  • "This property is lovely, and for me, well worth the premium you pay for it."

I really couldn’t fault the accommodation. Could be picky on a personal level, but really not anything I’d actually complain about. However, I don’t think the listing is transparent when it comes to parking, until contact from letting agent the week before stay. Even then, I think the ‘pitfalls’ could be made clearer. Only one hour between 10-6 on roadside………....IF you can get a space. We luckily got one to unpack and pack) Paid for a permit, £50 for week, for local car parks. I was caught out, which was essentially my own fault, but I found the information misleading, as I paid for a permit for nearby car parks, and the information pack tells you which is nearest. That being the Ropery. But despite being a council car park, where charges are collected by ringo, Ropery is not covered! So I had to pay £25! (£50 but reduced if you pay it quickly). So when, in the information pack, it says the Ropery is closest (by a few yards) it should say in red print ‘your permit does not cover this’ it’s a trap basically, and Jason, from the management company, said several people had been caught out! So I rest my case. Would I go back? Parking issues may put me off. Would I have booked it if the car parking had been transparent? Maybe not, as I do like to be able to park outside my accommodation and I do not like ‘having to hunt for a space’ But just to finish, the apartment itself is delightful

Hi Colin, thank you for taking the time to feed back and for your kind comments about the apartment. We’re sorry to hear about the parking fine you incurred due to finding the parking information in the welcome pack misleading. We’ll look to make the amendments to the wording as you suggest. Additionally, if you could reach out to the Sykes customer service team and provide more details about the fine (e.g. a receipt or bank transfer) we’d be happy to arrange a refund of the £25 you incurred (please note this payment would be arranged by the owners not via Sykes, but they will provide us with the details). Thanks again and we hope you would consider visiting again in the future Property Owner

  • "Big problem with Sykes website listing, it stated "private allocated parking for one vehicle on properties road (saves £50 in peak season)" Not True I had to pay £100 for a two week permit to park on local carparks, Not at the property as no parking was clearly allocated to the property or designated by signage, local council sign states restrictions no space was ever available to unload suitcases near to the property."

By way of this feedback I would like Syked to take note and reimburse me withe the £100 I paid the property management company for the parking. Toilet in the on suit loose Both Toilet seats loose Standard lamp metal shade hanging on by live electrical wires Bedside lamp flickering as if it had a loose connection Sink tap ready to come off Plumber had to be called the repair toilet, Toilet seats and taps Beautiful apartment, beautiful views immaculate and clean, shame about the listing and the maintenance,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your honest feedback: we really appreciate it and we’re glad you found the apartment views enjoyable and the interior immaculate. We’re sorry for the issues you’ve experienced and raised above: The car parking space was actually acquired for the apartment at very late notice during your stay, and our property manager had already arranged the standard public parking permit for your visit. The reserved space will be included in the holiday price for any bookings made after Thursday 11 July (the value is c£50 per week / £100 per fortnight when compared to peak public parking prices). Bookings made before this date will be offered the option of the allocated space or a space in the nearby public carpark on arrival by our property manager. Sykes did send an email to all booked customers explaining this but we apologise that this transition in our process caused confusion for your stay. We’d like to thank you for raising the maintenance issues and allowing us the opportunity to address these - we’re pleased we were able to resolve the tap and toilet seats during your stay, but disappointed you found the light fittings of a poor quality. We’ll be investigating these and will look into repairing or replacing these as soon as possible We hope on balance your stay was an enjoyable one and appreciate you taking the time to help us improve the apartment for future guests Property Owner

As I think everyone has mentioned, the view was amazing. We were thankful for the washing Maschine as we were 3 weeks altogether visiting the UK from Austria. As we haven’t got a car the bus stop only a couple of meters away was also very helpful. There is a regular service to woolacombe and Barnstaple. We enjoyed the walk from Ilfracombe to Lee bay and back along the south west coast way, which starts a few steps from the accommodation.Supermarket, pub and restaurants all in walking distance. We felt very much at home. One negative thing is that we didn’t book for two weeks.

