  • "Wonderful time spent here."

It gave us a true sense of being in a home rather than being in a holiday house. The hosts were lovely and could not do enough for us. The grandchildren loved there time here, both inside the house and exploring outside. Ideal location to explore Devon with all our family and their young ones.

We are delighted you all enjoyed yourselves here at Parnacott. With its large lawned area and loads of welcoming space it really does lend itself to all three generations having lots of fun indoors and out, and creating many happy holiday memories. Being an easy 8 miles from the coast with access to many sandy beaches Parnacott is indeed ideally located. A big thank you from all of us on the Cleaning Team f or having left the old place in very good order. We wish you all the best for the rest of the summer and do hope you will be back next year! We couldn’t have picked a better place for our 70th birthday celebrations

Thank you Deidre and Tony for leaving the house in such good order, your lovely comments in our visitors' book and the present of a hydrangea - so generous. It was great to met you all, and your gorgeous dogs, and to know how much you enjoyed your holiday at Parnacott. Thank you for having chosen us as the place to celebrate your two 70th birthdays! We look forward to welcoming you back. Enjoy the rest of the summer and all the very best. Property Owner

  • "Owners were lovely."

The house was great but it felt cluttered and with lots of items that were untouchable, it was like living in a museum for a week. But I would still highly recommend staying in this beautiful house

Thank you, Andrew. I do understand what you are saying and thank you for recommending us. We are sorry you didn't feel comfortable. It is an old house, our family home, with its own distinct character. Inevitably, it is not going to appeal to everyone. We are concerned that cleanliness didn't get the usual 100%. We are glad you enjoyed the gardens and the local area. Thank you for your very lovely comments in our Visitors' Book! We wish you all the very best for the future. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful house and grounds with lots of history."

It fit our party of 12 comfortably. The grounds were full of wildlife and perfect for walking our dog around. House has various rooms to relax and unwind. The kitchen has everything you need. The bedrooms are spacious nicely decorated in a vintage style. Central heating and water pressure was great throughout the house. There was a barn full of outdoor games which we made use of on the large front lawn. The hot tub was a nice treat. Shops are nearby. Bude and other coastal areas are just a short drive away. And Exmoor Zoo is further but still possible as a daytrip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thank you, Vicky. We are delighted you all enjoyed yourselves here. Wilfie got a real kick out of meeting your lovely little dog, Maggie! The evenings were a little chilly for June but the central heating kept you all cosy - and you got to see the roses coming into full flower. We look forward to welcoming you back! Very best wishes and enjoy the summer, John, Rondi, Richard and Anna. Property Owner

We were so pleased with the 'home from home' feeling of comfort that the property offered and the spacious environment that held something for everyone - from the feeling of nature on your doorstep, a plethora of books all around and the table tennis set up in the barn. The teenagers in the family thoroughly enjoyed organising a tournament and 'thrashing' their elders! Thank you John and Rhondi for a lovely stay.

Erin and family - we loved meeting you all and are so delighted you had a brilliant week. it was good to talk and share enthusiasms. You certainly made the most of your week here and wild swimming on Dartmoor's rivers was extremely adventurous! That's definitely a first for anyone choosing Parnacott for their holiday home.. We would love to welcome you back next year. You could explore Bodmin moor! Very best wishes, John & Rondi Property Owner

The gardens are incredible and spacious. We had an amazing time, 12 of us and we never felt cramped. • "We all had such a wonderful time."

A family get together was made so special by the facilities at Parnacott. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. They were on hand if needed and were so generous and thoughtful leaving little flowers for our celebratory meal in the dining room a welcome pack and some chocolates for a special birthday, for which we had hired a chef. The table tennis and lawn games were a great hit with everyone. Thank you Parnacott for bringing us altogether from various countries and different areas of the country. The proximity of Bude was perfect for days on the beach in a beach hut. Everyone had a great time.

Nicky your feedback is so good to read. Rondi and I are really pleased your week was a success and that Parnacott suited you all. We were definitely an international house for a week! Bude does just get better and better and I recall you liked Widemouth as well. You left the house in very good order - thank you - and we hope you will be back next year! • "Fantastic location!"

beautifully tranquil and relaxing but also not far from towns or beaches. The house was perfect for our family holiday as it easily housed 13 of us and not once did we feel crowded. The great grandparents enjoyed the beautiful grounds which they felt comfortable wandering around whereas the younger members were able to play table tennis or snooker. We visited Bude a few times as the surfing was excellent there. The house itself was clean, comfortable, spacious and full of interesting history. The owners of the property were kind and incredibly helpful, we were sad to leave.

Thank you so much - we are ideal for 3 generations. September is such a good month for a holiday at Parnacott. You know the way now and will be welcomed back with open arms!! All the best - John & Rondi Property Owner

  • "The property is beautiful, set in tranquil grounds."

It offers a different experience to most other large highly rated properties. It is densely decorated with old family portraits, much old china and other family heirlooms. The owners and other members of the family live in adjoining and neighbouring cottages, there is an internal interconnecting door between the main house and the owners’ cottage. The property could perhaps do with some internal decoration and replacements, such as repainting ceilings and replacing threadbare carpets but perhaps this adds to the ‘old country house experience’? The property was very clean when we arrived.
