  • "A superb property with high quality furnishings and fittings with a well equipped kitchen."

The cottage has a beautiful garden with plenty of space to enjoy sitting out at differing times of day. Ideally situated for walks along the coastal path and many places of interest nearby.

  • "A great experience was had by all."

..very much a 5 star property that will be very difficult to match. Willow Cottage is by far the best property we have stayed in, offering every type of kitchen and utility room appliances you could ever need along with a much admired pantry! We all very much appreciated all the space the house offers and spent a lot of time admiring the beautiful garden with so many different seating areas and a large lawn t play games on .....everyone was happy. All the house views and local footpaths were a complete treat, with easy access to Dartmouth and the many beaches. A special thanks to Sally for providing such a fantastic cottage in a very peaceful location, especially enjoyed all your information on the many flowers, trees and animals. It was lovely to meet you and thank you for being so caring with our young granddaughter. We all look forward to returning to Willow Cottage.

We all loved it and everything about the property. The gardens, the views were fantastic along with the walks and only a stones throw away from Dartmouth harbour walking along the coastal path. The cottage is perfect with everything that we needed and more. Clean and very homely. Would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage.

  • "The Cottage was delightful and very comfortable, well appointed and peaceful."

We had everything that we could have wanted. The gardens added to the pleasure, they were beautifully designed to complement the house. The owner gave us a very enjoyable and knowledgeable tour of the garden attached to the main house. She and her husband were very friendly, and Dave, the head gardener was very helpful.

Great cottage, well equipped. Decorated with taste - we especially loved the artwork. Yes, previous comments are correct - the sofa is really uncomfortable!

We've listened and replaced the sofas: some guests love them low and squishy; others don't. Its always tricky to find a construction that suits everyone. I think the new ones are a very comfortable half way house. As the room has plenty of space, we have also added a pair of arm chairs that are more upright. Property Owner

Sadly Sykes cottages appallingly incompetent. I would only go back if they had nothing to do with it.

  • "This was our second visit to Willow Cottage, this time for two weeks, as we so enjoyed our time there last year."

It was just as good as we remembered, with the exception of the sofas, which were just as uncomfortable! Other than that, we think the cottage has style and quality. It is wonderfully spacious, from the large hall with a big walk -in coats cupboard, to all the bedrooms. Even the bathrooms are roomy. In fact, it's rather a misnomer to call it a cottage at all. The garden is beautiful, still with lots of colour even in late September and we were disappointed to be unable to use it as much as last year because the weather was poor. But it is still a joy to look out on. Finally, the large variety of gorgeous home-grown vegetables, eggs and sausages which were there on our arrival and replenished the second week were like two Harvest Festivals!

We loved staying there! The beds are extremely comfy and the showers are amazing! The home grown vegetables was a lovely touch and we used nearly all of them. We have gorgeous weather so got to spend a lot of time in the beautiful garden. The owners must be very proud of this cottage as it’s stunning. Thank you

Som minor comments - we used the fire most evenings but we're unsure how to dispose of the ashes, unable to find a dustpan and brush or instructions where to find fire gloves. Also we had a stream of ants visit in the evening in the sitting room via a gap in the skirting board under the radiator. We found a few floating in our drinks and crawling on our clothes. Strangely none in the kitchen/dining room where we ate meals

  • "The property was beautiful."

The location was beautiful. My only request to make things better is that I would advise the owners to replace the sofas in the living room. They are a very odd design which is too low and wide. They were very uncomfortable and my older relatives struggled to stand up and get off the sofas. Even myself and my wife in our late 30s struggled to sit down and get up off the sofas. Other guests have also commented on this problem. Please replace the sofas and the property would be utter perfection!

We did however find the sofa’s in the lounge too low for visitors of our generation. I had noticed other reviews had commented on this. This by no means spoiled our holiday but perhaps the owners could consider remedying this.

  • "Willow Cottage is beautiful, both the cottage & garden were immaculately presented, the accommodation is spacious and the standard of fittings and appliances are first class."

On most occasions property photos deceive but in the case of Willow Cottage they didn't actually do justice and during our week we were trying to pick fault but couldn't find anything of note except perhaps the lowness of the settees although they are still comfortable. The cottage is ideally situated for coastal walks with Dartmouth accessible on foot, although the walk back is quite hilly and beautiful beaches only short drives away. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Willow Cottage.

So beautifully decorated and a gorgeous supply of fresh veg on arrival. Such a lovely quiet spot and we had a great time. Unfortunately I went to write in the visitors book just before we left but I had packed the childrens pens and didn’t have anything to write with! Also the recycling boxes all labelled in the utility were great…but it didn’t say about any outside bins to empty them in to. So hope we left it all ok! Thanks for a lovely house providing us with a fab stay.

The house is beautiful and has so many lovely features that make it a luxurious and comfortable home from home. You can tell everything has been thought about, and it certainly met our family needs. The garden is lovely and is so well looked after. The views from the cottage are stunning, and it is situated in a peaceful setting with lovely coastal walks. The only minor thing that we thought could be improved was the high chair, which our little one didn’t get on with. We truly loved Willow Cottage and all it has to offer. • "This house is just lovely."

The pictures don't do it justice. It is beautifully furnished and finished, has stunning views, is well located for a scenic walk into Dartmouth, and was an extremely comfortable and pleasant place to spend four nights with my family and my parents. Even Storm Dennis couldn't spoil it - it just made sitting by the log burner that much nicer. The booking process was very easy and the Coast and Country staff were extremely proactive and made everything simple. The contact from the housekeeper before we arrived, as well as the thoughtful (and delicious) gifts left for us, made us feel very welcome. I would hesitate to make any suggestion, as there has clearly been so much thought put into this house, but with 6 of us staying, I would have found it very helpful to have more than 6 water glasses, some more mugs, and also a couple of much larger pans for use on the stove top. Other than that, the facilities were brilliant. Thanks for a fabulous half term break!
