  • "Lovely cottage in nice location, very comfortable and clean."

welcome pack, nice touch. Property cannot be seen from the road, name plate at end of drive would be useful. Very narrow road, unable to see either way when exiting the drive onto the road, have to drive off blind. Decking very slippery when wet, note on patio door would be useful.

  • "Charlesmead is in such a great location, just a short and very picturesque walk into Lyme Regis along the river."

The views from the property and garden are really lovely and we were made to feel very welcome.

  • "In need of tlc generally, needs decorating, new dining and living room furniture, and tidying of what was clearly a gorgeous garden at one point."

Exterior of house and garden shabby. Beds very comfortable. Linen provided was good. Lots of extras which some homes don't provide, such as loo rolls, bin bags, dishwasher tabs, tea, coffee, handwash. Lovely welcome basket. A comfortable and enjoyable stay in a stunning location, but the property needs some work.

The only, very minor, niggle is the lack of lighting over the bathroom mirror. Beautiful garden and views. We look forward to returning next year. Many thanks to Ian, the owner.

  • "Charlesmead is an outstanding wooden bungalow that enabled us to spend a really relaxing holiday here."

It is superbly furnished & equipped; furthermore, it is enclosed by a lovely garden with an exquisite collection of shrubs & trees all arranged with an artist's eye. The view from the wooden balcony to the hills in the north-east is very pleasant & restful. Ian, the owner, was very welcoming & helpful in accommodating our needs. We definitely want to stay here again in the future.

  • "The property needs some updating and maintenance, the guttering outlet was blocked with a plant that we had to pull out to let the water run away, the drainage to the rear had the grating removed and lent against the wall which is a trip hazard, also no welcome pack which is unusual for lyme Bay holidays we think that charlesmead was over priced for the time of rental."

  • "Very comfortable, well-equipped accommodation with great views, and we appreciated the patio being in sunshine both morning and early evening!"

The shop at the local garage is very useful and the bus service along the coast is excellent. The riverside walk into Lyme is very attractive, but walking back after dinner you definitely need a torch. We had a great holiday and would definitely stay at Charlesmead again.
