"We had a lovely stay."
Lovely property which was close to beaches and walks, clean and a great welcome hamper. The only issue we had was the driveway! It was very steep and difficult to turn into from the main road as you had to reverse down. Ww drive an x-trail so quite big, but if you have a smaller car it would be easier. A long car also might be tricky. But would definitely recommend this property.

"Overall the property was great and had everything we needed."
It was clean, tidy and nicely planned out. We were greeted with some local goodies which was a nice touch. I’d suggest more towels would be useful for a 7 day break and also more toilet roll if possible. We only had some small issues, however these wouldn’t stop us coming back. We couldn’t get the TV or fire-stick to work as it wouldn’t connect to the wifi - luckily we bought our own fire-stick and that worked fine. The sofa is pretty uncomfortable as it’s quite worn down now. The bed is also uncomfortable as it’s a very hard mattress - though some people would like that. Also, we did put the bin out as suggested in the manual, but the rubbish wasn’t collected.

"Lovely clean property, had everything you might need."
Tricky driveway, but got used to it. Would stay again. Handy for a lot of beaches, places of interest.

"I had a wonderful stay at Abode with my dog."
It was clean and cosy and the welcome pack added a lovely touch. It would be helpful to point out the switch for the water heater and the shower as these didn't seem obvious at first glance. The location was great as it was quiet and felt secluded at the bottom of the long driveway. The Trinity Hill nature reserve (a short drive away) was perfect for dog walking and it was lovely to be able to drive into Lyme Regis within 10 minutes. I would absolutely recommend this place for a cosy stay.

"Property was good."
Lovely spacious bedroom and ensuite with a comfy bed. Living room area was cosy and comfortable too and the kitchen was packed with all things needed which was fab plus dog bowls and a welcome pack which was a nice touch. The outside areas could be improved with more comfortable sun chair and a parasol. We wouldn't use Sykes again as felt we had paid 'over the odds' for this property as we had booked in the New Year at a more expensive rate.

"It’s a lovely place with everything you need for a comfortable stay."
Great kitchen facilities & gorgeous bedroom. The weather was great so maybe an outside umbrella would be nice so you could sit out on the patio in the shade? The 4 outside cameras were a little disconcerting as I felt I was being watched every time I was outside. I stayed nearly 3 weeks in the end & thought there may have been a clean at some point? Loo roll top up? Also just for owners info when I arrived the clean was a just a skim over - dust, cobwebs on floor behind curtains, in corners, fingerprints on kitchen cabinets, dust on microwave top. Also it was a nightmare trying to extend my stay as Skyes never returned any call backs despite me chasing them over 3 days. In the end I had to rebook online. Not a reflection on the accommodation at all though.

"More than two bath towels for a weeks stay would have been better they also were not very thick."
Also we put the bin out as requested and it wasn’t emptied so by the time we left it was almost full because it already had rubbish in it. Also you have to be careful at the top of the driveway as it is low and you can catch the underneath of your vehicle we have a mini cooper

"Just back from Abode the property is as shown it’s very clean with all good appliances."
There was a nice cover for the settee for the dog to sit on.The property is in the ideal position for coast visits and Axminster is worth a visit. Didn’t have any problems with parking the car

"Just arrived back from a superb few days in this beautiful cottage."
The facilities were amazing and there was nothing that this cottage didn’t have and was lovely and clean . Nice touch of a welcome pack with coffee, fudge, tea bags and biscuits and a great touch. Nice touch of having a light by the front door that went on when you arrived which was really helpful. We bought our dog Hugo and there was already a cover on the sofa which kept muddy pawls to a minimum. We drive a fairly large car and the turn at the bottom is quite tight but manageable and never had any issues. I would like to thank our hosts on making our stay very special (despite the awful weather) and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Steve

"A stunning property which we definitely hope to return to."

"The property itself is very nice and perfect for getting around Dorset and East Devon."
However the driveway is not suitable for some cars. I have a regulatory car, 2013 Audi A6. The dropped curb has clearly been damaged previously. The only car parking space is down the driveway. However the dropped curb smashed the chassis and bumper of my car immediately. I provided picture and literal video evidence of the event. However according to Sykes Cottages, as the owner denied any wrong doing (of course they would), there is nothing to be done. This isn’t a suitable customer complaint procedure for a property that is not suitable for some cars. Stating, it’s the first complaint they’ve had is irrelevant, someone always has to be the first.
The driveway is shared with another property, and the owners have not experienced any issues with accessing the driveway, neither have third party suppliers and other guests. We are sorry to hear of the damage to your vehicle and understand the property owner is contacting you directly regarding the matter. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"The property was clean and well equipped."
Thank you for the welcome pack which was very nice. The rubbish collection was abysmal, there was no provision for recycling and although we put the bin out on the allocated day, it was not collected, despite two phone calls to Lyme Bay Holidays who manage the property.
Thank you for your comments regarding the rubbish. We will review the instructions given to guests regarding the location of the bin for collection. We hope you enjoyed your stay. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Had to ring as bins weren’t emptied, but someone did come out and take a bit away Key safe is in an awkward position, especially if your short !"

"The property was excellent and very clean & ideally situated to explore the Devon coast & countryside."
The facilities within the property has far exceeded other places we have stayed at. I gave a Four for the accuracy of the property as it didn't state that the premises were gated anywhere preventing dogs to wander & that the garden area is very small.
It's wonderful to have such lovely comments; we're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Pros: great set up for two people."
We liked the open plan. Bright, well lit, loved the skylights. Overall, modern conveniences and finishes of high quality. Cons: bumpy start with missing patio door keys, no sharp knives and no hair dryer. Took a couple of days to contact anyone who could help but once we did, with the exception of the keys, it was sorted within the hour. Keys took another couple of days to find. Suggestions: instructions on how to use the dishwasher and oven. A mirror at the end of the driveway to help get in and out. We had a mini, so not necessary to back in which we felt would be far more difficult.
We are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday, and apologies once again that we didn't have all of the keys to the patio doors. Your feedback is very helpful! The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner
