  • "The little hut was cosy and cute."

.but whilst our stay,.. there was lots of flies in the hut..which was a bit off putting..and you could here them buzzing around inside at night. The little hut was clean but maybe feeling tired with all her visitors and she would benefit from a pamper!! Not as peaceful as I wished..as the road gets pretty busy..and Fern is close to it. Views are beautiful and seeing the cows and geese in the fields was lovely. My dogs had a brilliant time being free from restriction..and in a safely enclosed area with lots for them to sniff out. On the whole it was a lovely break.

  • "Lovely holiday."

Really cosy and romantic place. Hot tub was amazing. Did take a while to heat on the first day but after that it heated up quite quickly. We had an issue with hot water but the owners sorted that very quickly. Bed was a little softer than I’m used too but was very comfortable. There is another guy in front of this one but you can only see the neighbours as either of you walk to and from the huts so it’s secluded and private. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

Thank you Julie and Andrew you thought of everything which made our stay even more perfect. We took our dog Lily with us and she enjoyed running around, as the area was all fenced off we knew she was safe. Would definitely return.

  • "Excellent stay at Fern shepherds hut, which had everything needed to make your stay comfortable."

Fresh farm eggs were available, which were delicious. The hut is warm and comfortable with access to the large ‘garden’ area for the dogs. It was lovely to wake up to birds singing and sheep in the next field. The hot tub was easy to heat up, just keep and eye on your fire. We also cooked on the firepit which was great. The hosts were great and available if needed. In conclusion, a quiet fabulous stay in the country. Highly recommended, and we will be back. Thank you!

  • "Fern is a little bit of heaven in a beautiful county."

Very cosy and comfortable. The directions to get there were clear and accurate. The facilities were very good. I didn’t use the hot tub or the fire pit but maybe next time. The owners have provided a wonderful, relaxing escape. The fresh eggs are delicious. I wish I could have stayed longer than 3 nights but as it was a last minute booking I really enjoyed my mini break.

  • "Lovely stay."

Exactly as described. Facilities were all working well, including hot shower. Great enclosed garden to let the dogs out. Was unable to get the hot tub to a warm temp despite having the fire on for 3 hours, but it was raining and cold so maybe a good thing! Lovely area around to go to pubs and walks. Very little signal so nice to switch off and relax. Highly recommend for a weekend break.

  • "A lovely presented property with all you could need to enjoy a stay."

Great location to enjoy the countryside and many locations nearby. Even despite the inclement weather we had a very enjoyable stay. One thing to note if you have small or young dogs like us they can get out under the picket gate. We place logs from the wood pile to block this gap.

The location is so peaceful and private, perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. Inside the hut was just as lovely, and had everything you needed. We enjoyed exploring the local area with some walks; the coastline is stunning. All in all a great holiday and would wholly recommend!

  • "What a lovely little hut, everything you needed for an enjoyable stay."

We loved the hot tub and used it every day. Wi-Fi would have been good as we used our phones a lot to find all the nice places to visit so had to top up the data. We loved being surrounded by nature with all the modern convenience the hut had to offer and only us in the field wonderful.

  • "Wow, what can we say other than WOW!"

! What a great time we had staying at the Fern. Not only did we love every minute, our 2 cockapoos, Maggie & Mabel, had the time of their lives there too. They absolutely loved running around the grounds and seeing some of the farm animals from across the way. And we were able to relax, knowing that it was in enclosed, so the dogs were safe at all times. The hot tub was perfect, along with the outside fire. Julie, the owner, went out her way to ensure we had the best stay there. From providing stuff for the dogs (poo bags, water/food bowls, toys etc), she also posted back to us a few bits that we had accidentally left behind there - ops! The Fern was super clean and comfortable. Just an all round perfect stay. We will definitely be back!! And I'll be recommending it to everyone I know!! Thanks so much again Julie!!
