"Lovely cottage, although my wife is disabled and had great difficulty getting up and down the large step from lounge to bedroom."
However everywhere was comfy and well equipped, and we enjoyed our stay.
-
"It was a lovely quirky property, nice peaceful surroundings."
Loved the picnic area with views over the fields.

"The Byre surpasses expectations, it is both secluded, whilst also being situated in an area that enables you to explore not only North Devon but all areas of the County."
This gives you a base to explore from that is relaxing and has all the modern comforts you need. The owners are friendly and caring, this is evident in the way the Cottage is set out and a lovely cake and Tea is there upon your arrival. The Village of Monkleigh can be reached on foot where we recommend the Bell Inn pub for Meals. A Beach almost 3 miles long can be reached in about 15 minutes at Westward Ho! We loved the Byre and have had a fabulous holiday there.

"Centrally situated for days out, lovely owner who was oh so helpful when needed, all went like a relaxing holiday should go."
Soft towels, kitchen well equipped and the oven looked like new. We have already booked another holiday with Sykes

"A beautiful cob walled cottage in a very peaceful location."
The cottage is exactly as described in the online Sykes details, it’s full of character, interesting pieces art, antiques, books etc. Scrupulously clean and well maintained, there is an excellent range of modern/new equipment to facilitate a self-catering stay, a beautiful bathroom, comfortable lounge and nicely fitted quality kitchen. With a comfy bed, outdoor seating and lovely views towards Torrington, it’s an ideal place for a relaxing break away from it all, definitely a place we’d like to return to one day.

"We had a lovely time, a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings, all credit to the owners and their work staff, cleaners, gardeners and grounds staff etc."
, if I had to say something negative maybe it would be to upgrade the t.v. to a smart t.v. and perhaps have a tumble dryer, other than that, beautiful.

Everything there we needed. Really helpful host. Beautiful surroundings too.
-
"A beautiful location the Byre-itself was very comfortable and the facilities within were excellent would highly recommend this property."
The owners were very welcoming.
-
"Can I buy the cottage it was lovely"
-
"The only thing I could criticise would be the temperature in the cottage, especially in late afternoon and evening."
Around 18 or 19 degrees, felt distinctly chilly. Otherwise the cottage and surrounding countryside were a delight.
Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased you found the Byre to be a delight. The temperature in our cobb cottage is operated on a timer both morning and night and is very well insulated. We hope you will visit again. Property Owner

"We had a lovely weeks stay in 'The Byre'."
Tucked away down a country lane, it was a perfect place to step away and take a break with lots of walking opportunities on the doorstep. It was, however, also close enough to local amenities and tourist attractions and we would highly recommend the local pub -The Bell Inn - for Sunday Lunch or a meal out. If wanting to cook, the amenities were great and there is a supermarket just a short drive away. We would highly recommend this and wouldn't hesitate in going back.
