  • "Excellent location, the house is massive and I really enjoyed our stay."

When we arrived at the property, the dishwasher was actually blocked but the owner kindly arranged for it to be fixed immediately when which great. Overall, we loved it. The kids loved the hot tub as well!

  • "The place is amazing with top rated fittings in the kitchen and bathrooms."

Plenty of space for 10 people. We were in the downstairs bedroom where the bed was extremely comfortable with lovely soft bedding. The curtains kept out the light which meant we weren't woken up early. The towels and robes provided for hot tub use were an unexpected benefit. There was plenty of fridge space for the occupancy and the kitchen was full of useful electrical equipment. We had a great time there and it was good to find somewhere where the whole family of 10, 3 generations, could all get together. A couple of points, the patio and bbq were close to next door and when we used the bbq the smoke was blown straight into the neighbours windows, which they quickly closed. Also, with the patio being so close to the boundary, it was understandable that the neighbours, who needed to work didn't like the evening conversation from people on holiday keeping them awake, even though we were only talking and not behaving raucously. They would have been better placed on the other side of the garden. Also, as we were in the downstairs bedroom we used the shower room across the hall. This would have benefitted from hooks or towel holders for the hand towel and bath towels and robes. The only place to put clothes and towels was on the toilet seat. There was also no bath mat and we had to use the hand towel on the floor. There was no hairdryer in the property. We didn't take one as I've never been anywhere where one wasn't provided. If you don't want to provide any, you could make it obvious on the web sites that you need to take your own. All in all, a great place and would highly recommend. Pete & Rosie, Claire's parents.

  • "The house was gorgeous however a couple of things let it down: 1."

Spotted in previous feedback, sliding wardrobe doors in x2 bedrooms still broken 2.Although the smoke alarm base is in place on the ceiling, it isn’t working as the main components have been removed 3.Previous Sykes properties we’ve stayed in have provided a folder with various info on using equipment in the property, waste/recycling etc. but couldn’t locate a folder in this one? 4.It would be helpful if hooks could be installed by the hot tub to hang towels/robes. Thanks

  • "Whilst we enjoyed our stayed we do have several niggles that we would like fed back to the owners as I believe they are using a 3rd party (with regard to cleaning & maintenance) and want them to know they are not getting the service they should be expecting."

Also, if these small points don’t get addressed they will become bigger and may not be so easy to rectify, and will also start to cause extremely disgruntled customers. 1 - Kitchen units were not clean, dirty marks where you open and close cupboards, fridges, freezer etc. We wiped them over and our wipes came away dirty. Visible thick dust on low items in bedrooms. 2 - Behind the sofa was filthy, previous guests had dropped crisps and other food stuff behind it. The sofa is off the floor on legs so no real reason why this wasn’t and couldn’t be checked & cleaned. 3 - Table in the dining room is missing bolts so very wobbly and could easily come apart. It’s a very large heavy table so would cause a lot of damage if it breaks. 4- Shower door in king sized bed bedroom at top of stairs is not attached to runners at the bottom, meaning if you push the glass door (easily done with small children) it comes away. 5 - Wardrobe in the same bedroom mentioned above is broken and will not stay on runners thus resulting in us not using it. 6 - Hot tub was not full enough, top level jets when turned on just blasted water out across the top of the water level as water level too low. 7 - Not sure if there is an electrical problem, oven on right when walking into kitchen wasn’t working and the oven on the left tripped all of the electric when we used it. 8 - My partner sustained an electric shock when taking the door keys off of the metal key hook by the front door and was holding on to the metal front door handle at the same time, not sure if the key hook has been drilled into a live wire? 9 - Fire alarm in kitchen had been removed from ceiling a placed in a cupboard. 10 - Only 8 bath towels for a house that holds 10 guests. 11 - Radiator in ground floor bedroom not working properly. The house is beautiful and in a great location but it’s such a shame that it’s not getting maintained properly and some of the maintenance issues are making things unsafe. Please ensure this feedback goes to the owners as they are probably unaware.
