"Thank you for a warm and welcoming stay, with added hospitality towards the children."
It was a wonderful introduction for them of the countryside environment and they have an everlasting memory of their first ever holiday away at your lovely apartment to remember, along with the stunning countryside and seaside. We loved baking at night from the facilities you had provided in the apartment and spent fun time together in games room and their room in the attic room made them feel like they were having an adventure. The washing machine was much appreciated on seaside days for wet towels and sinks in bedroom added help. They asked will we come again on leaving, and we definitely would, if possible in future.

"The property was quite good, bedrooms very spacious."
We were not happy with the miss information about the walking distance to the pub and beach. It stated that it was only a short walk but in fact was at least half an hour if you were fit. The garden and games room were very good and kept the grandchildren amused. Would also have preferred that the bed linen was provided.

"The listing advertised the property as suitable for 6 people."
Whilst the bedrooms had 2 double and 2 single beds, the downstairs accommodation could only barely accommodate 2 adults and 1 teenager. The photos definitely make it look bigger than it is. Misleading. The advertised trampoline was not there and the garden furniture was rotten and very unsafe. The games room was in poor condition with much of the equipment broken. All of the darts were broken so we only used the pool table. Access to the games room and garden was not child friendly at all and the rear entry point was a series of poorly maintained gates and doors that bordered on being dangerous. The bathroom window was broken and could not be closed. Whilst the accommodation was clean it was generally run down with much of the equipment needing to be replaced ie living room table leg was falling off, the kitchen knives had tips broken off. There was only 1 parking space available for the property which would not be ideal if you were booking for 6 guests. I would not recommend this accommodation for anyone with young children, the elderly, or anyone with mobility issues due to the amount of stairs and uneven floors and extremely poor lighting.

"Everything we needed!"
We loved the games room and had lots of fun. Nothing bad to say at all, came home totally relaxed

"We hired both of the apartments for a large family holiday and they were just the right size and comfort to facilitate all 8 of us together, including 2 dogs."
The cottage keeper was onsite if there was any issues. Great facilities in the game room to keep the kids occupied on rainy days, the garden was great for the dogs and the cottages were close enough to the coastal beaches.

"Everything perfect, accomodation, location, friendliness and helpfullness of property owner."
Many thanks.

"A very traditional setting with all the amenities you need."
Beds very comfortable with a lovely view of the sea in the distance from both spacious bedrooms. Games room cold but great especially if you have teens! Parking limited so only room for one car per booking so could prove difficult if two families staying in Hillymouth but sure if requested at time of booking something could be arranged. Richenda’s correspondence via email throughout the visit showed great care for her guests:)

"Super holiday."
Lovely accommodation with amazing views. Superb area to visit. I stayed here with my parents and my two kids. Plenty of space. Host Cathy is around to help with any queries.

"It was very nicely located with clean environment and a very polite and humble caretaker."

"Lovely break with family."
The flat has a well equipped kitchen & spacious bedrooms. We stayed as 4 adults & a baby, was enough room for us all and added benefit of having a high chair & baby bath available for us was useful. Flat very clean and tidy. Only negatives for us was the local village is down an incredibly steep hill & narrow country lanes so we weren’t able to take our baby down for a walk as we didn’t feel safe pushing him up/down. Having said that, ilfracombe & woolacombe are only a 10 minute drive and there are plenty of things to do there. If we were going as a couple without young children, we would certainly return and walk to the village more often as it is very pretty and a nice place to look around.

"We were well informed with directions and checking in."
Comfortable stay and very well equipped kitchen. Games room had lots to do. Fabulous garden to relax in and safe for dogs. Stunning views all round. Need a car but only 10 min drive from Ilfracombe. To the only pub not far but Very hilly, same to beach only did it once. Would recommend this place for relaxing quiet holiday. A little pricey perhaps but it did have potential to sleep 8. There were 3 of us and pooch so plenty of room. Lovely hosts too.

