  • "Toad Hall was perfect for my parents as had two lovely bedrooms on the ground floor."

Loved the open plan living area, the well equipped kitchen and sun room. Toad hall was lovely and warm and everything provided to ensure a great stay. Overall we were happy with the accommodation but it’s obvious that not as much care is being taken since it’s been sold I.e. the blankets and throws were smelly and definitely not clean. The shower trays were like a skating rink when wet but only one shower mat provided. The towels smelled like they’d been washed with dog towels. Toys etc found under the sofa. We won’t get the chance but we would have stayed again !

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Toad Hall."

...however there were a few issues with cleanliness & beds/garden. The shower heads & rail were extremely dusty. The fridge under breakfast counter dirty & a cupboard. No place to put own food. Beds upstairs were a struggle for older people in our group, far too low & could be raised higher. The lock on the downstairs first toilet/ shower room was a problem with getting locked in. Garden needed a good weed. This did not in anyway spoil our time at Toad Hall & we also saw Mr. Toad. We would def return if we were wanting to stay around that area again. There is room for improvement.

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Toad Hall."

Thank you for making us welcome. Being able to have just a short walk to the village was such a bonus and cutting through the Churchyard was a pleasant extra. Friendly locals, well stocked Post Office and excellent pub food at the Dolphin enhanced our stay here (especially Sunday lunch) and a drink overlooking the river. The cottage is equipped with everything you might need and a ideal place to relax. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the Garden Room. Plenty of outings to enjoy in South Devon within easy reach. We recommend! We only dropped a star as the book information wasnt up to date leading us to confusion over putting out the bins/recycling. Had to use the council website for that information.

We would highly recommend staying here. The house itself is spacious, well furnished and clean. The only point I would make is that the courtyard could do with a clean up to clear weeds etc, however apart from that, the courtyard is a lovely place to sit and relax in the sunshine. Great for dogs too as it is totally secure.

A beautiful property in a lovely little village - scenery is amazing, walks along the harbour are lovely, and everybody is incredibly friendly. The cottage had everything you could possibly need. Really clean and tidy. Loads of great information about local amenities, walks, etc in their folder. Bottle of fizz, dishwasher tablets and coffee pods in the welcome pack! We had an amazing week and would definitely go back there again in a heartbeat.

We did lots of walking from the house including the coastal path via Noss Mayo. The house was modern, clean and well equipped and the fire was a lovely surprise as there are no photos of it on the website. I needed to work from the house for a couple of days and although there is a desk in the 4th bedroom upstairs there is no WiFi. Apart from that it was a perfect break.
