  • "Despite the owner knowing about the sofa for over 12 months nothing has been done, part of it is actually broke."

So for 7 days we had to either sit on the dining chairs or more likely, on each others bed, having conversations room ti room. Shame really but it shows the contempt in which the owner holds its paying customers. The rest of the home is irrelevant ,after finding a big fault within an hour of being in the accommodation, especially one in which the owner has known about for a long time, makes anything good irrelevant. I'm disappointed in myself for booking it,and wasting over £400, I simply assumed the problem would of been sorted as the replies by the owner said. I cannot recommend anyone books this to be honest because it's simply a money making enterprise for the owner where the customer is an irrelevance.

I am sorry to hear you had problems with the height of the sofa. We would encourage guests to report any issues to the agent as soon as they are discovered so they can be dealt with immediately to ensure guests visits are as comfortable as possible. The sofa height has been rectified and a thorough check of the sofa has been carried out and we were unable to find any damage nor have we had previous reports of damage. Again I am sorry you found the sofa too low. Property Owner

  • "Sorry but due to the sofa being so squishy and too low, my old mother in law couldn’t not seat on it."

Couldn’t seat together as family and she had to seat on her bed most of the time. Other people did comment on the sofa but I thought that by now would have been replaced.

  • "Well appointed and comfy chalet."

Would certainly stay here again. A welcome book would have been appreciated with information on where things can be found in the chalet such as where the ironing board is, how the heated towel rail works, etc and where the main bins are, and detailing local amenities, such as buses and taxi services. It should be emphased that you are looking for a number rather than a name when trying to find the chalet in the first instance as there is no office on site to make enquiries at.

Thank you for the feedback I am glad you had an enjoyable holiday. I am pulling together a welcome book and will add those things you mentioned. Many thanks Property Owner

  • "Lovely little holiday home on a nice quiet site with easy access to the town."

Had everything we needed. Only issue we had was that the sofa is very low and my mum struggled to get up once she’d sat down. Would have liked to have had some WiFi connectivity and have been able to watch Netflix’s but didn’t effect the stay.

Thank you for the feedback. The sofa will be replaced in the future as other feedback has said it is too low. Property Owner

  • "Great location, comfortable and well equipped."

Could do with an info sheet i.e where to find the ironing board, and as there's no Wi-Fi a bus timetable. Other than that we had a great stay.

Thank you for your feedback. So glad you had a lovely stay. The bus timetable does change periodically but I can easily make a crib sheet giving details of where to find places and what buses run past Norton Park Property Owner

Lovely place, A few things that need a little bit of maintenance was the kitchen tap was a-bit wobbly, The bedroom tv remote batteries was rusted they need new ones And lastly the blinds I found was abit see through with neighbours being able to see through at night

Hi there thank you for your feedback. I have replaced all the batteries in the remotes and will make sure they are checked on a regular basis. I am going to replace the blinds as I do not want guests to feel uncomfortable. Regarding the tap. The reason it moves slightly is because the tap is too heavy for the type of sink. It’s actually the sink that moves. I will seek advice on replacing tap for a smaller one. Property Owner

  • "A lovely chalet in a quiet park, very handy for Park & Ride into Dartmouth where there is loads to do and see."

Very comfy beds, good towels, but sofa was too low and soft to sit comfortably. It would be nice to have hooks on the bedroom and bathroom doors for dressing gowns. But we had a very enjoyable time and hope to come back.

Thank you for your feedback. We will be installing hooks in the property and as a result of various feedback including yours we will be replacing the sofa. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Excellent well-equipped, comfortable property at a reasonable price."

I didn't take my internet router having not realized or it wasn't mentioned there was no internet that was annoying but we survived. The electric coin meter is a good system, the more electricity you use more you pay. We'll probably stay again.

Thank you for your feedback. The website states no WiFi but we will make sure it is clearer. The electric meter is unlocked and is paid for by the owner. Coins are supplied in the meter box. Property Owner

  • "Chalet was lovely having all the basics you need plus a few extras."

Towels though enough of them there were small and certainly not bath size. I agree with previous feedback the sofa was low and lacked back support, we banged ourselves on the wooden frame several times. Site was spacious and quiet.

  • "As you arrive at Norton Park its like a throw back in time to the Hi De Hi Holiday camp."

However, once inside Beachcomber its modern, clean and comfortable and provides all you need for a get away break. Norton Park is very quiet and there are no facilities except a prebook pizza delivery on Saturday. so it really is relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay at Beachcomber there were just couple of minor things that prevented me giving a 5 * rating. The property was very neat, clean and well presented. However * the carpark and roadway area was very pot holey and the parking spaces needed remarking * the settee was very low and although comfortable it was difficult to get up off * we did not know about the electric meter in the cupboard, and although a coin was provided the electric did go off causing a power cut * on our first night we report a cracked wine glass via email to Sykes Cottages and have still had no reply over a week later.

Thank you for your comments. We are waiting for the landlord to carry out works on the Park and this includes roads and parking. Unfortunately the timing of this is out of our control. We have had a few comments regarding the sofa and we will be addressing this at the end of the season. Property Owner

Hubby found the smelly plug in air freshener to much for his allergies, however we do appreciate lots if people like the smell.

  • "The place was just perfect, spotlessly clean and spacious enough due to great planning and wise furnishings."

Although it is a simple chalet from the outside built maybe 50 years ago the inside is 100% today with every convenience and surprisingly tastefully decorated. We spent a week there and it was far more than a base - we genuinely enjoyed returning to our 'home from home' after exploring the area. We only cooked breakfast (when we chose to) a bonus instead of rising to eat at hotel time tables If you are considering booking this chalet it's on a site with over 100 others all the same - some in great condition and some unloved.. this is one that is very much well loved

Thank you for such a wonderful review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Norton Park and for the kind comments about our chalet. Property Owner

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
