A comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location A welcome pack and first day visit from the owner were both appreciated One minor issue prevented us from scoring it higher - the grouting in the bathroom needs attention
Thank you for your feedback and drawing our attention to the grouting. It has now been sorted! I'm so glad you liked the cottage. Property Owner

"A lovely comfortable and very clean cottage."
The owner contacted me prior to our stay with clear travelling instructions and useful information about the property. She also included suggested places to visit nearby and recommended places to eat out which helped us to plan our stay in Cornwall. Despite the bad weather we had a lovely holiday in Cornwall and it was good to return to a warm cottage after a day out.

The property
Mimi’s Cottage is an attractive stone dwelling attached to what used to be a Cornish smallholding and working farm, on the outskirts of the pretty village of St Neot, on the Southern side of Bodmin Moor. Mimi’s Cottage is a peaceful rural retreat with a perfect base for exploring the lush Cornish countryside. This delightful cottage is beautifully furnished and has a very modern bathroom and kitchen, with the sitting room complete with the additional comfort of a woodburner for those chilly evenings. There is a private patio overlooking the attractive meadows where you can often see buzzards hover overhead, the perfect spot to unwind in nature and enjoy alfresco dining. There are plenty of scenic walks available from this cottage, through the woods, along the river, or just a short walk to the village pub. Carnglaze Caverns, on the outskirts of St Neot, is a relic of the mining heritage of the area and is well worth a visit, as is Trethevy Quoit, also known as the Giant's House, a 5,000 year old chamber tomb. Bodmin Moor is steeped in history, legend and ancient myths and there are numerous landmarks to discover here including the Cheesewring, Rillaton Barrow and the Hurlers. The Minions Heritage Centre is also worth a visit as it tells of many stories of the Moor and the village itself has a disused mineral railway which can be walked. Both the North and South ends of the Cornish coast can be reached within a half hour drive from this St Neot cottage, meaning you just have to decide whether you'd prefer the spectacular waves of the North coast or the gentle coves of the South. Mimi’s Cottage is a rural Cornish delight and with so much to see and do, you'll want to visit again and again!
About the location
ST NEOT
Dobwalls 3 miles; Liskeard 6.5 miles; Bodmin 9 miles.
St Neot is one of Bodmin Moor’s prettiest villages and nestles in the sheltered St Neot river valley on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor in south east Cornwall, enjoying the mild Cornish climate and an outstanding community spirit. The village has a pub, shop and the Door Step Green, a garden created by villagers and a wonderful peaceful place to relax near the church, made famous by its medieval stained glass windows and the Holy Well nearby. Just south of the village are the Carnglaze Caverns, the result of slate quarrying and mining in the 18th and 19th century and now a fabulous tourist attraction open all year round and with three gigantic caverns with stunning subterranean lake in 6.5 acres of woodlands with fairy glen and picnic areas. There are some outstanding and varied walks in the area, including the “Two Valleys Walk” which follows part of the Fowey River, followed by farmland, open moors and forest, and a walk to the spectacular Golitha Falls is also a must. Many archaeological remains have been found on Bodmin Moor and the well known Jamaica Inn and the magic of Dozmary Pool, where King Arthur's sword Excalibur lies, are all within easy reach of St Neot. The north and south Cornish coasts can be reached in half an hour, where practically all forms of watersports and beach activities can be enjoyed. Other places of interest are Siblyback Lake, just 2 miles away and Colliford Lake, 5 miles away. Siblyback Lake is an ideal location for sailing, windsurfing and canoeing or take to Colliford Lake for a relaxing day fishing.
