The property

Mark 1 mile.

A delightful barn conversion, attached to the owner's home, close to the village of Mark, five miles from the seaside resort of Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset.

Set in a tranquil, rural position, this superb property is in an ideal location for friends or family to enjoy walking, cycling or birdwatching in the Somerset countryside.

Tastefully furnished and beautifully appointed throughout, the cottage has a spacious open plan beamed living area with comfy sofas overlooking the garden to the fields beyond.

The well-equipped kitchen and dining area are perfect for enjoying a home-cooked meal, if you prefer not to sample the tasty local fare in the village pubs.

Step through from the living area to the rear of the cottage, where you will find two beamed bedrooms and the bathroom and utility rooms.

The main bedroom has a comfy king-size bed and a wall-mounted TV, while the second bedroom has two snug single beds.

On warm afternoons you can relax on the flower-filled patio and enjoy a drink, whilst looking out over the lawned gardens.

Stroll down to the front gate, and you may see swans nesting on the stream, which flows alongside the lane.

As well as being ideally placed to explore the Somerset countryside, this lovely cottage is perfectly located for the many attractions nearby such as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Wells Cathedral and the sandy beaches at Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea.

The festival at Glastonbury and the winter carnivals at Bridgwater, together with the surrounding towns and villages, are all reasons to stay.

If you need some retail therapy, then the vibrant cities of Bristol and Bath are both an easy drive.

A charming cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of the year.

MARK

Burnham-on-Sea 5 miles; Glastonbury 11 miles.

The pretty village of Mark is situated in the heart of the beautiful Somerset Levels, and is criss-crossed by long watery rhynes, which drain the wetlands for pasture, aiding the production of fine Somerset cheese. The village boasts an ancient church, built in honour of St Mark, as well as excellent walking and cycle paths, and a variety of rare species of birds, making it a haven for twitchers! Situated at the mouth of the River Parrett and Bridgewater Bay, the popular seaside resort of Burnham-on-Sea is just 4 miles away. With views across to distant Wales, and 7 miles of sandy beaches and dunes, the town also boasts Britain's shortest pier and some of the most distinctive lighthouses around, as well as the marble carvings of Sir Christopher Wren in its parish church. The Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Weston-super-Mare, ancient Glastonbury and the cathedral city of Wells are all within easy driving distance. A fantastic location for a varied holiday at any time of the year.
