  • "Wonderful property, with everything you could possibly need,a true home from home in a peaceful and quiet setting."

We enjoyed feeding the donkeys and getting to watch the cows being milked,it's a unique property. Very clean and tidy, they have thought of everything, even provided fans and hairdryers, swing ball set and badminton rackets in the garden, which got my kids off their devices and out enjoying themselves, would love to visit again.

  • "What an absolute gem of a place to stay…nestled away in a beautiful part of Somerset and yet only 15-30 minutes drive away from lots of local attractions including Clark’s Village, Glastonbury Tor and RNAS Yeovilton Aircraft Museum…all well worth a visit."

The lodge is perfectly situated with 360 degree panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from every window. The wraparound veranda was a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or read a book in the sunshine. Inside it is like a home-from-home with every appliance (hairdryer, cooling fans, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner and a HUGE Smart TV) and all the kitchen items, crockery, cups, glasses and kitchen utensils that you could possibly need. The WI-Fi has a good strong signal (which delighted my teenagers) but to be honest they spent more time outside playing Swingball and actually talking to each other, than looking at their phones. The lodge was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable and the shower was just amazing! The bedrooms all have ‘blackout’ curtains which means you don’t have to wake up too early if you don’t want to. The owners were friendly and welcoming…the food parcel (milk, bread and some delicious cakes) was a very thoughtful surprise and much appreciated after our long car journey. The peace and quiet was so relaxing and we all slept well despite the heat…yes the Great British Summer did finally arrive this week!

  • "Amazing, Peaceful, and extremely Relaxing ."

The hosts were so wonderful, the family couldn't do enough for you. We had everything we needed in the lodge even the bits we had forgotten. We had stunning views of Somerset from the veranda. The Lodge is decorated to an extremely high standard, the 5 (6 including dog) of us were most comfortable for the 7 day duration. This is a working dairy farm and the hosts are more than happy to allow you to get hands on, such a wonderful experience, one I will personally never forget. I would love to go back for some more R&R.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at The Lodge."

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay. The children loved waking up to Harry and Doris each morning. Phillip and Alison were friendly and on hand in case of problems, which I’m sure if we’d had any would have been sorted very quickly.

Alison and Phillip are great hosts. The lodge was very comfortable and clean. We travelled out most days to different places and it felt like coming back home afterwards. We enjoyed it so much we have planned another break at the lodge next year! A peaceful place to stay in Somerset.

Such a peaceful stay in a great location as it feels quite isolated but town is only 15 mins away! The owners were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our little one enjoyed meeting the donkeys and seeing the animals. A great stay for the NYE period, would definitely come back!

  • "From the moment we arrived, to the time we left we felt at home."

Philip & Alison were so welcoming and kind, nothing was too much trouble. We had 2 donkeys, Harry and Doris who came to say hello every day, our 3 1/2 yr old loved giving them carrots, apples or ginger biscuits. There were 2 cows next to us when we arrived and 3 when we left. A little calf was born on day 4, which was amazing. We got to see the cow herd milked which I loved. Phil is so patient and passionate that he showed us everything. The only downside is we only went for 1 week, so now just working out next years holiday which will be 2 weeks. Thank you

  • "The Lodge is a really special holiday home - the friendly and kind owners are incredibly welcoming and make sure you can engage with the farm."

Harry and Doris (the donkeys) live at the end of the large paddock attached to the Lodge, and love to see you (probably hoping for treats!). We went to see the milking nearly every day, which my 7 year old loved. The view from the deck is beautiful, and there's loads of outdoor space for children to run around and have fun safely. The Lodge itself is comfortable, clean, and well equipped. I highly recommend and wish we could have stayed for longer.

  • "Was an amazing place for a Holiday."

The lodge is in the middle of a working farm but is surrounded by a lawn on every side. The pet donkeys were just a treat to pet and had them hanging around the lodge in their paddock all the time. The owners were very friendly and provided all the needed facilities with a very generous welcome pack . Also went for milking of the cows which was very exciting . Altogether I would certainly recommend the place for a relaxing escape from the city and we would definitely return and go there again. .

then this is it...really lovely friendly owners, on a working farm. They cant do enough for you, and when you arrive, you do so to a beautiful clean welcoming home for your stay.....we were so impressed, that the next day after our return back home to Warwick, that we rebooked the lodge the very next day for another weeks holiday later on. So looking forward to it again. Bobby and Theresa.
