  • "Really lovely property inside, clean and tidy and kitchen was properly stocked with everything we needed."

Comfort only downgraded because we were 5 adults and the bunks in Bed. 3 were not suited to her tall frame! Parking could be a slight issue but we always found somewhere during our 3 nights for our 3 vans. Beautiful sunset view out the back! Bathrooms slightly dated but having one upstairs and one downstairs made our lives easier (both have showers) Very convenient for all the local beaches and Kingsbridge too. We would definitely come back!

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay."

Lovely home which the owners have made very comfortable. A nice terrace and garden furniture to sit and enjoy the beautiful view. Well equipped kitchen. Books, games, Netflix useful for rainy days. Good location for Salcombe, Kingsbridge, coastal path, Bolberry Down, and many beautiful beaches such as South Milton Sands. Garage with very well stocked shop in the village. Ashby’s shop (sells absolutely everything), Farmshop and cafe also just up the road. Just a couple of gripes. The touch panel hob needed a lot of pressure to respond. The shower upstairs only properly worked on eco but water pressure not very effective.

  • "Our third stay at this house."

We like it because of the location, handy for Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Hope Cove, Thurlestone, with good bus service. The house is comfortable and clean with a pleasant outlook from the terrace. Even though the area is quite densely populated, it is quiet and the neighbours seem friendly. Malborough is a pleasant village with a well stocked convenience store.

  • "Please let the owners know that it was such a pleasure to find a house that was so fully equipped."

There was actually salt and pepper and tea bag and sugar. It is these little touches that make such a difference. The bedding and beds were also of much higher quality than I am used to via Sykes cottages. I have stayed in numerous properties in Salcombe for over 10 years and the beds and bedding is ALWAYS a huge disappointment. Not so for 164 Cumber Close. Well done and thank you !!

  • "Our second stay at this property, which is tidy, comfortable and well equipped."

There is a very nice outlook from the front decking. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly with useful parking for one car. Malborough is well situated to explore the South Hams and there is a regular bus service into Salcombe or Kingsbridge or further afield if you want.

  • "We had a lovely week staying at 164 Cumber Close it was very comfortable and great for family holidays and near to many beautiful beaches and lovely coastal walks."

The only thing we would have like was an ironing board we found the iron was it hiding somewhere? Also I did all the recycling the Friday morning before I left and unfortunately the previous occupant had put lots of things tin cans etc loose into big recycling bin which took me a while to sort which was annoying!! Also couldn’t find bags for the bedding and towels to be put in so used white very thin ones? Apart from that very happy thank you.

  • "Lovely property."

Perfect for where we had other family staying close by. Would have been 5 stars had it not been for receiving a phone call 2 days before our booking advising the downstairs loo was out of action for our entire stay. We were there with a toddler and my mother who suffers from IBS so two loos was important for us when booking. We had thought that for £1,068 for 2 nights, this issue would have been resolved quickly. It wasn’t. When I contact Sykes asking for some sort of compensation for the extortionate price we paid to lack facilities, they advised nothing could be done. A shame considering we used Sykes a few times for the bank holiday weekend and won’t be again.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that the second toilet was not working for your stay, however when we called you to make you aware of the situation, your were happy to go ahead with the booking. It was only on your arrival that you expressed your disappointment and unfortunately with it being the bank holiday we could not source an emergency contractor. We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused and do hope you had a lovely bank holiday and enjoyed all the area has to offer. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house with amazing views and easy access to stunning coast and glorious countryside."

For 5 adults the living/dining accommodation was a bit of a squeeze and difficult to relax in during the evenings . The sofa is not very comfortable and the three other chairs are positively uncomfortable. The terrace was delightful from morning to late in the evening and we were lucky to have gorgeous weather too which made our stay very special. Thanks.

  • "The location was excellent with fantastic views out over Bolberry Down."

The house was great although would’ve been a bit a squeeze for 6 adults, but as there were only eventually 4 of us it was ok. The facilities were fine, apart from the several very confusing messages about recycling, which was not clear at all. I would draw to others attention that the parking is extremely tight for more than 1 car. The close where the house is situated, was built with just a garage per house or bungalow and no more parking, therefore there are cars parked all along the road on both sides. However if you only have one car you can park in front of the garage.

  • "This property was absolutely perfect for our break."

It was very comfortable and clean. A real home from home. The view from the terrace is stunning and a real sun trap. Will definitely go again and would recommend to others. A perfect base for Salcombe, Dartmouth and surrounding areas.

  • "Lovely little holiday home."

Very clean, a lot bigger than expected. Close to nearby sea side towns. Little extras such as tea & coffee was appreciated. Beautiful views.

  • "The cottage is lovely and clean and well presented."

Parking can be a little awkward but easily overcome. The property desperately needs a green commercial recycling bin as the recycling requirements for south-hams are simply not feasible for transient accommodation. We have to drive around two towns and three bottle stations to find somewhere to dispose of our bottle. Instructions need to be much more clear too. Most people won’t be used to these requirements. Otherwise the property was great and spacious and airy and very well presented. We’d happily return.

  • "We had a brilliant holiday staying at 164 cumber close."

The house was spacious, light, comfortable & very well equipped. The beds were all very comfortable & made with high quality bedding to match many hotels. The location was easy to find & very accessible to Salcombe & all the gorgeous beaches in the area. The house was clean & tidy on our arrival with the exception of some cobwebs in most rooms, hence the markdown on cleanliness. The only other small niggle was the shrubs at the entrance to the house & on the patio that are rather overgrown & could do with trimming to increase the space for sitting around the patio table & to improve access to the entrance at the rear of the house.
