  • "Cottage was perfect for two people."

Easy to find and near to things of interest. Weather was very wet but cottage was cosy and well equipped. Lovely walk in shower and bath. Although there is a road near to the cottage it was very quiet. Would definitely come back again.

  • "We found the accommodation clean and very comfortable."

It was not far from all the places we wanted to visit. If outside, you certainly can hear the traffic noise from the busy A35, but we didn't find that an issue and I would certainly recommend The Hideaway as a base to any one thinking of coming to this fabulous part of the country. If you want a suggestion on improving the overall experience, then perhaps putting a coffee machine in each of the properties might be an idea.

  • "Comfortable cottage with everything you need."

Easy parking and a great bathroom and shower. Outlook from the windows looks over the car park.

  • "Once again a lovely two week holiday at the Hideaway."

Smashing base for touring about from and quiet for restful days. Having stayed in the Hideaway for the last 3 years this was our last visit having exhausted all the places to visit.

Sorry to hear that it’s your last visit, but we do understand, take care Janette and david Property Owner

  • "The photo's do not do this accommodation justice."

We weren't short of anything we needed except maybe a teabag on arrival but coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits were provided to start us off. The bed is super comfortable, the bathroom is very nice with a lovely large shower cubicle. Everything is spotlessly clean. We were fortunate enough to have great weather & our patio area had the perfect balance of sun and shade,(I followed the sun round with my chair amd my fair haired hubby & dog followed the shade

  • "Booked late on with the principal criteria being proximity to our son and family."

The accommodation was adequate for our needs , the bed was very comfortable and the shower was superb. On the downside, the property is quite dark inside because there are no rear windows and the lighting provided (except in the bathroom) is inadequate. There are no views from the property other than across the car park and the small patio, next to your parked car, is not an enticing place for evening drinks, or a meal. There is little that can be done about that, it is what it is as a former stable complex but no effort had been made to make it slightly more attractive. There were brackets for hanging baskets outside but no hanging baskets. As a result of the above, we felt that the price charged was high. Our plot also lost the evening sun earlier than the other units. On arrival, the 'welcome' basket consisted of 2 packs of biscuits, coffee sachets and tea bags. Previous stayers we noted from the guest book received the more normal Prosecco! Nor could we quickly chill the wine we brought, as we arrived to the fridge turned off and the door wide open! By contrast, our son paid less for 2 bedrooms with a nice sitting out area and views across the valley and only a mile away, also on a farm.

  • "We did enjoy our stay at the barn."

It was ideal for us. The barn was very clean and had everything you could wish for. We could sit out on the patio when it was too hot to take our dog out. The photo on the website doesn’t do it justice. It’s much nicer than it looks. We will definitely come back. Thank you

Thank you, you are welcome anytime, so glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner
