Nice place, liked it alot, Only thing I didn't like was given 2 sacks for us to take of the bed sheets of duvet, For the price I paid I was shocked that I had todo that chor, Found it rather rude to be honest,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, we do appreciate it! So pleased to hear that you liked Lily Cottage. We do ask all our guests to place their linen into zipped laundry bags and are very grateful to all our guests who, until this point, have been happy to do so. We learned a lot from Covid and have taken this step to protect our hard working local Mums who help with the changeovers. Three times in the past they have been exposed to situations we would not choose for them whilst stripping beds. We place great importance on hygiene not only for our valued guests, but for our team members also. I believe this is reflected in our high cleanliness scores consistently achieved with our feedback. We are confident we are not the only self catering accommodation providers to take this step. Thank you for your comments, Siobhan. Property Owner

Very helpful hosts. Only downside no storage space in en-suite bedroom.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. The ensuite bedroom has wall mounted hanging space with many wooden hangers, and a fold away rack for suitcases. I will however, look further into storage solutions. The other bedrooms have excessive storage, as well as a really generous living space with storage too. The thick stone walls of this historic barn conversion have dictated the bedroom sizes, but we feel that the bags of charm and character in the beautiful setting and stunning views across the 2 acre gardens from the window help to balance out the room. We look forward to welcoming you back to Cardwen Farm Holiday Cottages soon! Property Owner

Spacious for a family of 4 with 3 nice sized bedrooms and a big open living space upstairs. Well appointed. Lovely location on the edge of a little village. Also close to national trust beaches (Lantic Bay) which were very special and other interesting things. Owners were very responsive and helpful if we needed them. Would highly recommend. Only small thing was that dogs couldn't run free in the backyard because of ponds etc but not a big issue for us.

  • "We had a wonderful week at Lily cottage a perfect retreat."

Very quiet and relaxing. Our children loved the barn owl camera and were lucky enough to see the 3 baby owls as well as the parents feeding them. Amazing! If I had to offer improvement advice I would say the dishwasher was a bit smelly so we didn't use it but honestly we were so sad to leave and my daughter was crying. Pickle the pug also had a lovely week. Thank you Shiobhan and family.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us here at Cardwen Farm Holiday Cottages. The two Owl Box cameras that feeds to the TV in the lounge are very popular with everyone, it so lovely to get children engaged in nature also. I did have a look at the dishwasher and had our housekeeping team also have a sniff, we couldn't detect anything bad, we think possibly the dishwasher may not of been run for some time? As we were unable to find anything when we did the next changeover we can only theorise that from previous bookings the smaller number of occupants in the cottage perhaps did not run it for a while possibly leaving a slightly stale aroma?? Nevertheless we have throughly cleaned the dishwasher anyway, and run several high temperature washes to be sure. We have checked in with guests since who are happy with the dishwasher. We will continue to keep a close eye on all our appliances, as we always aim for a very high level of cleanliness. A weekly sniff check has been added! I live here on site and always encourage all our guests to let me know as soon as they find something they need to draw to my attention too as I am always happy to rectify any issues immediately so that all our guests are able to enjoy their precious holidays - using all facilities - with us to the fullest. • "We had a very good week thanks to our friendly and attentive hosts."

We found their cottage very comfortable and well equipped however, we would like to raise a couple of small points as suggestions for further improvement: we feel a little more attention to the finer detail e.g. dust on all flat surfaces was apparent - probably due to the regular use of log burner; de-frosting of freezer & disposal of previous users food stuffs. There was certainly more than enough books and toys to entertain occupiers on a rainy day - even a resident owl for watching on the TV screen!

Thank you for the kind comments. We are sorely disappointed to hear that you found a couple of things that were not up to the very high standard we set ourselves at Cardwen Farm. Preceding your stay we used a different cleaning company on a one off occasion and have passed on your comments - along with our own. We pride ourselves on providing spotless accommodation and regret placing this in the hands of someone different. This is the first time we have had this feedback. We are always more than happy for any guest to approach us on site if there are any issues. We will do our upmost to resolve anything immediately. We are also sorry to hear that you found unwelcome items in the freezer, this again has been passed to the housekeeping team at the time. We do however deliberately leave bags of ice in the freezer for the convenience of our guests. Owl TV has proven very popular with all our visitors and we hope to welcome you back again. About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
