedroom is a full sprung double mattress which means it is firm. Whether someone likes a firm or soft mattress we feel is a personal choice. The second bedroom is as described and shown in the pictures with a mezzanine double bed and a solid set of steps leading up to it which suits an older child. The futon in the room is a standard single bed which suits a younger child. The clothes rail has also now been fixed. Property Owner

  • "Hey, we did love the stay."

Great area. The only thing we would like to ask if it can be fixed it was the patio steps. Very steep and not safe for someone with a bit unbalance.or low mobility.

Thank you very much for your helpful feedback. We are pleased you had a lovely stay. We are addressing the issue of the steps at the rear of the property over this winter ready for guests next year. We hope to see you at Anne’s Pantry again soon. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Anne’s Pantry in Uplyme."

It was very well located for daily visits down to Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas. The cottage was very comfortable, full of character and made very good use of the space available so as not to feel small or cramped at all. Our girls (10 and 5) enjoyed the split level second bedroom, the elder of whom particularly loving her elevated sleeping platform. It was nice to have a small garden at the rear to sit and enjoy the nice weather in. Overall, we had a lovely week in Uplyme. The only (very minor) negatives would be the parking situation. With no allocated spaces, there was no guarantee of a nearby space, which when loading/ unloading or coming back from a long day out, meant a slightly tricky walk alongside a fairly busy road with no pavements. Not a huge issue, but certainly something families with younger children should be aware of. As mentioned, these are not complaints at all, just observations- we really did have a fantastic time.

I think it would benefit future listing describing this better. Lovely decor and really cosy place.

Thank you for your feedback. We are looking to do some renovation work to the rear garden over this winter period including addressing the steps up to the courtyard. It will also include making the courtyard area more dog friendly. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a wonderful holiday, with a very generous Welcome Pack to start the break."

Accommodation very clean and we'll equipped. The only slight negative are the steps up to the roof bedroom which are far too steep, therefore we didn't consider it a Sleeps 4. Location excellent with the shaded river walk into Lyme a welcome alternative on a hot sunny day! Would highly recommend.
