"This was a great retreat and was so nice and peaceful, the hosts were the best just like staying with friends but totally private if you want ."
Hot tub is perfect after a day out . Nice to have some supplies waiting and proper kitchen equipment. The lanes are small but never met any other traffic so not a problem and only a few minutes away from civilisation for shopping
Thank you simon for your great review. We really enjoyed speaking to you both and are so pleased you loved our Mill. Hope to see you again Paul and Julia Property Owner

"The property was lovely clean and tidy."
Lovely welcome and tour round when we got there by the owner. It is a remote site and the roads are narrow leading there, but once you are there it is well worth the drive. The property is well kitted out with everything you need, and the hot tub is great. There are a few steps leading to the property and down to the bedrooms but no issue. We had a fantastic week there, and would definitely go back.
Thank you Martin, kind words. We enjoyed you staying and are pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Hope to see you again. Paul and Julia Property Owner

"We had a lovely 2 weeks at the cottage with our teenage daughters."
I thought 2 weeks might be too long but we all had a great time at the cottage and local villages and beaches. The cottage was a great base and has everything you need, enjoyed the beautiful views from the top floor and hot tub. The Wi-Fi was very good thanks to starlink which was great. Thanks to Julia and Paul for all the friendly help, advice and service, lovely people.
Thank you Jason and Sarah, what a lovely family you were to share our surroundings. Thank you for your lovely comments. Hope to see you all again in the future. X Property Owner

"Fantastic place and wonderful owners."
Nothing was too much trouble for them and we had a wonderful week. The view from the terrace and the lounge is incredible and the hot tub was the best one we have used at any rental property. If you want peace and quiet then is the ideal property Steve and Pauline

"This is a lovely property with attentive owners who are on site if you have any queries."
We were lucky enough to have lovely weather so made use of the hot tub which is heated and ready use at any time. The outside areas have all you need for a relaxing stay including table chairs parasols recliners and gas BBQ. The owners left us some goodies in the fridge including cheese and fresh apple juice. It was lovely to look out on the fields and see the cows chickens and pheasants. Totally recommend this holiday home.

The house and grounds were perfect. The small ménage of animals were great, I got to cuddle one of the super funny and chatty chickens. The hot tub was super relaxing. Julia and Paul were amazing hosts. When they found out it was my birthday they gave me a lovely bottle of Prosecco. Hope to be back soon.

Nice touch was the milk, butter, cheese, biscuits and locally made apple juice left in the kitchen Lovely comfy beds and pitch black rooms at night which we like. Absolutely loved our stay all you can hear is birds in the trees, the stream and the owners Paul and Julia’s chickens, absolute bliss. Its location is great 15 minutes drive to bideford or Westwood Ho. Paul and Julia are fantastic hosts nothing was to much trouble. 100% we will be returning here.

"We absolutely loved this place!"
In a stunning, peaceful location with a fully equipped kitchen. Had everything we needed. We all loved the hot tub. We hope to come back one day. My children (13 & 9) would have preferred separate beds, rather than having to share a double and would have liked a bigger TV in the family room :-)
Hi Lisa, so pleased you loved our Mill and hot tub. Hope to see you all again. Julia Property Owner

"What a fabulous house!"
We enjoyed our break very much. The house was very spacious, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Julia and Paul were great hosts. Friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It was very hard to leave the view and the hot tub behind on our last day. Our favourite holiday home yet. We will be back!
Nicky and Neil thank you for loving our holiday home, we do too. You had a great relaxing stay and we’re great guests, and we would love to see you both and Alfie again. Xx Property Owner

"We had a severe fly infestation and needed to spray fly spray all the time, wasn’t pleasant to come back to a bedroom full of flys and have to de fumigate 3 times a day."
The house was so hot on arrival and was told to keep windows shut by Julia because flies get in. Paul and Julia did open the windows and put netting over but flies seemed to be coming from bedroom. Once house was cooler, there did not seem to be many flies. They said there had never been a fly issue before. Apart from that 2 very lovely hosts and a lovely home to rent . It is in the middle of nowhere so be mindful of that. Internet strength was at times poor and unable to watch Netflix for example. Very welcoming hosts.
Hi Amanda, really pleased that you and Mark found the Mill a lovely home. Thankfully the couple of days of thunder and lightening and very hot weather settled down which also fixed your issues which were out of our control. Also, for your comments on how well you both slept during the week, and we would be pleased to welcome you to our Mill again. Property Owner

"We would highly recommend staying at Monkleigh Hill!"
We were received by Julia who gave us a walk around the place. Julia was a wonderful and very helpful host. The house was very clean, tidy and homely. The hot tub was wonderful and perfect for star gazing at night. We really enjoyed our stay and is a perfect place whether it’s rainy or sunny.
Thank you Hani, you were all lovely guests and we hope you will come again. Property Owner

"We enjoyed our stay at the Mill immensely."
Wonderful hosts and great facilities! The house is so interesting and we love the open plan kitchen dining. Upstairs shows off a lovely view of the surrounding fields and the hot tub is a wonderful bonus. Good location with lots of little villages around with Cafes and restaurants
Lovely couples and very friendly. Thank you for your comments and hope to see you all again. Property Owner

"Superb property, Set amongst, and located in a very peaceful and relaxing area, as one would generally expect in this part of Devon !"
With plenty of Wildlife !! Finding the location is somewhat more difficult, My Car SAT NAV. navigated us directlly there, through somewhat very narrow hedgerow lanes However, you wouldn`t really know you`d arrived, because the Property has no Name plate or inscription, we continued to the next village and spent another hour or so eventually arriving at `Monkleigh Mill`. Unfortunately we didn`t get to meet The owners, Julia & Paul, who were away on Holiday themselves they had provided written directions directions ariving from the East M5/A39 but we discovered far better easier access to the property the next day ! This is not a critism! just a little informative feedback.
Hi Stephen, thank you for your kind review. Wonderful that you found our Mill superb. We have now a name plate on our porch to ensure guests know they have arrived! Hopefully we will meet if you come again to stay in the Mill. X Julia and Paul Property Owner

"Julia and Paul very friendly and helpful."
Appreciated Paul's offer of a lift to and from the local pub. Excellent kitchen facilities, and bedrooms being on the ground floor were pleasantly cool and comfortable. No TV remote in one of the bedrooms, although not a problem for us. Sofas in the sitting area were not very comfortable. We enjoyed the patio area and barbecue and appreciated the silence of the location.
Lovely people, and left our Mill beautifully clean and tidy. Hope to see you again. Property Owner
