  • "We enjoyed our week in this lovely, well renovated, quirky cottage in Roadwater, a pretty village with friendly locals, a good shop and pub and excellent and varied local walks."

The cottage's river room is especially fab, with outdoor seating for warm weather if you are lucky enough! We would highly recommend this cottage as a place to stay, but perhaps more so for warm rather than very cold weather due to the hot water and heating issues we had: We arrived in a cold snap in March and the house was really quite cold; we think it was probably empty the week before our stay there and it took the electric wall and portable oil heaters well over 24 hours to get the place feeling warm enough. Luckily the log fire in the kitchen was great so we hunkered down in there. Also, the hot water system seemed inadequate to us for the size of the cottage; even after changing the settings for the water to come on for a good amount of time each day there still wasn't enough hot water to have a bath, but there is a good electric shower. In summary though, we had a super time and would be very happy to stay there again.
