Some nice touches However very small bedrooms and bathroom is ridiculously small. No coffee machine. Also no recycling which is disappointing.

  • "We loved our time at Goody’s and Hope Cove: the location (nearby the sea, the Coastal Path, nice restaurants), the cozy, bright, well equipped clean home (Goody))."

We were lucky to have sunny weather so I would have loved a more comfortable possibility to sit outside.

If you have a bigger car other than that we will not be going there again due to the fact about what you said and we found it expensive for what it was.

  • "Super super clean, very cosy little cottage!"

For us it would have just made life easier if the garden was bit more enclosed but I know that was said on the description. Only other thing is that I felt it was missing dinner bowls. but Overall super cosy and clean!

It was lovely and peaceful, except some noise on the last night, Easter Sunday. We would thoroughly recommend this place. It is very comfortable with sea glimpses and well equipped.

The property

In the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hope Cove, a charming picture-postcard fishing community, is visible from Goody, a magnificent first-floor apartment (AONB).

For a couple travelling with a small dog or for a family break, this quaint apartment makes the ideal home base.

You may explore a variety of rock pools on the golden sand beach in less than a minute by taking a short stroll there.

Three guests will enjoy Goody's fully furnished kitchen, breathtaking views from every window, use of the community garden, assigned parking space, and near accessibility to a number of neighbourhood attractions.

The Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel, shining white on its own tidal island where Agatha Christie wrote two of her novels, is visible across the bay as you up the steps that lead to a fully decked balcony.

Take in the stunning sea views as you ascend the steps.

Enter Goody's cosy kitchen and dining room, where you may prepare mouthwatering meals and dine while admiring the surrounding rolling landscape, which includes the lovely old-fashioned thatched houses that define the hamlet of Inner Hope.

After a day of exploration, unwind in the living area with its comfortable chairs, electric fireplace, Smart TV with DVD player, and Velux windows through which you can take in the breathtaking scenery.

Find the rear communal lawn, the ideal place to relax, while cooking up a feast on the BBQ and watching the sun set over the horizon while your canine buddy stretches.

A king-size and a single bedroom are available once you complete getting ready for bed in the bathroom, so you can rest before seeing South Devon's attractions.

A short walk will take you to the Hope Cove village centre where breakfast is served at The Cove.

After that, you may swim or paddleboard at the nearby beach, which is only 70 yards away, before visiting the renowned Hope Cove Gallery to peruse the creations of local artists.

Take advantage of live music at award-winning bar/restaurant The Cove, or enjoy the meals of the Hope & Anchor or Hope Cove House while dining in a heated pod at The Lobster Pod Bistro with views of the harbour and beach.

Travel to Salcombe, a lively resort town, where you can find a variety of specialty stores, restaurants, and art galleries.

After that, explore South Sands Beach, one of South Devon's most pristine beaches, and get an ice cream at The Winking Prawn.

Enjoy sweeping coastal vistas and unique, unusual, and tropical blossoms exploding with colour at Overbeck's subtropical garden paradise high up on the cliffs above Salcombe.

These blooms thrive in Salcombe's renowned microclimate.

Visit Kingsbridge, a charming market town with a gorgeous estuary and a variety of shops and restaurants, to cap off your trip.

Sample some fresh seafood at The Crabshell Inn, the ideal place to observe the activity of boats along the quay.

With all of this, Goody is the best option for a memorable stay in a beautiful, natural setting on the Devon coast.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.
