  • "The Hayloft is the most perfect place to stay."

Beautifully presented, well equipped, ideal location and with friendly and extremely helpful owners. We had our 15 month grandson with us and Astrid and Peter kindly provided a high chair, travel cot, a stair-gate and a Brio train set! We had a wonderful family weekend and definitely hope to return.

It was even more spacious than we expected and very well equipped. There were plenty of toys for the kids (which they loved) and lots of useful kitchen equipment that you don't always find in a cottage rental. We like to cook on holiday so found this very useful. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The location of the cottage was also fantastic, right next to the wood, lovely pub nearby (The Kestor) and we did a walk to Lustleigh which was wonderful (The Cleave was brilliant and in idyllic setting). Astrid was very welcoming and nothing was any trouble, I would recommend this cottage to anyone whether it is a group of friends or a family. Dartmoor is a very beautiful area, some of the moorland is impressively vast and bare but there are also lush woodlands (right from the door!) and the Tors nearby are a definite must to visit, especially Hounds Tor. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Property was really well placed for walks straight from the door into lovely countryside and forest. A unique and characterful space, at the same time as being modern and with all facilities. We appreciated three en suite bathrooms and we appreciated being able to bring three doggies. That made a big difference for us. The property is in a stunning location, so very quiet, with lots of brilliant walks on the doorstep. There's a pub just 5 minutes away where we received a warm welcome and enjoyed a great Sunday roast! The Hayloft is really well equipped, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. We lit the log burner every evening with logs generously provided by the owner. We were a party of 4 adults and one dog and the layout was just brilliant, all on one floor, so sociable whether we were cooking, reading or chilling out watching a film on the smart TV. Each of the 3 bedrooms were en-suite (one with a lovely bath and the other two with showers). The only suggestions we would like to make (as we like to stay home and cook from time to time) would be for a large non-stick frying pan with a lid which can be used for so many dishes plus a couple of different size options on casserole dishes, that's all!! The views of the surrounding countryside are beautiful. We will definitely be returning next year!
