  • "Stay away this property is a 0!"

It was filthy, stank of fag smoke, bed linen had holes in and maintenance of the place was poor. It’s falsely advertised as there is no sea view whatsoever and it now says not suitable for children yet I was allowed to book with a young child! We had an awful week and was forced to leave early! Please don’t waste your money!

Thanks for your feedback. The day before the guest's arrival, I spent approximately 4 hours cleaning the chalet, as it had not been in use since the Easter Break. As for smelling of cigarette smoke this is not true, it is illegal to smoke in commercial premises, the ashtrays are there in case anyone decides to break these rules, and to keep the place safe. There is a sea view from one bedroom, but this view can be restricted when trees are in full leaf. The front of the main house where there is seating enjoys unrivalled sea views of Lynmouth where guests can sit and enjoy the views. It does seem strange that a guest's idea of cutting their holiday short was to leave 1 day early after 6 days, after having such an unhappy experience here at Clooneavin. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay, the Clooneavin Chalet is in a lovely location with beautiful views over the river and sea and of course Lynmouth itself, we had everything we needed and Wi-Fi was no problem as there were plenty of places in the town we could use for this."

The chalet was very central to either Lynmouth or Lynton a home away from home, our host Gill was really welcoming and attentive we felt nothing was too much trouble. We would stay again if ever back that way.

  • "The property is nice and has a nice view of Watersmeet, the sea view you see in the photo's are taken from in front of the big house or the carpark not the chalet, but we dis enjoy our stay foe the most part, I think there are just a few things that need to be thought about."

For instance, i have never been anywhere (costing more that £400 for the same week until now) that does not hava a small bottle of milk, teabags, cofee and sugar waiting so you can at least have a drink once you arrive. Espescially after a very long journey like we had. There was not even a folder that tells you where the bin waste is to go or where to leave the key on the day you leave, and other usefull numbers like a vets if you have taken a pet, or where the nearest hospital or medical center is. There is a private pathway down into Lynmouth which has benches at certain points for you to take a rest if needed (I needed} which again if a little thought had been placed would be lovley. One of the benches would have a beautiful view of the coastline if it was turned to face that way and the bush next to it was cut to just below the fence level. The same could be said about a couple of trees that could be cut down to balcony level of the chalet to also give a sea view from what i could tell. Athough it does have off road parking we felt we could not be out too late if we went out in the car as didn't want to get back and not be able to park, we felt like where a couple of the parking bays were that if i had parked in them the car would be in the way of someone staying in the apartments trying to get out the next day. I hope this feedback is taken in the manner it is given as creative, so you could possibly improve the saty of others.

    It was a good choice.
