  • "Gorgeous couple."

Very welcoming. Excellent accommodation. An ideal location for exploring the surrounding area. It is also very quiet. This is a major plus. We would love to come again.

  • "Lovely, well appointed end cottage in a very quiet & peacefull setting, just on the edge of a small village (Woolsery) which nevertheless had a pub/restaurant, a Grocery shop, and a Fish & Chip shop plus fresh farm milk available just around the corner."

A short journey to Bideford also gave you Morrisons, Asda & Aldi supermarkets.

The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming - with a delicious cream tea all ready for our arrival. It was a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful area, and a most welcoming place to return to at the end of a busy day.

  • "We spent a fantastic 5 days in Old Hammetts."

It was a lovely old cottage with so much history. Brenda greeted us and showed us around the house which has lots of leaflets and recommendations on where to visit. The house was stocked with everything we needed and there is a lovely field at the back of the property where our boys loved to play football. Lots of things to do around the area. Brenda was a around when we needed her and was very kind to lend us a rucksack as we'd left ours behind by accident. On leaving she gave our youngest a book on Kings and Queens of England as he'd shown such an interest in the history of the cottage. It was a lovely touch and something he will remember. Must see places to visit are Hartland Quay, Sandy Mouth Beach and the self serve milkshake hut next door to the property. Thank you Brenda

  • "We spent a relaxing fortnight in the cottage which was warm and cosy."

Eventually meeting the 3 felines next door, cottage well equipped with a nice kitchen, comfy sitting room and comfortable beds. The only drawback was the stairs which we found a challenge but then we are both in our late seventies! Certainly it didn't detract from the stay, and gave us some extra exercise. The only comment is that a downstairs toilet would have been nice, but then good wi-fi and TV reception made up for any inconvenience.

  • "A delightful annexe to a lovely Devon long house, steeped in history."

Very comfortable and homely, well equipped with everything you need. Peaceful rural location approx 20 minutes walk from Woolsery village which has a pub and a general store which is well stocked and keeps long hours. Ideally situated for exploring the North Devon area. The owners are very pleasant and helpful but not intrusive, the complimentary cream tea on arrival was a nice bonus and very enjoyable. Safe off road parking is available on the property. Colin and Sarah 10th - 17th September 2022.

  • "This is a gem of a cottage to stay in, warm and comfortable with the use of an extensive garden."

Brenda, the lovely host left a delicious cream tea to welcome us and told us a lot about the history of the property and the village. We found it was a perfect base to explore the area. So much to see and do locally. We met two of Brenda's cats but sadly never saw Pedro the semi residential peacock!

Arrived to find scones and cakes and a warm welcome from Brenda. The house had everything we wanted and to be honest no wifi is a blessing so you can at away and switch off. Unfortunately perfect 4G mobile service meant work could still Find me! So much history in the house and surrounding area, would be good to have it written down in a welcome pack? On our exit we packed up and went to spend the day on Croyde. Brenda texted us to say we'd left something, she then drove out to Barnstaple to meet us rather than us making a 45 min journey back on ourselves...amazing service and can't thank her and Ian enough. Brilliant throughout. Thanks