"The positives."
•Location is great for exploring north Devon •Flat is basic but adequate •Games room has pool and table tennis and some beach equipment to borrow Negatives • there has been little money spent here for years. The mattresses are hard and the sky is way old. • had to bring own linen basically another suitcase • Internet is only in the living room and very slow . It is only superficially clean. Dogs hairs all over kids clothes not from out dog . Stairs are a nightmare in the dark You do though get what you pay for and if we wanted more we should have and will pay more next time

"Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children - 15 and 9, had a brilliant week staying in Hillymouth."
It was perfectly placed to explore the surrounding North Devon coast with Ilfracombe and Woolacombe being very close. Lee Bay is lovely too and much quieter. The apartment was very clean and had all the amenities we needed, we were thrilled we could even see the sea in the distance from the bedrooms. The games room was a big hit with the kids (and big kids) enabling us to spend some fun family time playing together. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful too, the sign just inside the front door 'arrive as guests leave as friends' couldn't have said it better. Reading some of the previous reviews we feel there have been some unfair comments made about this property by people who clearly didn't read the information carefully. We have had a great week and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future. Thank you.

"When we arrived the lady said our keys in the door."
Welcome pack of tea and coffee in the kitchen. The main problem we’re the stairs expecting a apartment on the ground floor. Both being elderly and my disability to climb Stairs very difficult falling up and down the stairs on several occasion as the whole apartment are stairs devideing bathroom and bedroom. Also I was not informed to take cleaning products or tea towelsDo they expect you to stay all week and not clean shower/bath or the cooker. There was nothing at all not Even a broom to sweep the floor.I did go and buy products to clean. As for lookout from the windows were onto a dirty motor home I mean dirty belonging to the person looking after the apartments.the other window looked out Onto neighbouring cars.as for the garden the lady did not tell us about keys To get into the garden going through a shed, this was informed to us on the Thursday from another disgruntled person Very disappointing shall put a Red Cross against this holiday
Thank you very much for leaving a feedback. We are extremely sorry to hear that you have been struggling with the stairs, Hillymouth is clearly advertised as being on two floors, so if you have mobility issues it might be better next time to choose a ground floor accommodation instead. We provide a hand rub, Blade QAC Multi-surface bactericidal cleaner, blue semi-disposable all-purpose cloths and black bin liners in the accommodation; you can also find a hand brush and a dustpan under the sink. We do ask out guests to bring their own tea towels, but this has never been an issue in the past. In regards to the views from the property I have always had very positive feedback, however we want to apologise about the camper van, please rest assured that it has now been removed. I am sorry that you didn't feel able to speak to me about any issues during your stay. I would have liked the opportunity to put things right for you where I could. Thank you again for your feedback. "As a family of four with two very small children, this accommodation we felt wasn't family friendly, although there is sleeping for 6 persons, the overall space in the living area is very tight."
unfortunately for us there were far too many stairs and found our 3year old child sat on a ledge after climbing through a gap in the spindles as there was one missing. when we booked the property with linen included but was changed by the owners closer to booking, other properties are still providing a linen service. The location is ideal reach for Lee bay and both Illfracombe & Woolacombe there is good off-road parking and was clean

"Just the Stairs, for us who are in our eightys, it was too much, first up to the second floor to the Lounge and Kitchen, then up againt to the Bedrooms But other wise lovely apartment, having a poorly Husband and Dog was tirng for me."
Thank you for finding the apartments for us. Barbara

"A very cosy and warm accommodation with everything we needed."
The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. We were warmly welcomed and we found it very clean and tidy. The location was lovely and was really good for exploring as we were able to visit a few beautiful local beaches, towns and villages. There were also plenty of dog friendly pubs and cafes to choose from.

"Great Location and central to all the lovely places we wanted to visit in the week we were there."
Very friendly owners, we had a memorable BBQ in their lovely lawned back garden with far reaching views. Fab!!

"The cottage was cosy and it was a great location to explore the local area ."
The owners are lovely friendly people who made sure our holiday was a good experience. We will return. The beach at Woolacombe was fantastic for waves, surfing and for little ones building sand castles and exploring the rocky pools for fish and crabs. One of the best family holidays we have had and our 2 granddaughters agreed ♥️

"Lovely cosy apartment, owner was on site and helpful and friendly."
I would return.

"The apartment was far too small for 6."
The living area is more suitable for 4 or even 2 to be totally comfortable and able to move around the space freely. Table in the kitchen made it impossible for us to use the area. Beautiful surroundings, including a good games room and enclosed garden. Good spot for visiting north Devon.

"There are a lot of steps involved."
As I am waiting for back surgery I probably would not have booked this particular place if that had been made clearer.