  • "Lovely apartment with amazing views as advertised."

Comfortable living area and a well stocked kitchen with everything that you need. Bedrooms are compact but comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. All in all we had a great stay and would recommend. Things to consider: The stairs - obviously mentioned in the listing so not a surprise - only time it was an issue for us was loading and unloading the car one first and last day. Also when people from other flats are going up and down stairs it’s very loud. The pillows - they were not great would recommend taking your own if you’re fussy about them/have any kind of neck issue. The headboard in the master bedroom is the pretty but not particularly comfortable to lean on. The external bins - the bins were overflowing pretty much every day we were there and we couldn’t find a recycling bin identified for the apartment. The bins were emptied on one of our last days but there then seemed that others were using the apartment’s bin, many on the road had a lock to stop this happening which I can imagine is a pain but it wasn’t ideal walking downstairs not knowing if you were going to be able to put the rubbish anywhere. Because they were overflowing the smell wasn’t great and there were a lot of flies around. Church outside - there is a church outside the bedroom windows which chimes on the hour - if you are a light sleeper this and the seagulls may cause you a problem especially if you have the windows open. All in all the above were minor things and absolutely didn’t dampen our enjoyment, worth mentioning that Jason was a great host and made sure we knew he was available should he be needed. He offered to arrange a parking permit for us just before the stay but we had already purchased one.

Thanks so much for staying at SeaSound and your honest feedback. We've now replaced all the pillows, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We look forward to welcoming you again soon! Property Owner

2 adults and 2 teenagers. Just Wow! A truly beautiful apartment. Very clean, very comfortable and very high quality fixture and fittings (even the kitchen utensils are branded ones!) and a view that I never got tired of! The location is perfect for exploring Ilfracombe so the car could stay in the nearby car park (cove car park near the lifeboat station, 0.18 miles away) the permit for which was sorted prior to arrival by Jason, the host who was super helpful and responsive. A really nice guy. The arrival and departure process was smooth and easy and I didn't struggle to get my car near for unloading/loading. There was a downloadable info pack that had all the instructions for the apartment such as how to use the cooker, thermostat etc. A nice touch. The best food we had was at the nearby pub called the Hip at No8. Really nice burgers and good atmosphere. Lots of restaurants are closed Monday-Wednesday and then get busy so booking is necessary so I didn't try many other places. Wetherspoons is always available and their rooftop area is nice enough. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

The apartment was immaculate and clean on arrival. Everything you needed was provided and Jason was the perfect host. He was helpful and always easy to contact to answer any query. The view from the living space was breath taking and really sold it for us. Although the property was stunning its not ideal for a family of giants with most of my family 6ft plus as a tad on the small size. We all had a great night's sleep with beds and bedding top notch. One of my concerns was the parking which in reality was not an issue. We were able to park outside most days and the restrictions were only from 10am to 5pm so if luck permitted you could park outside overnight. Jason arranged a parking permit at a minimal cost which allowed parking a few minutes away without any fuss and gave peace of mind. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

Our personal recommendations would be - Restaurants: The Antidote No. 71 Pubs: Hip at No.8 (about 200m away - was the hip and pistol) George & Dragon Don’t miss the Tunnels and Beaches, the Verity statue in the Harbour, the coastal views and the RNLI training on a Thursday around 6.

Well equipped and spacious kitchen and living area. The decor is very nice though I felt was to the detriment of storage in places e.g. bedside tables have no draw space and only 3 very small draws in the master bedroom cupboard. Though lots of hanging space in both bedrooms and shelves/racks in twin room. We know local area well and it is well placed for easy access to harbour, high street, theatre etc. be ware of the main steps- very slippy when it has rained. Obviously the view is the showstopper and can happily while the time away watching the boats and the birds with a coffee or a wine.
