"Honest review."
Booked via Sykes. When we arrived we were so disappointed with our initial chalet (37). The state of repairs were awful and it did not feel like a holiday home at all. In our opinion this chalet should not be let out until it is refurbished. As we arrived so late we were not able to speak to anyone until the morning. After speaking with reception and accommodation staff the following morning, who were very understanding, this was amicably resolved. We were offered an alternative chalet after the weekend. With it being a bank holiday all other accommodation was fully booked, but we were happy to wait until the Monday. Our second chalet (33) was such an improvement, & what we originally expected to have from the start. It was simple, modern & had all essentials needed. The sofa and chairs in living area were not very comfortable but this wasn’t a huge issue as we were out most of the day. Beds were very comfortable. Shower temperature and pressure were great. Both chalets were very clean & we could not fault the cleaning staff. Park is well maintained. The park pool was lovely. We didn’t use the bar so can’t comment on that. We are so happy that our issue was resolved, which meant our holiday was such a different experience, and therefore leaving a very different review. We felt it was good value for money. We have already booked to return next year (& have make sure we booked a newer chalet!). The location is beautiful, set in a peaceful area of brixham very close to berry head. Ideal for coastal walks & Brixham town is also within walking distance (30mins). Other reviews complaining that it’s not a holiday park, but if you want a typical ‘holiday park’ with kids entertainment and a ‘pub’ this isn’t for you. Although if you want a peaceful break in beautiful surroundings I would definitely recommend. Tip: -Bring tea towels, washing up liquid, a bath mat and bath towels -Fridge is on the small side so don’t arrive with too much food!

"We booked the property thinking we would have use of the facilities for the ..."
We booked the property thinking we would have use of the facilities for the whole week, the pool wasn’t available neither was the club house during the week, these were one of the reasons for booking, yes we could use the sister site which was a mile away, having to travel to these most days was an inconvenience as my grandchildren are austic and could not be left to walk that far on their own, the club house, we were informed that closure was a recent issue and not when we booked which wasn’t acceptable as you advertised these in good faith The round bucket chair and the sofa were extremely uncomfortable and noisy, the fridge didnt seem to be working correctly as nothing was chilled despite being pat tested in recent months, the chalet was clean and basic, we did enjoy the time spent in Brixham

"Basic and functional."
What was to be expected. Cooked at chalet twice but disappointed at lack of utensils etc. no tongs and would have lined a tea towel and certainly some oven gloves. Using a wetted j cloth was not ideal!

"The chalet was basic, clean and tidy."
The location is good - just a 25 minute walk into Brixham. We had no TV or internet for 5 days along with other chalet holiday makers. I was disappointed with this and the lack of action to fix the problem.

"On the whole the property was satisfactory to good."
Nothing major apart from needing some updating to the cooker and shower. It had everything we needed and extra bedding was great. Kitchen was well equipped and the information provided was excellent.Perfect for the dog. An enjoyable stay and would happily return.

BRIXHAM
Dartmouth 5 miles; Paignton 6 miles; Torquay 8 miles.
Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
